I have been waiting for this to drop for what feel like a year. That's an eternity in internet time! I was NOT disappointed! This scuba adventure is new ground (water?) for Only in Japan! Looking forward to more summer adventures!
What did you think about Ogasawara? Is it worth the 24 hour ferry ride from Tokyo? Oh, join us on the Discord server! discord.gg/eczNWfu and photos on Instagram instagram.com/onlyinjapantv
Gorgeous. Your constant smile is infectious. I'm a snorkeler and got to do the Great Barrier Reef once. And I've also been to Hawaii. The Pacific Ocean has many wonderful dive sites. You need to share more of Japan's sites with us.
This has got to be one of your best videos! The shots of the ocean teeming with life are NatGeo/Animal Planet worthy! Even if you weren't a scuba diver or snorkeler, this video will entice you to visit Ogasawara.
Beautiful video John! I was a bit concerned with the sharks in the sea but you survived :p And i'm happy you got to document such a scenic place that not many know about. Matane!
The Galapagos of the East, I've been to the Galapagos and I like the sound of that. I've done snorkeling in Puerto Rico, almost got stung by a big jellyfish but it was fun
Haha! I was always inspired by James Bond movies -- Thunderball (1965) was one of the best scuba action shots ever, even today! If Bond-san can do it, I can try too.
Thumbs up for the MagnaDoodle briefing alone! That made me LOL. Thanks for sharing, John. This is an area of Japan I'll never personally get to so it's nice to see. It's amazing the quality of video that's available to individuals (outside of a movie studio) now. Great job!
Your footage & commentary truly rival a huge budget BBC program. I hope Sir David knows You're coming for his Gig LOL I Love the ease & unpretentious attitude you so naturally guide us with. This truly rivals The Famous Maya Beach In Thailand Which will hopefully be reopened to visitors in 2021. This is going to be put in my Travel Bucketlist! Much Love From Southwestern New York!
White tip, Sand Tiger Shark and a real Tiger shark thats awesome i have other 100 dives in the red sea, bali, mediteran ocean and have only seen white and black tips. Next time i travel to japan i should include some diving ^^
Yes, I wanted to release this when the weather was relevant. Shot in September. November didn't make sense to release it. It's great to re-visit the last Ogasawara video through this one too. We live in such a NOW world that sometimes later is refreshing. (sometimes.)
Been waiting for this one for a while and it was totally worth the wait! Tremendous footage of the marine wildlife! A place that is definitely worth the time and effort to get to! Thanks for taking us there John! 👍
Love your videos John, thank you so much for running this channel and producing such amazing content. I can't wait to revisit Japan and hopefully do an "Onsen tour" in Fukushima, similar to how you did it in one of your old videos!
Cryanda 😂 they love it! I’ve seen that when free divers go, if the make eye contact and seem friendly, the dolphin will stay for a while and play. They can see in your eyes the kind of person you are - I’ve been told.
@@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN They're some of the most fascinating social creatures and I'm glad to see what Japan has to offer! I bet those dolphins know good cinematography and editing when they see it, too. Thanks for the quality videos!
Great footage John! I love the abundance of sea life and how clear the water is! I didn't know that there were such beautiful dive sites like that around Japan. I can't wait to be there in, I'm going in late August and I'm considering doing some diving during my holiday. Are there any that are closer to the mainland? As I'm only going to be there for 10 days. Love the video, great work! 😎👍🏽
Frank Wu not a permit, you have to go with a licensed guide. They limit the numbers of tourists to visit protected areas which is good. You can’t really go their on your own anyway unless you sail to the island yourself.
saya8 I loved that shot! I researched it and learned the Trumpet fish shadows that fish for hunting, and sometimes will eat the shadow!! LOL not the best buddy at times.
@@WaoryuONLYinJAPAN Thank you for replying, John! That's an interesting habit the Trumpet fish has! I love your documentaries, such high quality contents, and the wholesome, positive vibes you give to them is awesome!❤️ Keep up the good work!😆👍
Your videos inspired me to get off the couch and get to Japan. I don't think I will be scuba diving though! That shark looked pretty big! Another great video - beautiful photography and a great musical score, too!
I’m Japanese, studying English. Going to Ogasawara is one of my bucket list ideas !! It’s so far away from my hometown. I hope tourists can enjoy such a fantastic island ❤️ above all, you can escape from crowded subway in Tokyo ;)
