i was on the fence so to speak as i really am not the ak expert but i wanted to dip my toes in the ak world and as the akm is a no frills and not not even a side mount i waited for the obvious next ak the akx and so far I'm impressed. the gun is super solid, heavier than the 416a5 with all its bits. its very snappy but still has the ak rate of fire around 650 rpm. the kick is amazing the strongest tm rifle. the price seems to be the hard bit but for quality there is always a price.
1:57 You mean to say they're polymer styled shells yea? They're not polymer shells, TM made it clear they're metallic mags (painted over) and my own AKX mags already scratched to reveal the Zinc alloy underneath
Hi there thanks for the correction i will include it in my review, I can only say my first time touching the akx was there on camera so you get my real first impressions, they have done a great job with the coating as it will fool most, I haven't scratched my mags so far and through lack of being rough with them.
Looks lovely, looking forward to seeing the full review. I'm thinking of getting my first GBB Rifle, was looking at the TM M4A1 MWS with the ZET system, but this AKX is now a serious contender.
There both great rifles, if you've never had a gbbr ar15 then the mws is a perfect out of the box rifle to start. There are so many aftermarket parts and upgrades for it.
@@MiddleAgeGameruk They both look great, I'm probably more comfortable with an M4, as my current Rifle is a TM416D NGRS with 7 TM mid caps at 80 BB's each. My only real concern with a GBB rifle is the 35 BB capacity mags, as even with 80 BB's in the AEG midcaps, for a long game (like a 3 stage push back), it can be tricky to not need a reload mid game, unless you're very disciplined with the trigger! How do you find it with only 35 BB's per mag on a GBB?
When I decided to go the gbbr route at first I was worried but now after multiple years I wouldn't have it any other way. Yes there's only 35 rounds per mag but there's nothing like the rush you get pushing and planing the tactical reload beforehand. And as you say it makes you plan your shots but also enhances your situation awareness more. The trick is to find your balance between your primary and secondary.
The akx mags are like gold dust at the moment as there are so new but over the next year they will become more available. The akx dose work with the akm mags too so it should be better soon.
Hi there, up until last week, it was fine. The finish held up well, scratches started to appear, and that awesome worn-in feeling like a true battle worn look.
I've not had the pleasure of holding one but I do really worry if its licenced by emg I've not had a good experience with them but if enough of you guys ask me I will add it to the list for the channel my friend
@@MiddleAgeGameruk I haven’t had the best luck either, the 2011 that I got from them had the same issues as your John wick hi cappa. Loose safety and mag baseplate would fall off. Also the paint garage. I’ll probably give them another chance with their pit viper coming out in may.
