14:30 with yubel especially with the new cards going over 40 is recommended - there are a good amount of searchers now - not all of the same quality but you can still increase the playable + non engine cards to brick ratio, in a relatively easy manner.

Yubels gonna have 2 negates when the new fusion plus the soul for sp on the opponents turn. It’ll get more gas with fiendsmith too I’m excited to play it

14:19 I honestly feel like it's a little bit of both which is why I've had a hard time bedeck building. OG yubel and terror incarnate are both engine requirements, and spirit by itself is also pretty bricky but is also just a good card not to play 3 of, especially when fighting against tenpai. The deck has a lack of 1 card starters. Really the only 1 card combos are just lotus and throne so typically people are running 3 of both with terraforming and sometimes one for one which would only give you 7-8 one card combos. Everything else is just 2 card combos with beckoning beast/spirit gates, grave squirmer, or nightmare pain + spirit of yubel in hand. It definitely Bricks sometimes and I've had a difficult time managing my ratio of engine to non-engine. Another 1 card combo would be piri reis map since it can search samsara lotus but I can't find enough space for it in my deck...

2 level 10s is easily achieved by playing the tistina engine

Deck is super cool but it’s so bricky. You want field spell in every hand so you want to run 40 but you also want to go over 40 as to not open the bricks which there are a lot of. Many hand combinations kind of suck. It has strong plays but is ultimately a far less consistent snake eye. The new yubel fusion adds ceiling to the deck but doesn’t fix the consistency at all

in some players the autism is just stronger than in others!

ive been testing the deck online. dont play spirit and nightmare pain at 3, play both at 2 and play set rotation with chicken game becouse you need the field spell. you can play 1 yubel and do the same combo but it looses way harder to nib if you do, you play 2 yubel becouse the summon from deck after spirit gets popped is not a OPT eff

Okay but Skill Drain is VERY different than summon limit. You can’t make a crazy wombo combo fuck off combo deck end board and then flip skill drain to gg your opponent. Skill drain can really only be played in grindy low-to-the-ground decks. Also, it’s far easier to play under Skill Drain than summon limit/anti-spell. Is the card still strong and ban worthy? Probably, it definitely creates some unfun game states, but saying it will replace Summon Limit is just a bad take.

I was unsure about the Yubel because it's legacy support for an anime card until I saw it in action and realized how much late game potential it has. Also, the mirror match between Illusion monsters is really enjoyable to watch.

Calling this "Yubel Unchained" with only 2 unchained cards in the main deck is like calling Mannadium decks "Scareclaw Mannadium". And even with those decks, they run more Scareclaw cards than we run Unchained cards and people don't go around calling it "Scareclaw Mannadium" Just Mannadium. We make use of the unchained cards as a small engine that we can search with any 2 fiends to go into Yama. And not running unchained cards in Yubel is just inefficient because Rage into SP is just too good of a play to pass up. We do have to draw a line somewhere because we aren't going to start calling it "Yubel Unchained Kashtira" if we start adding 3 Fenrir in the deck are we? So in my books, a "Yubel Unchained" Deck must have MORE than 4 Unchained cards in the main deck. So if you see a Yubel deck with cards like 3 Aruha and 3 Abomination's Prison, and maybe some of the Unchained bricks like Abominable Unchained Soul, with a smaller Yubel engine of 1 Lotus, 1 Nightmare Pain, 2 Spirit or something. Than that would be a "Yubel Unchained" deck. The guy who made the deck even said he was playing "Yubel" at the start and not "Yubel unchained".

Yubel gets a pass from me. Its a classic "archetype" if u wanna call it that lol it really was just a sorta standalone boss monster back in the day you had to build a deck around and do alot of setup for. Its sorta like a "Mikanko, but for smarter ppl" because yes, it reflects, but it also does other stuff and encourages the player playing yubel to build a board and have other things going on than just "me kaiju you then swing for game". Who knows what the future holds though, you can always count on the nerds to ruin cool archetypes and turn them into something degenerate. Time will tell.
