You know the whole "our revolution could end up badly" kinda rings more true irl, with the whole fact that people can't just enjoy less authoritarian version of their but in TF2, we can still have community servers or our own custom fixes for the issue like moderating or whatever that guy makes with bot list. My only question in all this is if we are also against the Idle bots. They are the ones that bloat the player numbers but also the economy. While they don't impact casual or gameplay they are still far from good for the game
i think they can be tolerated but it's paramount that none of those item farms get to collude with the updates and what cosmetics gets added to the game. Maximum profits≠keeping the game coherent
so ideally all of the bot owners get publicly displayed and in case a cosmetic is suspected to be a financial bubble of theirs the workshop page needs to have a red plaque saying "made by and in the best interests of bot farms" and also foolproof the voting system from propping up the ratings with said bots. With all these steps it's easier to actually ban bots from farming in idle servers

Even tradable premium upgrade kits all had to be bought from valve at some point so valve is directly profiting from the bots which would mean their mere existence favors valve not doing anything about either bots. Hell even the game ones have to get premium, even if they mostly do so with cheap currencies like Argentina

Nothing i say will change about this. But in regards to this crisis, i agree what must be done. But even then Casual mode is fundamentally broken as explained by lister in his video "Casual is Fundamentally Broken [TF2]". I just want to share my opinion, i think Valve is known for making vague "fixes" to TF2. If they really want to kill two birds with one stone, they should re-implement Quickplay mode and replace Casual, they should leave TF2's life support to us, the community. A stricter version of Quickplay would come very handy and would revive many, many community servers that want a full vanilla experience completely rid of bots. So they would be getting rid of bots, bring life back to community servers AND get rid of the problems Casual mode has (as explained by lister that i experienced so many times). We're protesting for a mode that isn't even worth protesting for, Casual is a mess to play even without bots. But still better than doing nothing for sure. I'm just saying that Valve should implement a better version of Quickplay. They could re-purpose the Casual map selection menu to instead queue for vanilla community servers. I would add one more requirement for Quickplay servers and that would be no plugins like Roll The Dice and Resize. As for admin abuse, players can boycott a certain server to make the owner re-consider the position of the admin abusing the server he's paying for.

you guys are asking for too much imo, I've played Tf2 non stop back in Jungle Inferno and for the next 2 years with my GF , got the game when it went free2play back in 2012 I think, one thing that concerns me a lot with all what people contantly repeat on videos about Tf2 is the money talk, why? just because a game made "money" doesn't mean they have a "budget" for that particular game, I believe ( correct me if im wrong since im assuming ) the way Valve works with budgets is that, it's contantly changing with what are they working on, if they have a big project on the works ( deadlock for example ) they put basically all the budget there, how many devs are contantly working on the game (TF2)? last time I've heard someone talking about devs manpower were basically 2 people?. what I'm trying to say is that, we should stop talking about money, and more of a "will of making a change" a desire to fix , instead of the money since that sounds to me like a space where not a lot of people have the raw data to make an argument for it. all that aside, we also need to be realistic on the anticheat argument, heck guys, look at the mess that's happening on CounterStrike 2, a newer GAME FROM 2023, only a year old and it has probably the same amount of cheaters and bots as TF2 ( asumming TF2 playerbase is inflated with 70% bots ) and they havent done anything to fix it with a solid anticheat and relied only on AI based Anticheat. I'd say Valve tried to fix TF2 back on the first #savetf2 campaign a couple of years ago, found that it was too hard to do and simply stopped caring, and this hurts a lot, but it might be the reality the fandom and playerbase of TF2 has to get.
I don’t think it’s asking too much to have a company be responsible for the product they are issuing. This protest is more than about TF2 getting updates. It’s about getting Valve to take responsibility for their games, and fix their negligent attitude towards every game they put out. Be it TF2, CS:GO or any other.
@@Lonqudor awh man I wish this movement the best outcome possible, one thing that also basically cut all my hopes on gettin something was when a TF2 Source 2 alpha was leaked alongside the Deadlock closed beta release, basically 4 mercenaries fully coded for Source 2 just to check on some gamemodes to set up on Deadlock :( , let's hope they dont forget about TF2 now with Deadlock in the horizon

I think launching the website early was a good idea, get the kinks out before the full protest. Also the signatures tied to an email are very important, as it shows that 1 signature=1 real person

They did, they made Source 2 tf2 and Valve took legal action against it to remove it, they also tried to take down tf2 classic and another mod but they ignored Valve since Valve ghosted them
