Tom Welling opening up here on the idea of him being somewhat lonely while being the lead character on one of the biggest shows of its time… and why his decisions lead to this.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Smallville's Clark Kent/ Superman Is Back... Tom Welling joins the show this week and opens up a ton on the idea of creativity, and the lack of that when operating out of anger and being in survival mode. Tom talks about opening up to the idea of being genuine and authentic and shedding the false idea of perfection. We also get into trickle down emotions given from our parents, how we each handle anxiety, and of course…. Some BTS from our time on Smallville.

I've always been a loner and think friends are overrated. If you can find TRUE friendship that is rare and special. But these days most friendships are started out of some sort of need. It isn't fully genuine. One person is more invested than the other. I am EXTREMELY loyal. So everytime I am let down I feel it 10x more than the average person. So like Welling I enjoy solitude and just focusing on women I date and my financial security. Life is simpler when you have less people around.
@RynAwara
@RynAwara 3 года назад
I know what you're saying but one could argue that any friendship starts out of need, maybe not help or convenience, but a need for social interaction. Sometimes you need a laugh, company or aid, and there's nothing wrong inherently with that. Friends, acquaintances, and everything in that spectrum are nice to have. The key is to be laid back and do the right things (without overexerting yourself) because they're the right things to do, not because you expect reciprocity
@ryandeffley7652
@ryandeffley7652 3 года назад
@@RynAwara - No one "expects" reciprocity. But you do get resentful of one sided dynamics. I mean deep down you begin to notice if you're the one always reaching out, if you're the one always planning stuff, if you're always listening to others talk about themselves and never asked anything, etc.. I just get sick of investing in selfish people. So it is easier just to rely on myself, make fantastic money, and date really hot women. I've never been happier since I cut "friends" out of my life.

Privacy and so considerate about been discreet about personal stuff. I thought they equally didn’t want babies. But Tom’s current wife and baby make me wonder. Seems she was unhappy been just the wife of, and maybe too comfortable been take care of. But not supportive of him, doing right by him. And she left him. She filed. Just fact checked. Later on she didn't ride as much but got into the breeding of horses, and makes good money with that. She still has the stallion her and Tom bought in 2010 or 2011. They talked about starting a family on the radio interview they did together in 2011, but wasn't long after that they separated. In the comments section I'm seeing a lot of people talking about their teenage experience back when smallville was on air. Here's mine: Yeah I remember when I was in high school anytime I overheard people talking about shows like Smallville or shows like Revolution wherever I told people that I watched the same shows they told me to get the f*** out of here in a hostile way not in a comical way.. honestly my high school was so f****** prejudice I even went through the same experience when I started to play lacrosse when I ran track when I started to become more popular. Even last year when there was a high school reunions these Prejudice kids would only notify class of 2009 alumni students only if they knew the student almost 60% of the class of 2009 were not even notified the only reason I know this for sure is because I found comment all over my high school class alumni page talking about how they were not notified about the reunion... ironic the person that was in charge of the event was one of the kids who told me to get the f*** out of here.. people say you grow with age more wisdom more intelligence but honestly these people they still act like they're in the 9th grade. Then when I went to college it was completely different whenever I overheard people talked about supernatural it was a complete different experience. Edit: psychology why's there are some things you can't get over especially when a senior is telling you to get the f*** out of here when you are only 14 or 15 years old. It was more than one person who told me to get the f*** out of here when I said that I watch Smallville it was a few people in my class and a couple of seniors. The behavior counselor didn't even give a s*** one time he try to blame me for some kind of instant just because I looked like I was Spanish the principal made him and the police officer apologize

Amazing he's my same age 43, and he's gone fully gray hair... Still looks to be in "Super" good shape tho... Sad he never fully embraced the role of a lifetime, and will forever be known as "What could have been" as this genarations "Superman" he will always be the guy who was about to become that, and really cement a legacy in movies, and tv. Now he's just an actor who did a show for a decade who can't find work because mostly nobody wants to work with him cus most of the fanbase don't care about him after he literally keeps letting us down over, and over again with ignoring the wishes of fans world wide since his days on Smallville. He seems like a nice guy and all but one who really let down Millions of fans world wide by never embracing becoming the Superman the fans wanted to see on the big screen even when given the chances HE turned it down.
@mikeattard3543

I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure it was entirely his own choice alone. Did any movie studio ever seriously consider him for the movie role, though? Most movie studios look at small screen actors and think they're just that--TV actors. I agree, he's the best Clark/Superman I've ever seen, and I also know he never had the same attachment to the role that the fans of the show did, but it seems to me no one ever really made that kind of offer, either. It's hard for me to believe he would have said no if WB had said, "Hey, we want you to be Superman in a full-length movie and make $10 million per movie on a 3-picture deal."
@InsideThaJackalsHead
@InsideThaJackalsHead 3 года назад
@@mikeattard3543 He was asked before Bryan Singer was to direct, and he auditioned for the movie but ended up turning it down at the time because he didn't want to become "SUPERMAN" and do both tv, and movies. His choice. But now he can't find work, and he's lost a majority of the shows fans over the last decade due to his own not wanting to embrace the role. He also didn't even embrace it in the final seasons or episodes of the show. Further more the "RIP SHIRT" at the end of the finale of the show had the "LOGO" cgi into a blue shirt he wore. Dude wouldn't even put on a "Superman shirt" at the end... He's a big let down, and it's his own fault he's not a bigger star, and doesn't bigger movies. He's got nobody but himself to blame.

@@InsideThaJackalsHead Bullsh*t. Welling could not do both the movie and continue Smallville. He's talked about that at panels. They would have had to cancel the show to cast him in the movie, which would have caused the rest of the Smallville cast and crew to lose their jobs. So he chose to continue with the show. And he takes on roles whenever he wants to. He did a season of Lucifer and has a new show with Brendan Fraser called Professionals.
