One of my favorites the legendary Tom T Hall at the Peterborough Country Music Festival (UK) 1983, sings a varied set and I was able to be there to see it. A great performance.
When I was five years old Tom T Hall walked back down from his bus exhausted after a show just to sign my autograph book and told me how pretty I was . I will never forget how he took the time for me a huge fan of his ! Thank you for your children’s songs!
A treasured memory for you I know. I hope you've managed to hang onto his autograph all these years. Life sometimes takes our real treasures away but not the memories.
I was just about to start 1st grade . My pop had a cabinet shop right next to Panther Hall in ft worth tx. We always went to see who was playing on Friday nights. I got a lot of autographs as a small child . Cherished memories of a time gone by . I am now 55 years old and what a great childhood to get to meet Tom T Hall and others .
Back in the mid seventies i was living out of my van in Manassas Virginia just down the road from the old Airport. I was living on the river bank because my wife had left me and took my two babies. One night i was sitting in my van when a car pulled up behind me and a man got out and walked up to my window. I thought there was going to be trouble and had my lug wrench in my hand. It was a dark little road. The man asked me if i wanted to come down to there camper by the airport. He said he and another man were waiting for Tom T Hall to come in on a flight and i was welcome to come hang out while they waited for his plane.. I rode down and we sat and drank more than a few beers. I got tired and left before Tom got there. I regret it to this day. I almost drank beer with one of my country music idols. He was from the same area where i was born.
He ended up song Clayton Delaney Tom t Hall sings it could be that the good Lord likes a little picking too and the news of Tom t Hall passing away this year August 20th 2021 just breaks my heart I pray that Tom and Dixie are enjoying the presence of the Lord together picking and a grinning first song I ever heard him sing was ravishing Ruby on my mom's radio in her kitchen ever since then I was hooked on Tom t Hall and his music...🎵💕🎵💕 Suz
I have just discovered Tom T. HALL, what great luck for me, I am going to listen to lots of this man music, Thanks Tom, I hear that you are now resting in peace in Heaven
I just realized recently that Alan Jackson holds his guitar the same way ! I've loved Tom T since I was 4 yrs old!! I just can't get enough of his voice.
THE INCOMPARABLE TOM T. HALL SADLY DEPARTED THE SCENE AT THE AGE OF 85 ON FRIDAY 20 AUGUST 2021 NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN AND REMEMBERED MOST FONDLY FOREVER BY ALL OF THOSE OF US WHO EVER KNEW HIM, MET HIM OR SAW HIM PLAY LIVE - THANKS FOR EVERYTHING TOM - WE WILL REMEMBER. = REMEMBRANCE =.
I was booked to see Tom T Hall in Sale, Victoria in 1981 but got drunk after cricket and missed his appearance. It remains one of the biggest regrets of my life.
Tom t hall was doing a concert 50 years ago when a little girl walked up and requested’Radishes and Rootbeer ‘ Tom told her he didn’t know that one then girl sang a few lines of ravishing Ruby , but said radishes and root beer . Tom did the song for her and belted out radishes and root beer instead of ravishing ruby .Tom was so moved by this request that he soon released,Songs from Fox Hollow ‘ . The album was for kids , and he made a mention of root beer in the song ‘Sneaky Snake ‘. I loved Tom T Hall from the time he released Ballad of forty bucks till even now . REST IN PEACE noble one .
I have never heard a better story teller I think I can say he was a big part of my life and country music. My mother and My brother passed away in the last few years and I was next in line to get all of the cassette tapes and I was going down the road a week ago Tom T hall was in my player.
I think he's at the peak of his musical powers around this time - 1983. He also is so handsome love his voice and his humor. The best country music songwriter ever (along with Merle Haggard).
The people of Northwest Alaska are probably his biggest fans! His songs get requested every single day of the year, and get played every Thursday for Country Thursday on AM 720 KOTZ.❤️
I was lucky enough to see Tom T in concert, here in Australia in the 1970's. I got to chat with him briefly after the show. I asked him about where he got some of the story lines from and he simply said.. "If you, just by chance, hear a chipmunk sneeze, you can bet there is a story behind it" RIP Tom
I was at this festival it was a great weekend. I bought a couple of Tom Ts albums at the festival and after the show I got to meet him He was kind enough to sign them for me. He wrote "my best Tom T Hall on them. A great storyteller and a right gentleman
There's only one Tom T. HALL! I STARTED LOVING HIS MUSIC AS A CHILD. Nowadays I can enjoy his songs traveling the interstate and in such places as Las Vegas as I climb the final hill and there it is......all those beautiful lights at dusk - with Country Is playing on the stereo.....pure goosebumps as that big V-8 carries me up and over. Thank you Tom for having such an effect on me in this beautiful place we love as America!
How could anyone not love Tom T? My daddy loved him and I did and still do. And Tom brought us Johnny Rodriguez. I hear these songs and they take me back to times and places that only exist in memory now. I hope where daddy is that he gets to pick and sing with Tom T.
Tom T. Hall always had a style of country music that matches up with what ever the helping of life is, for example the song Blackberry Dreams, one my favorites by him, so beautifully done, a genuine description of something that could be a part of your joy in life....., rest in peace my good friend, your music still does it for me...., Robert. ☺ 🇺🇸.
Tom T Hall is one artist that has hidden gems of songs on his LP albums. One song I remember from the music cave when I worked in radio was “Strawberry Farms” . An odd thing I remember too is that one of the best album compilations released back in the 80’s was Tom T Hall greatest Hits on K-Tel records. It had every keeper on there. A mint copy would probably be worth plenty today even though the records were crap in quality. How the6 allowed all those hits on one album was very unusual. They had others on K-tel that came close but Tom’s was there very best. Prove me wrong.
Exactly 👏🏼 we are forever indebted! Thank you sir for your contributions to this wonderful world of music, wouldn’t have been the same without you 🤙 RIP 🪦
My favorite among all his songs ( but they're all wonderful ) is Who's Gonna Feed Them Hogs. My family had, as we grew up, couple hundred head of hogs. If you don't feed hogs they will tear fences down and destroy property.
Rest in an everlasting perfect peace. Your storytelling music will always be remembered and also used in immortalizing your name, the greatest storytelling musician, Tom T Hall You left your foot print indelibly on the Sand of our modern time in music industry. Adieu, Tom.
Tom made the would jump with joy and sing along to anything he put words too. My dad got a kick out of "Sneaky Snake" and I can't say I didn't smile every time I heard it as well. Before my father past I found out my wife "Cookie" would dance and sing along with that song when my dad played it. Man you should have seen the sparkle in her eyes. If you've never seen a song make people laugh, cry, and get a sparkle in their eye, you have never heard "Tom T. Hall" Thank God Tom is still alive.
