i think he said in the past that this song was hard on his voice, so I'm shocked he sang it in the original key and melody at this point in his life. Man i miss him! God Bless Tom Petty.

This should be released as a blu ray combo with the 1991 Take The Highway performance. They could do a 3rd disc with a great performance from the late 70's or early 80's. Career spanning. Would be epic. And would probably sell alot
I wonder if you can call yourself a fan of a band when there's just one song you're really into? I fell in love with this not too long after it came out, back when my age was in single digits. There are songs I love more, but none I've loved anywhere near as long as this one. And what a magnificent live rendition!
The first date with the love of my life was in the 8 track. I'll never forget this song, always reminds me of him. We went together off and on, then went our separate ways. He got married and so did I. Both ended up getting divorced and got back together. Before we were married he got killed in a car accident, totally devastated me. This always reminds me of him. I love this song.
I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Steve Winwood around that same time here in Washington state at the Gorge Amphitheater. May have been a year or 2 before. It was awesome.

Sounds great! He had to be fit as can be as I’ve hear him struggle with this song when much younger. I wouldn’t want to have to sing it every night lol.
I honestly don't know what I was responding to here or why my comment is by itself. Especially since it was clearly about the Beatles and doesn't seem to have anything to do with Petty. 🤷🏼♂️😂 But as far as this performance goes, it's quite impressive to hear Tom tackle this song in its original key this late in the game.
