That's the problem with most of today's society. When someone tells the truth, others are quick to call it "negativity." The truth hurts. That's all. Change is not always good.
The Dunk Contest of 2025 should be Anthony Edwards, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Jalen Green/Obi Toppin. And send Mac McClung a thank you card for holding it down for the last 2 years. Carry On
@@BlkDiesel Exactly my point. Like Shaq said it use to be the best part of the weekend now it's the worst nobody cared about it anymore because the dunkers suck.
You don’t cut Shaq off when he is speaking knowledge. He is an intelligent individual and you have to listen to him when he is being sincere. Zion can be great but he has to want it!! Respectfully, he has to grow up!!! This generation is different! Dude has the talent!!
Aint shaq the one that emailed a girl saying he'd kill her then threw the computer in a lake thinking it would erase the email?? LMAO yea real iNteLiGeNt inDiVidUAl
Great point. He Def was a 2× all star and never once hinted at participating in dunk contest. I'll give him benefit of the doubt for 2nd selection cuz hamstring injury but he could've Def participated in first and his popularity would've been even higher first time. I think alot of players lost the TRUE LOVE FOR THE GAME BECAUSE OF IT BEING A BUSINESS AT THIS POINT. If THE KING, LEBRON, NEVER DID IT IN 20 PLUS YEARS THEN THE YOUNGER GENERATION PROB LIKE WHAT'S THE POINT IF I ALREADY HAVE A NAME AND FAME. I hate this narrative for the nba because older players never had this mentality
Man jamal can have a spot in the actual tnt crew atp I acc like him, he's pretty cool and petty at times - perfect fit. He look like a man for inside the nba. Some of the others like vc, Chris webber , they never quite belonged cuz they were kinda not being 100 real all the time. Jamal usually keep it real tho, so I'm down with him on
Amazing comment you’re 100% right. You gotta admit though Chris Webber is really good maybe not 100% his real self but none of these guys are trust me I’ve met them
@@ThePolicy843 its the mind set... Shaq embraced Giannis long time ago even before Bucks won championship.. Shaq got a point here Zion was overblown, overhyped, overrated... just like MJ said these contracts make them lazy, they didnt earn it
Zion would be the most exciting dunker in the contest since like VC imo. Weve had good contests and stuff but no one gets me thinking ill see something i havent seen before like Zion. And vs Morant might be the best contest of all time if they bring their creativity.
Dunk contest is becoming boring. There are just so little new dunks you can make anymore that will impress the audience. However, if someone can dunk from the 3 point line that would be a game changer!
@@cyberbron2077 right? Like I see all the RU-vid comments and feel bad for the dude…but look at Earnie: comfortable in his own skin and knows how to hold the room and doesn’t come off like he’s trying to fit in. I mean he is the godfather for a reason! I think there’s a spot for lefkoe he just gotta relax, be himself and not try to do what he thinks “the basketball players watching this show would like” unless that’s his actual personality then oh well it is what it is lol
Thats true they just be letting anyone be a judge. Nobody cared anymore after what they did to Gordon. 2016 was a robbery but the one against jones where he dunked over taco was insane.
@@IBlackSanta oh okay... you're dumb... they talked about one comment and not the 2 hour game that happened... also, pels are 6 games back... they are balling right now.. they have a top offense and a top defense.... watch basketball.. not just look at standings....
Shaq is dropping wisdom and knowledge right here. I'm an old head and I definitely understand what Shaq is talking about in having a successful mindset.
I don't get what people expect from Zion. He had 3 unhealthy years, came back this year, played in 51 games so far which is 10 shy of the most he's ever played. Will probably hit 65 games minimum. Scores 22 ppg on 57% from the field with 5 rebounds 5 assists and a steal. Like maybe he's not tip top Zion yet but give him a couple of years of health first
The issue is his lack of health & not playing is because of how he's been taking care of himself. He was the next chosen one & he hasn't produced as the chosen one so the flack will keep coming whether justified, or not because that was the picture painted when he was coming into the NBA. The fans have never gotten to see "tip top" Zion in the NBA so it's soured a lof of people's opinion of the man.
I hope that you are being sarcastic. He has been a professional athlete far too long to still have his weight be such a factor for concern. A true professional does not let a leg injury deter them from maintaining good workout and eating habits. He is not fooling anyone. His natural state is lazy and he is at the crossroads of time when he either commits to change or he ages out of youthful resilience and becomes perpetually hurt and an afterthought.
Candace said what I was thinking before I watched this video. We need Ja vs Zion in the dunk contest. That'll bring the excitement back its been to dull lately.
The dunk contest has run its course for human ability. It’s time for more matchup based games, whether it’s a 1v1 main event, tournament or something. The dunk contest has to go, doesn’t matter who is in it or not.
This whole discussion about today's "stars", as it pertains to their professionalism, dedication to the game, etc., reminds me of a frequent observation about FURNITURE. In our not-that-distant past, furniture was made to last. I remember the furniture pieces that my grandparents & parents had, that stuff was made to last generations...and, did. Nowadays, unless you purchase the most expensive of stuff, this stuff starts falling apart in 5, 6 years. Today's NBA players aren't yesterday's NBA professionals. Being handed generational wealth-type of money seems to have put a damper on those things that cause a man to strive for excellence. When you observe the European-league players, players in places where you won't get wealthy by playing ball, you see the hunger, the desire that affluence has sapped from the modern-day NBA player. Where the legacy NBA players strove for excellence, to be the best they could be, today's players seem to only strive for the contract. Then, once that's accomplished, they immediately start "load managing", complaining about their coach and/or teammates, etc., before pressuring the team to trade them "to a contender", because, LeBron gets to do it. As far as I'm concerned, give me the furniture that was made to last. I don't need to have furniture shopping as a regular, recurring fixture of my life. And, for that matter, give me the players of old, who had some pride in the product they presented to the public, some pride in trying to be the best they could be, and, didn't need major rules changes implemented in order for them to surpass the career records set by true NBA legends.
Zion should get Biomechanics coach from Wemby’s team. Dr Brian Sutterer always points out his awkward walk/landings, gotta get that body/mind connection
Shaq didn’t even listen to what Zion said. Zion wasn’t on some “please put me in the all star game” he literally said “I need to show I’m all star worthy, then I’ll join the dunk contest”
I think this is just them yapping because they have nothing else to talk about so they made a big deal out of nothing. All I heard from Zion is that he is setting a goal to make the all star team.
Jamal Crawford is funny... when the host said "you better hit it from deep"... Jamal had a double meaning for that line LOL... Wanted him to say it again because he knew it had a sexual connotation
The Dunk Contest was a great way to market yourself as a young player. You can score an incredible endorsement from winning it. However, times have changed and kids are making millions by their first year. There is already enough exposure with social media.
