I don't care how small his company is. a $3,500 gun not working out of the box is unacceptable. Also, he's known for having QC issues in his guns. Not just the MP7s.
So, he sent out a gun that doesn't function for 90% of people and its the customers fault for buying it? Genuinely trying to understand your point of view.
What are you talking about? I never said anything about it being anyone’s fault for being upset they are having issues. I’m saying in my experience, if there is an issue he’ll get it fixed. I had an issue. It got fixed. That simple.
@Steve_MP5 you literally said shame on the owners and also said it's wrong to critize him etc... I have more. I love Tommy. He does great work but he and his team didn't do this well and didn't handle it well. If you do t get that ypu haven't done enough researchor seen what all has happenedto everyone. He literally tells people it ran great found nothing wrong. People get it back and it's still forsnt work. Also he talked some crap to some people. He's great though I know stress is getting to him, but your bias because you have a little envy to Tommy. Everyone else doesnt. Do more research read some of the people's interactions with him then come back. Still he's a great guy. In the end its all his fault and he gas to take the abuse for a situation he caused . No one else caused it.
@@johnmarsh6337of course I can’t monitor what every little thing has been said or done, nor do I need to. I’ve seen stuff. There are folks in these comments that are going a little too hard which is sus. He’s a grown man and will do what he wants. I was just pointing out that maybe consider what he was trying to bring to market on his own and to give a little room for improvement and make guns right that aren’t working. But because I showed a positive experience an am not bashing the man like the other handful of videos, I’m a simp. 😂. There’s probably hundreds of guns out there on the first drop so 6 people are posting they have bad experience, including me, but mine was fixed. I’ve seen many on the forum said theirs runs out of the box. This bad reviews don’t necessarily make up the vast majority of customers. No one knows how many had issues or went back. Everyone lives to bash for views. Not saying people don’t have legitimate claims. But for people to come from those videos to mine and hate on me because I don’t have that experience is 🤡 s*** and suspect 😂
No matter what you have to say, this thing doesn't work as it should. He absolutely sent out guns that knowingly didn't function properly. Mike Otte was one man making MM21E's & MM23's with no problems, there you go.
Probably got one of the only working T7 straight from tommy. Steve Probably got a cherry picked t7 from Tom himself to save his rep and payed handsomely too. Funny it's the only vid of a working t7 anywhere.
Did you actually watch the video? Clearly not. I appreciate you saying I’m a big channel, but he didn’t need the exposure. I fell in line like everyone else.
2:08 absolutely yes i do. Majority of people will.only shoot a few mags and never send it back, so he is still making bank even if a small percentage send theirs back in.
"Let's be honest here; Do you think this man would send out damaged or non-working guns deliberately?... He's gonna have to bring it back...spend more money" (2 minutes later, after describing multiple issues) "Mine, I didn't send back" 😂 Yes, I think that's entirely possible because that seems to be exactly what happened. All they had to do was test fire them. It wouldn't be the first company to produce and send out a jam-o-matic. Manufacturers have discovered that many customers don't want to deal with sending their firearms back and forth for repairs and would rather trade them in/sell their problems to someone else. Especially a firearm that has hype around it, is selling over MSRP and has suckers lining up to get a hold of it.
@@Steve_MP5 Supports my point; Many customers do not send firearns back. Does not support your point; He would incur cost of bringing back every firearm w/ issues. That is KNOWN by manufacturers, and can be factored into the sales price. The offer is irrelevant to my point. You asked the ? do we HONESTLY think a firearm would be shipped w/ known issues. You got the answer, honestly.
@@d.i.m.eproductions6925 not a single part is from an mp7. I heard that too. But in reality it's all outsourced aftermarket (at cheapest way possible of course).
Idk about you, but sending out a firearm that doesn’t operate correctly isn’t a good thing. It’s nothing to risk your or any one’s safety or life. Huge liability. Regardless of a small or large company. If QC ain’t up to par DO NOT send it out.
Okay I’m going to be as objective as I can be, what you said before the muffled stuff I couldn’t really understand super well. It is true he is a small manufacturer and he is providing something that no one else is, and to his credit that is absolutely true. He also was unfairly treated by the ATF back in the day so I do have a soft spot for TB. That said, after all of the reviews I’ve watched and having been a TB customer myself, the T7 being 3500 dollars and not working isn’t acceptable. That isn’t saying he can’t fix the issues, that’s not saying he needs to be run out of business, it’s just flatly not acceptable and needs to be addressed. Especially when people are dropping another 2k on cans, optics, and the ammo, that would REALLY suck. Additionally, he has had QC issues with some of his TG36s, and out of a sample size of 3 rifles I’ve personally tried to run, 2 out of 3 of them just didn’t work exactly like the T7 is right now. He does his best with customer service and is prompt as he can be. It’s to the point where I am going to try his UMP9 build just to see if it runs because it looks cool. But at a minimum, that’s not exactly a good QC track record for the price of the product being sold. The way this came off a bit was you running defense for tommybuilt, you may not have intended that, but it’s how it sounded having watched the full video. I ultimately really want TB products to work because like you said, he is providing something to the market everyone wants but no one is doing. But this IS unacceptable no matter which way you want to cut it regardless.
