What black people had to go through in life to become what they aspired to be. Couldn't eat at certain restaurants, no hotels, having to pack all the singers into one car while travelling to the next gig, segregation alive and well. My thanks to the Temps they were the best.
I love "I want a love I can see"!! It's the ringtone on my phone for my husband :-) Thanks for sharing, it's neat to see Paul's son and hear what he had to say :-) RIP Paul Williams.
I love the temps all 6 members fortunately with the passing of Dennis Edwards there's only one living Temptation now that's Otis Williams still I miss Paul I miss eddi I miss David miss u guys I grew up listening to these guys in my uncles 1964 Impala convertible first time I ever heard rhem was a 95 and to this day I cannot find that kind of sound or Style from any other group although I like to consider Bone Thugs and Harmony as the hip-hop Temptations lol anyways I'd like to say rest in peace David Ruffin Eddie Kendricks Melvin Franklin Paul Williams and Dennis Edwards thank you for all the film all the highlights you will never be forgotten 5-15-2018
Not very many people mention him tbh they think David was the lead singer actually it was Paul before David joined the group people need to check they facts though I loved all the members but people are blind on Paul Williams never mention him how a great singer he was seems like they turn heads on him so I appreciate his son took over!
Yes YES Paul was very much left out as The Lead singer until David came aboard, and Paul Williams Sr needs to be acknowledged for his portion as The Lead Singer along with the many songs he contributed..NOT ENOUGH APPRAISAL!! I truly LOVE David , Eddie but Paul needs what due To Him!!
I think its way of honoring his father.along with Otis keep the music out there. Some children can sing then some can't. Nobody can replace anyone. Just carry on the legacy. Like Millie Jackson daughter,Betty wight daughters, along with, James brown, ray Charles, black moses Mr Hayes daughter carrying on their fathers and mother's legacy. We still have Millie Jackson. Sadly lost queen of Miami Betty wight this year.a applaud all them that can sing want honor their parents.love and respect always. N.j.:-)
Paul Williams was my favorite!!! He was the best singer ever! His removal from the group and subsequent death still hurts fans to this day. Glad to hear his son is carrying on in the music industry. Paul's voice lives forever!!
The TEMPTATIONS Will always be remembered as the classiest singers dressers and steppers in their ERA. That untill this day there have never been a group to even come close to their dedication and perfection of their craft...PEACE
Don't Look Back.....is one of my FAVES!!! I love Paul ( and of course my Eddie) but Paul..he had the most expressive eyes...and all the right moves...very SeXy! I love them both.... what a great tribute!
Paul died so young.I for one think he never got the credit he deserved. He did lead at not time.. I agree with his son, for once in my life Paul sung that song. And I love it its in my play list along with some of the other songs Paul sung,I loved and appreciated all of them. Sad what happened to Melvin.Eddie had been smoker for they said 30 years..he had nice voice .. David. I think had a bad life growing up many didn't understand till his brother wrote that book.. Dennis at one time also had a drug problem. so now Dr Otis Williams is the only original temptation.. Some these stories break my heart.they put out a lot good music. Its timeless. We have lost some of them but their music is everlasting. Those songs will never die.even when I'm gone one my grandchildren a will find a temptation album or CD. Or click on their tablet see the videos. For that I'm thankful. Eddie gave his all. singing with one lung had be hard..52. Is young. I think Paul was the youngest to die. He had sickle cell. You'd never known it. Some people didn't wasn't till some years back when the unsung, and other videos came out. That we learned. May all the ones we have lost the original and those that tried to fill their shoes. Always be remembered. God bless Otis and Paul Jr. He must been kind young when his father passed. Love and respect. N.a.JJ.:-)
He had Sickle Cell Anemia, I had no clue and I have the same disease. Now I understand so much more about this man. This is a ruff disease, he killed himself but we with this disease we need to know these things.
Glad to see Paul son with some of the history of The Temptations Paul was one the Greatest Singers of The Temptations. I have Always Loved this group. Thanks for all the Loved you guys gave through music RIP all of my Brother's. The Temptations Forever
Stick to how great this group was and is, talk about how they were cheated out of their royalties and money. Why should u have to close a show because you don't have money for your furneral. These young men were iconic, shame on greedy managers and whoever else stole from them.
