ToDoIst, TickTick, and Taskade are in a task management app battle! While ToDoIst is my personal favorite to-do list app I think that TickTick and Taskade have their place for specific people! If you're someone who works at a business Taskade may be the best way to go and TickTick is great with some of its specific features.
Which task management app do you want to use?

0:36 im good with simple. I just want to block out my days and that's that. Main issue ive actually found with it is that I cant just have blocks out on the calendar view that are not tasks. This seems like something so obvious and simple it should be there, but it just isnt.

Taskade works for desk top setups. However if your a nomad and work from mobile app, you’ll be missing about 50 percent of the desktop features. You also need internet connection to use in most cases. There is not much Integrations and no iCal sync so if your eco system is in the Apple constitution, they’ll be no time blocking and no Reminders sync for you. Also no Apple Watch for quick capture. I think that Taskade is one of the best at what they do I just can’t move everything to this system just yet

ty for calling this out. My bad on misspeaking on this, however, I do think todoist's is easier to use in my opinion

Ticktick's calendar sync is only one way in real time which means to use it most effectively it needs to become your main calendar which is a no go for me. If they had real time two way sync like todoist does, plus a more robust subtask system (like todoist) it would be the best. Or if todoist had a calendar view and more robust notes. Nothing's perfect but right now todoist is about the best of breed for task management and light project management.

I would also bring in the browser extension to the discussion (for me, personally, that's deal breaker): - Todoist: full-blown app within the extension (some shortcuts etc. don't work and some minor inconveniences, but completely usable) - Taskade: super minimal extension that just allows adding a task, and it "steals" your new tab page, which I personally don't like - Ticktick :I can say "weird" browser extension because it's really not a browser extension, and clicking it opens the Webapp in a new browser window (honestly, one of the weirdest browser extensions I've seen in general) So, for me, Taskade and Ticktick are immediate no-go!

totally fair on the browser extension mattering! thanks for this :)

Why are these better than Google Tasks, which integrates with Google Calendar for free?
@matheusfelipe1136
@matheusfelipe1136 Год назад
Google Tasks is too basic for most people
@GrahamLaight
@GrahamLaight Год назад
@@matheusfelipe1136 Hmmm... I'm very much open to being persuaded, but... people used to manage with paper! What am I missing? Is it quicker to make the list with a better product? Does it get you doing more important things?
@matheusfelipe1136
@matheusfelipe1136 Год назад
@@GrahamLaight While you can do practically everything with pen and paper, you might not want to. Either because: 1- It hurts your wrists if you write too hard like me 2- It's slower than typing 3- You can lose/forget it easily And while there really are people who prefer to make lists with pen and paper, other people prefer making them digital, and just like there are many ways to write a list in paper, there are many ways to write a list digitally, and with that comes a bunch of different apps to write things digitally. Some people prefer to use an Einsehower Matrix to separate important from urgent work, others prefer to separate tasks by project, while others just rank their tasks by due date. There are also people who swear by some productivity methods created by others like GTD. And while for you, Google Tasks might be more than enough, for others, like Demetri, need more robust apps (in his case, Notion) to be able to go through their day-to-day jobs and business. If everyone could do all they need in one single fashion, there wouldn't be SO many to-do list apps in the market now
@DemetriPanici
@DemetriPanici Год назад
you can have a variety of views, tags, and actual time assignments to these. for example you can time block with google calendar and todoist. Google tasks is run by a multi-billion dollar company and can't manage to drag their tasks past 30 minutes. It's a bit atrocious when you think of the difference between a "task" and "event" in Google Calendar's code most likely. It literally just ads a check box
@IAmDanMillen
@IAmDanMillen Год назад
Also with google tasks you can see them on your web calendar but not on your mobile. If you have a process that uses a lot of subtasks with distinct due dates on them, or if you spend a lot of time on a mobile, google tasks breaks down pretty quickly. Same with TickTick. I've never tried Taskade but Todoist handles my workflow pretty robustly. I do wish Todoist had a calendar built in, but you can timeblock and calendarize your todoist tasks from within google calendar, or if you want to get really sexy you can pay for an outside app like Sunsama, Akiflow or Morgen that will pull your todoist tasks into their system and let you time block them automatically or semi-automatically.
