Dear Tom Hiddleston, We have never met, you don't know me, I don't know you, but you are one of the better people I have seen in the world. You are funny, charming, adorable, and I hope I can find someone with a personality like yours. Lots of Love, Someone who thinks you are great!
Tom is a master manipulator of emotions as the video shows ... damn him:) The Snowman came out in 1982, he must have seen it when he was six or something but the visual impressions are so strong that it feels like he just viewed it an hour ago. That's impressive narrative skills.
Jeez. If you ever think you might be over this guy, watch this interview. My mouth hurts from smiling. My chest aches from wanting. Why did he have to be kind and sensitive and sweet on top of that rich voice and good looks?
He has such a sweet, childish nature. It's something a lot of us let go of when we grow up, but we never should. He's just too adorable.. I cannot.. T-T
I've had The Snowman on DVD for years!!! I had it on VHS tape as a kid too, it's amazing, so simple yet captivating....go Tom, ya got great taste in movies!! Ha ha ha ha!!! 😍
we watched this movie once when I was little and never watched it again because of how absolutely devastated I was by the ending. I was a four year old with blonde pig tails who was inconsolable for hours. I re-watched it again after watching this interview and still wept like a baby. ALL THE FEELS!
Oh man, I grew up with The Snowman too!! I love that story so much! My dad and I used to dance when Walking in the Air came on. He would pick me up and pretend to fly with the boy and the Snowman too! Ahh, thank you Tom Hiddleston for the flood of childhood memories!
I had that film on VHS was very small and I loved it so much! I've almost forgotten all about it, it's so long ago...thank you so much for reminding me of it!
Tom Hiddleston talking about a moive called The Snowman that really touched his heart, and the Jungle Book which tom loves, in one of his interviews he did say one day he would like to show this to his children. (Jungle Book) :)
I've seen this movie!! I've seen it! At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but as he explained the story I know where I'ved seen this in school, my god Tom, you're brillaint
I love this man, so, so much. This movie was lovely as well. In the other part (not sure what it is, a sequel? Spinoff? Same artists etc though), Father Christmas decides to take a vacation hahah.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, members of the original team produced a new film titled "Snowman and the Snowdog", shown on English television in 2012.
I know this comment is 6 years old, but I was thinking the exact same thing. Talking about lost innocence. I was like hrrrmmmm....that doesn't sound familiar at all!!! (Love the movie - this version, love the original Walking in the Air, and love love love the Nightwish cover of it)
I really want the full version of his interview that was shown on the actual Film 2011 show last year, to go up on youtube. It's on the Film 2012 website, under 'clips' and on the third page.....if anyone knows how to transfer it to youtube to be downloaded....?
I just finished seeing the movie short hes talking about. Good lord that thing is SAD! The cartoon is beautiful but the ending is just tragic and I would dare say almost traumatizing for a young kid. I can see why he was so moved by it and why he feels it affects him deeply to this day. Its as if the movie were telling little kids, 'kids, there are no happy endings. Life is shit !" The ending was even sadder than I imagined. Its as if the Snowman had died and he was looking at his ashes. Horrible! Lovely but HATED the ending. I think the ending should've been a happier one. Not all good things come to an end you know. Don't inculcate such a sad concept to little kids.
maybe you should watch the second one, " the Snowman and the Snowdog"....starts off pretty sad ( that's when i cried) but the ending is cute and happy :) i was never that bothered by the snowman ending, it was sad but i grew up near the sea so we never had snow for long so to me, it was expected. Snow will melt, so will the snowman. To be fair, i was more devastated by Mufasa's death from the lion king ( still am devastated actually...) than i was by this. The Lion King took me 9 years to attempt to watch it again and ill still bawl my eyes out.