Minyonne Straughter Besides original lead singer, Paul came up with the idea of dance steps to make a show. Jr. looks like his dad. I wish he had more humor, as he comes across with too much pride. Years ago, I saw the classic 5 lineup perform in Milwaukee. They were wonderful.
@@thomaspick4123 Paul will always be my favorite temp. He was the most humorous. I especially like his line in TCB where he’s like to Diana Ross, “Nooo Diana we’re the Temptations. The Dreams are another group.” Jr. is definitely very dry but it think it stems from the fact he misses his dad and tries not to get emotional while talking about him.
Remember Eddie Kendrick on this day10-5-16.RIP Eddie let everyone gave a shout out to him this is the day he died.He were a great person and great singer.
True smoking so early. He went through a lot pain yet he didn't give up still trying sing with one lung. My grandmother had lung cancer, they said we think we got it all they took most one lung. Later it came back nothing could be done.she started back smoking damage was done..people need know how toxic smoking is... Saw interview where Eddie said when he was told he had no symptoms.. Sad so many go way too soon. Love and respect. N.j.:-)
@@neitajames6029 ...the tobacco and nicotine poison is no different than the coke poison...David died "91" Eddie die "92" they both were being killed off...money earned downed the drain, given over to Satan's Kingdom...
o.k. now what was up with the dude that just came out of nowhere and took their pic.He took about 3 pics and just yurned around and left. Was he with Tom or was he just a passerby who happened to be rude as fuck.
Awesome piece.I love each member for different reasons. Melvin with that sexy deep voice seemed to be the peacemaker, Otis the boss,Paul the dancer n choreographer, Eddie the dresser/stylist and David the bad boy. I had a soft spot in my heart even more when I found out paul had sickle cell. I hated they didn’t include that in the movie, instead they made him look like a sloppy fall down drunk. I have that disease and it’s a pain disease where u get the same meds they give cancer patients. His drinking was a way to deal with that constant pain. Standing, extensive traveling n dancing would be brutal on your body. I get why he started to drink. We now unfortunately since this was done lost Dennis Edwards. RIP to all the great singers in this band.
@Tom Meros. Thank you for the bios of these Masters of vocalese. The facts and chronology were great to hear. Will never forget seeing the debut season of Dennis with the group at NYC's Madison Square Garden with Gladys Knight/Pips. Had that boon 4pronged microphone and they each had contrasted pastel color suits. Were doing the late great Norman Whitfield's brilliant renditions of psychedelic sound. The Tempts were on top of the galaxy and that is exactly where they took us-next door to heaven.
They didn't shoot a close up shot so unfortunately i cant definitely say he looks exactly like his dad but i think its great that people still pay tribute to one of the greatest singing groups around.
Alot of those songs I first heard from the tv mini series! What a great series! That's one movie I could watch two times in a row and it would not feel redundant!! I could watch it every night for a month and not get tired. I just love that movie. So we'll made.. that and the mini series from a few years before that one. The Jackson Family. An American Dream.. very well made movie
They weren't allowed... how many times have I heard that. Times have gotten better thankfully. the color of the skin doesn't define the person. Let's work on making that a better reality. I loved the original Temps, Paul was so awesome.
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing this history of respect for people that thanks YOU TUBE FOR sharing this story I'm sooooooo blessed to hear this news I get gifts from God all the time soooooo blessed to know God for myself Linda j.peace ☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Thank you for this interview I love the temptations I went with my parents to a concert I guess it was temptations review. They were all so great back then and it’s very hard to come by. And that took a lot of courage to move from Alabama (I live in Georgia) up to Ohio and then Detroit.
+tills mcgills.........David was oh so wrong. People came to see Otis years and years after David's death, and Otis can sing. "I ANT GOT NOTHING" and "DON'T SEND ME AWAY"........These are the two I remember. Don't send me away is a waltz, the kind of romantic song that you'll wind down a party with
