Every now and then I come back to this to remind myself of what I love about Tomb Raider. The beautfiul and deadly environments, the serene atmosphere, the sense of adventure and discovery. All of this has been missing for too long.

This is excactly how a remake should be made, the same in mechanics, just slightly tweaked. Improved visuals and FPS. Improved soundtrack and effects. I can't Imagine THIS on the latest engine in 2021.

20:20 that lighting....! I love the feeling that you're truly delving deep into the bowels of this structure. Very much remiscent of the classic era.

This remake is perfection! This is the Tomb Raider game I'm waiting for! I would buy this in a heartbeat! These new Tomb Raiders have nothing on this beautiful remake. It Almost makes me tear up with nostalgia.

The new games lack the fear factor. I got chills when that spiked wall closed in on her. Oh boy that was intense.

I miss this game so much. I also miss taking my time to figure out what to do, not being sure where to climb or how to get in and out of places.

I am absolutely stunned at the detail put in to this; particularly at the 6:05 mark where the music cue from the original was redone. That short piece of music was my favorite from the second game and I can't believe someone took the time to re-score it. I truly wish this game could have been redone as the first one was, and this video proves it could have been done brilliantly.

My God I didn't even know about this remake for two years. Nostalgia hit so hard, this was one game series that had a Soul ❤

Really enjoying how silent this game is, Lara talking to herself out loud wasn't really my cup of tea.

This is absolutely incredible! Superbly made with crazy-good graphics and very enjoyable to watch! The nostalgia hits hard too. I'm not a gamer, but I did play Tomb Raider 2 (amongst a few others) way back in 2001 and loved it, and this brings it back in a really good way.

I'd love a Tomb Raider game where the main thing is exploring and discover new cultures. None of that Trinity - Daddy Issues..

Played every Tomb Raider from the start. Love this remake! Would love to buy this game, you nailed the cinematography! This is how Lara Croft was originally in Tomb Raider, this is how the games are meant to be. The new ones are too much gone the route of Uncharted, which is another great series, but Lara Croft should have been kept the way it was...

I miss it so much! Tomb Raider nowadays looks like Netflix interactive movies, where u just watch it and press a button once in a while.

I cried at 6:02 because it's *EXACTLY* that sort of moment that made Tomb Raider an instant classic. The haunting music, the sense of wonder, gorgeous vistas, and the realization that you're all alone in these fascinating places far away from civilization (while surrounded by ancient history) is everything that made me fall in love with this series. I see a lot of comments about how a game like this wouldn't sell in today's market. I don't think so. I actually think Crystal Dynamics are doing themselves a huge disservice by chasing trends and turning Lara into a hunting / stealth kill simulator. I can guarantee you that a game like this would sell millions of copies and the fact this video has a little over million views backs it up.

It is incredible how simple and yet how complex the remake version of this legendary music is. I could not count how many tracks are overlapping each other, they are composed in absolutely perfect harmony.

Amazing job, what a nice graphic! A game like this (all jumping and no story) would make me bored soon, but it's really magical the work they did here with the environment reconstruction. Chapeau!

Just learned about this remake like weeks ago. My old wish of seeing another Anniversary-esque remake is suddenly coming true, and I'm suddenly feeling excited for a TR game again. Lol.

Just came back to this video after seeing the newest trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider... I think it's time I realized that classic Lara is dead and Square will never bring her back. I just hope people continue to make amazing work like this , that actually pays homage to the original games.

I’m replaying Tomb Raider 2 now actually ☺️ It’s only in the old games that you have to run around to find a switch to open a door to a room on the other side that has a key to the underwater room below which has a circuit breaker that you need to replace somewhere just to open another door near where you started the level loll

I just played the demo and it's absolutely amazing! It's difficult, just like in the old times, and the controls and moveset are very Anniversary-like. It makes you think hard, sometimes you get stuck and you try different things until you make it through, as the old games did. Can't wait when this remake is finished. Wish the development team all the best.

Love this. The best tomb raider game yet is made with the level design of the original with new controls. Loved Tomb raider anniversary.

even this seems to miss the point of the original games. the new tomb raiders (and this seems as well) have some kind of node-based 'press X to parkour' style climbing and movement, whereas the old games were press X to jump exactly 2 terrain units and it was up to the player to judge distances and time grabs

This is something that I have always dreamed of. My childhood of playing Tomb Raider 2 on Playstation was probably my fondest memory. And this game just brings on so much nostalgia.

I wonder how this was made to resemble the style of Anniversary. Was it a conscious decision to mimic the style or did they receive some assets from Anniversary? Like the sound fx and mechanics? Can anyone answer this? I'd really like to know :) Thanks.

I've just finished the demo on my PC today, as I've been leaving it in the cold for a few months while turning to other games. I must say what a game demo it is! The smartness of the puzzle design definitely justifies it being true to the old school Tomb Raider. Seriously, Square Enix needs to hire better level designers who are capable of making this kind of clever stuff.

This looks amazing. I feel like I know what to expect, but it still exceeds my expectations.

Just one cinematic, at the start. Then it's all adventure! Without chalked indications where to climb / explore. The Lara is very well made. I would replace the yellow "take/use" hand icon with something else though, and the noise from the pistols is way too heavy to my taste. The original music is very fitting! This classic Tomb Raider i love, and it's way better than what CD (*edit: i mean Cristal Dynamics) made of it. No sniffy dramatic scenes and all kinds of herbs and stuff you have to collect to brew weapons from in a complex menu etcetera. Shirrako, when can i buy this full game?
