TMNT Classic Series - Bootleg Zones 

Fun fact: Near the Chinese city that produces TMNT bootleg figures there's a shrine to Phelan, since the entire region's economy hinges on him making these videos.

I don't know why, but bootlegs of figures that were originally really well-made and detailed fascinate me so much more than ones based on simpler figures. It's like watching a beautiful classic car get hit by a train. The destruction of the craftsmanship is somehow both horrifying and satisfying.

Insane to believe it’s been a decade since you looked at those classic figures, time sure does fly.

Bathero has had such an arc over the years. His transformation into a villain this season is a welcome change to the source material.

Bonesteel used his SARAN WRAP SHOOTER on the Turtles during their last encounter. Thankfully Phelous saved them in the nick of time.

The chain on bootleg Mikey's nunchucks is clearly the same style used on some keychains. They probably already have many of those in the bootleg factory.

How Phelan manages to find all these bootlegs is beyond me. He must be part of some sort of secret cabal of a community.

They might be an accurate representation of the Next Mutation Turtles, in the sense that they refuse to stand up or do anything. It's the new way!

I find it hilarious how Bathero is so sad and pathetic he gets beaten by Steffy even when she congratulates him, regardless of it being intentional or sarcastic.

The only points yours deserves over the ones I got back in the day is that my Raph came with his left foot broken off, and of course him being my favorite turtle why WOULDN'T he be the one to come broken straight out of the mailer? :P It's nice to see you swing around to these, Bootleg zones and all your toy videos have been a great joy over the years and have rekindled my love of hunting down bootlegs of my own (including an amazing Mexican April O'Neil that would look perfect with your Demon Turtles), so thank you for all the many, many great dives into these things, it's been well appreciated.

I actually picked up the Classic Turtles figures after watching your video! I kinda had some bad luck with it. My Mikey came with a broken ankle and his chest plate fell off, so I can't pose him well. And Leo's eyes were pretty hilariously wall-eyed. But they're still good figures (The other two are great! And Leo's good minus the eyes, so I assume Mikey was the exception rather than the rule) and I'd definitely rather have even my figures with issues than deal with these bootlegs. I wanna give them some props for even attempting such complicated figures...but seeing the results...naaaaaah. At least we get more Bootleg Zones out of it!

I actually really prefer the bootlegs that are crazy and over the top. These ones are just ripping off the originals pure and simple and doing it poorly. What a pity.

These actually look pretty good for bootlegs. Well that is until you check the originals and realize how much function was skipped out of these like the fingers and toes. I assume they come in bags because well, most chinese sellers omit the package to save on space and packaging. Btw, you should try and check out Space Morphers. An actual new transforming combining robot line with awesome unique alt modes and die cast, not copying anything. Really good quality too.

I had a hard time telling, but did you bruise your hands while handling these guys, or was that paint rubbing off from the figures? It looked like it hurt if it was the former!

They're like the evil Bizarro Universe versions of the NECA Mirage Comics TMNT bootlegs (which I bought after watching your review since the officials are stupid expensive and are every bit as good as you said).

One of the few bootlegs, specifically Raphael, I own. I originally planned to buy the whole set, but when Raph arrived, I decided not to bother.

Must've gotten some different version of the bootleg back in 2014. Even with some detailes like Leo's shell kinda trying to fall off, they can both stand and hold their weapons just fine and only one of Leo's swords is lightly curved. The shades of the green on them also less vibratant and more in line with the 87 figures, I guess.

Turtles keep their head stiff with honor!

Bent weapons can be fixed with hot water btw. Warm a mug of water in a microwave for about 3 minutes. dip the bent item into the water and while the plastic is loose straigbten it out. and bingo. Also works for loosening joints that don't wanna move.

I just noticed that one of Raph's knot tails for his belt is missing on the bootleg lol.

i have a bootleg of this turtles with the same articulation of the originals, the only diference from the originals are the paint on the base and the wraping on donnie´s bo

Why doesn't Donatello have purple wrap on his bo?

I actually got these a while back and I rather like them. Mine don't have loose joints or paint splotches and have limited shoulder joints. My Don's head also moves, as does my Raph. Of the weapons, only Don's was bent, though it took a lot to get Leo's swords in their sheaths. The paint on the weapons was pretty bad, but I can easily paint over that. While it doesn't help that the Classics line molds suck ass, I overall am satisfied with my versions.
