To All The Worried Fathers… 

This verse helped me this morning. I failed by the way. Trying to get back on the horse. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.“ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬-‭34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Hey Im a new dad and I feel the exact same way. Also i struggled with addiction my whole life. As men we have to do what it takes to take care of our families. work long hours, beat our addictions, Its always hard. So be proud of everyday you have those bills paid, food on the table and that you are the one carrying the weight so they don't have to. if you are sober and working hard, eating right, working out, and most importantly you bring happiness in the door with you when you come home to the kids because that's why we do it. Then they will all look back when they are older and say their dad was the best in the world. none of us will ever have the quantity of time we wish for, but as happy loving hard working dads we can be sure to have the quality. you're a good man and a good dad i can see that. So stay strong man you'll find the right path.

Aaron, my daughter is 9 years old and I constantly worry if I’m enough for her and as she gets older she needs me slightly less each day, it’s not easy but it is life’s greatest gift. Circle of Control dude, if you can control it try do something about it and if you can’t we have to let that stuff go mate, exercise, stay hydrated and mediation/deep breathing! You go this bro! Man, I have all the same worries. The above commenter (Hi Tim) is dead right. I've started having a little more faith, not religious but spiritual. My Mum has passed so I keep my faith in her that she will watch my back. I am a chronic worrier. I'm ALWAYS thinking about the future and different scenarios like...will my two sons be ok in this world when I die? My oldest is on the spectrum so I just fear for him so much when he is older and has to defend himself. I've a chronic health condition which means I can't work for now and I need to take medications I know will shorten my life a bit but it is what it is. Because I can't work so my husband provides. I'm not worried about my home as we are in a 'council house' which means we rent cheap off of the council so we don't have a mortgage to pay so I'm super blessed that way. Just low cost rent every week. If I get to raise my son's till they're the age of 25-30 I'll be happy. That's all I want really. Try and stay in the present. That's what I do but I know it's hard. Life is hard. You have a good and sensible head on your shoulders, a loving wife to support you in life. Just be present as much as you can. ❤

Yep. Same thoughts here. My son is 10. I think this is where faith helps. And sleep. It doesn't necessarily have to be a religious or even spiritual faith. There are many paths, but without faith comes worry and doubt which can become self fulfilling prophecies which is science's explanation. Interesting to hear science use the word prophesy. Sounds deep but it isn't. Or at least it doesn't have to be. Anyway, hope you sleep well and wake up with renewed confidence. ✌️
