I really enjoyed this interview. Thanks for the love Todd. You should have called me during this podcast. I literally could have answered every question that you forgot. Still some of my best memories in BJJ
Todd has a great perspective on how he sees all the controversy and bias that affected him. Ultimately, he's so understanding and considerate about all of it.
The Walt Bayless blackbelt at the end was Justin Ellison. And you fought him on GQ, not the Las Vegas tournament. That Las Vegas tourn where there is no footage of was one of the best tournaments ever. If you remember, the Diaz brothers were in that tournament too. Nate was like 15. Cassio beat me, you and Jamie Cruz in that tournament. The tournament promoters name was Mike. There was some great stories from the GQ in Vegas when you fought Terrell that you left out. Our corner vs the Hughes brothers during the Nakapan-Matt Hughes match
@@LytesOutMMAHistorythanks, been around a long time. Ever want to chat, lmk, i can answer a lot of the questions in this interview. If you are looking for East Coast history, which i agree is important, i know more than a lot of people. Know a lot of West Coast too but your man for that (West Coast) would probably be Gumby (Alan Marquez)
@@LytesOutMMAHistoryfacts. Sav is def encyclopedia that you should chat with. Real pioneer with the sport. We can tell some stories of the tap out guys from their beginnings too. The tap out guys and I went out and got nuts after the Vegas tournament that no one has video of. 😂
Justin and I had a second match that there has got to be some videos floating around. I beat Sean Spangler and submitted Justin and then lost 2-0 or 4-2 to Cassio Werneck who beat Nakapan in the semis. All Good times.
