There might be times where your oldest will try to climb into the crib with the baby, even a little further down the line (when baby is over 5mo). Mine does so at the moment our youngest (1 yr) falls asleep in our room and once our oldest is asleep in her bed, we transfer our 1 yr old into her crib in their shared room. Just a heads up! But beautiful room 😍

Beautiful! 😍 I'm planning our nursery for our first in like a fall/dark red/dark green theme because he'll be born in fall - when I think of him now, those fall and forest colors instantly come to my mind and I just love it. :) It's such a fun project!

They make bunk beds that you can separate into two different beds yhat way you can have then stacked or individual if you wanted to get rook a bed frame now . P.s bunk beds are a great idea i loved having bunk beds growing up 🥰

We use the Ubi diaper pail and it’s great ☺️ you can just use regular trash bags with it, blocks out the smell and we’ve never had any issues with it.

We transition our only son to a floor bed when he was 10 months (now he’s 13), and it functioned well. I didn’t do sleep training and he still wakes up some nights one time, but it’s easy to put him back to bed.

Watching you talk about the heat was funny because I love in florida and will go the entire year without using heat! We have to try save money on AC because of how much it has to work to keep it cool!

I bought a diaper pail off Amazon and it uses regular trash bags I don’t mind it at all and haven’t had any issues.

Wait who in the world thinks a 3 year old can still be in a crib. I don't have a floor bed but since my son was 2, literally the day he turned 2 ( it was one of his gifts) he went from a toddler bed to a real twin size bed. We used the dock a tot grand to help transition ( it's huge, he's almost 4 now and about 43 lb and 43 inches and still fits in in tight and cozy in fetal positon), but like I cannot imagine my 39 lb 41 inch tall almost 3 year old in a crib. Ya, some of these reccomendations are stupid. I've seen parents rear face their 4 year old in a car seat because apparently they have vegetables for kids. I think it's safe to say he's more than fine in a floor bed. Love the wallpaper by the way. As a minimalist myself, I love using a wallpaper to add color and charm to a kids room since we don't have much stuff in their room. Just a bed and a very small dresser. He doesn't have enough clothes to warrant an entire 6 drawer dresser like some people have for children.

I got rid of my diaper pail. I have realised it’s just a glorified trash can. Now I use a normal trashcan and just use doggy poop bags for the stinky ones. And honestly it works better at keeping the smell out than a diaper pail.

I just found out I was pregnant again a month ago, it happened in the exact same way as you. Went off birth control but wasn't planning on trying for kids for another year and literally a week after I was off the pill I got pregnant lol I'm only 8 weeks along right now and my daughter is 16 months so I will probably have to try a similar plan that you have here with one sleeping on a floor bed and one in the crib. I hope it goes well for both of us!

Thats the one I have and tbh, it does not keep the smell out as well as you would hope ): I have to use nappy bags for the poop nappies before putting it in!

@@Laurenkl77 I use a couple drops of tea tree oil everytime I change out the bag and it works like a charm. I don’t smell a thing.

I find that sharing a room for my 18M and NB is not working out every day. Sometimes my NB wakes too hungry and it actually wakes my toddler and he will be up for at least an hour. Not terrible but do think I will be changing it

I am watching this video on 1/24/2023 and I am thinking about my daughter adjusting to being a big sister. I am 7 weeks pregnant, confirmed last week at OB. She will be 2 years on April 27th and new baby's due date is 9/16/2023. I was just casually looking and saw that the post date on this video was my daughter's 1st birthday! Feels strangely coincidental. 6 months from September is March so big girl will be almost 3 when little baby will need her crib. Do I have enough time to transition big girl to toddler bed? I hope so LOL

Just used a small stainless steel trash can and either plastic shopping bags or they did sell small sized bags for it, much cheaper than diaper genie. Seems like the diaper genie doesn’t really do much better of a job keeping the smell in, I would rather just take all the poop trash from the regular style can out every day.
