Well Saban said it out loud in "The Toys Made Us" that it's just a marketing ploy to sell action figures, while the aspects of production like the casting and writing goes dead last, cuz he only cared about money and not the safety of the cast and crew. Hence being non-union for 30 YEARS is the death nail for the franchise and most of the veterans never got the Hollywood dream they deserved.
