I swear...the secret is to never stop doing it. As you get older, the less time can be taken off. Only way to combat the bodies natural want to shut down.

Squatting ass to grass is the best thing you can do for your knees. You'll have to leave your ego at the door and probably drop the weight on the bar by half.

Full range of motion squats and sissy squats are so good for your knees. Keeps the tendons around the knees strong

Because by going all the way down he built not only muscle but knees, tendons, ligaments, joints and yes he squats. I'm 67 and trust me it works. Just don't focus on weight but quality and intensity.

As a normal person, I took on Platz’s leg training technique and philosophy. The results were emasculate, in 12 weeks I added an insane amount of muscle in my quads. I never had a visible vastus medialis or veins on my calves prior to that. There were some weeks that I needed to rest for 6 days or more due how much I had put my legs through, for context my split was 3 days/1 rest with the first day being legs. Platz had his legs for a reason, and that was due to his training techniques and philosophy. There is definitely some truth to his views and methods. Tom Platz has my most utmost respect for his dedication and contributions to bodybuilding. He certainly is THE QUADFATHER! 🙌

Absolutely on point. When Tom talks about intensity, his talking about something most people can’t even imagine. That’s why some people get skeptical about the long resting period.

Tom had the ideal physical proportions to do this as well as extremely durable knees and exceptional ankle flexibility.

Anyone can explain why he was training legs rarely? And whats the logic behind that for them to grow more? Due to the more rest time for them to help completely?
@bodybuildbeast
@bodybuildbeast 7 месяцев назад
Yes, the extended period is crucial for recovery because of the fact that legs are big muscle groups, so they need more time to recover. But take note that if you don’t apply the intensity that Platz is taking about, you don’t need that much rest and you can train legs once a week.

2 weeks is crazy long, I don't think that's good for normal people because can't get good enough work out in to justify such long break, you need got to reach a certain point
@marwandive1571
@marwandive1571 7 месяцев назад
he trained at unbelievably high intensity's, and he always believed if you trained hard, you gotta rest hard
@bodybuildbeast

The intensity that he’s talking about is unimaginable for most people. Trust me if you had enough conditioning to go through one of Tom’s leg workouts, you wouldn’t be even thinking about doing it again after a couple of days or a week.

Someone once told me that the only people who think that this looks good is other guys who look like that. I don't think they were too far off.