Thanks for this. Now I know to never take your opinion on any product seriously again. Bad look, homie. The gun is a bust. He had known issues before this whole debacle. Do some of his conversions work? Seems like the ones that knowingly go to RU-vidrs do, sure. Any other channel with lower sub counts seem to all have major issues with a wide variety of his products. For the price of entry, this should’ve never happened. There should have been a delay. And communication to pre-order customers to manage expectations. This is a bad look, dude. 👍
I don't think Tom intentionally sent these out knowing they weren't working. I do, however, think he sent them out without hardly an QC. And I do think he could have set the expectations better prior to purchasing them that there may be issues and that he was ready and willing to take care of them. The description of the gun on his website reads "a testament to precision and quality" and "meticulously crafted". But then when people started having issues with the gun they spent the $3500 on, who knows how much on mags, ammo, accessories his response was "don't expect perfection". That is a pretty dramatic change in tone from the product description. The company could be 1 person, or 1 million people, if you send a product out your door that falls apart as soon as it gets in the customers hands that is on the business not the customer. Mine is en route back to Tom as we speak, I hope to make the badass video that I had planned in the first place when it comes back. The outcome of that video is entirely up to Tom now, I will continue to be transparent and honest as I believe all content creators should.
@@KingslayerBeforeDawn but - the HKPRO guys will try and spin the fact that people spent a lot of money for a dud. It'a the customer's fault, don't you know?
Then they should send it back to be fixed. Mine had those same issues with being single shot and double feeds. It may have just been that green box ammo because it’s not consistent. But it could have been a combination of that and a bad extractor. As seen here, there were no issues on all the ammo that wasn’t the green box.
@@Steve_MP5there’s a new video out of a guy that made a video on his not working that dude send it back and Tom said he tested it and had 0 failures. Guy got it back and it’s worse than before. Originally it would shoot Fiocchi ammo, but not Hornady. Now it won’t cycle either.
imo he knew of the problems, and sold them anyway. im trying to understand why he rushed it, and didnt fix the problems beforehand, and one reason that comes to mind is that he wanted to bring these to market well before psa brings there mp7 clone. psa mp7 clone will be much cheaper than tommys, and i think alot of people would rather buy that one, because more than likely it will run much better, and be more reliable. i understand that it will be a different caliber, but to alot of people i dont think that matters too much. for some it definitely will, but the psa mp7 clone would not help tommybuilts sales thats for sure. theres no way he didnt know of all these problems, and thats a big slap in the face to his customers. im a business owner myself, and i dont give a damn about money compared to my honor, dignity, and reputation.we only have our balls, and our word in this world.
I hear your points. There will be a place for the PSA but anyone that is an HK enthusiast, this is the only option. It’s a great copy and the correct caliber. If you want an MP7, this is it. He says he test fires them all before they go out, it is possible that you see no problems in 5-10 rounds. People he get them that see issues he takes them back and fixes them. I’m not sure what’s wrong with that? From what I’ve seen and heard on the forums he has offered to bring back everything that had had an issue to fix. That is great customer service.
>"You gotta give him a break!" >$3,500 paperweight >"The stuff he makes wouldn't be available if it weren't for him!" >The stuff he makes is hardly available because almost none of it works, or requires so much fiddling that it's hardly worth persuing Anyone considering anything Tom makes, do yourself a favor and just go buy an AR off the shelf of your local shop and spend the extra you'd spend on QC'ing his products for him and buying super expensive magazines from weird ass website on ammo and training.
I am sorry, but this T7 was a bust from Tommy Built. YOU SHOULD NOT have to sit there and play with the stock to make it easier to go in. Its a jam-o-matic gun, it has problems with the pins that keep the gun together. This run was a failure and Tommy should STOP selling these until he fixes EVERYTHING. This is NOT a cheap purchase.
Do you have evidence that a high percentage of the guns sold don’t work? Or are the handful of videos showing people having problems count as all of them? People like to talk negative for views. Mine didn’t work, now it does. I’m sure there are many people that don’t post videos online that have no problems. You know nothing about my character. I wouldn’t have said I had issues with mine and said everything was perfect if I was simping
Plenty of successful businesses ship products that they know aren’t up to par the firearms industry is a great industry to do this because a lot ppl never fire their guns most never fire more than 100 rounds. Great job being this to the market but if you’re gonna charge 3.5k you should have a 3.5k product and service.
That is certainly plausible. Do you own anything by Tom? Have you ever had an issue? If not then I don’t think you can really speak on the level of service he provides for his products. Anything I’ve ever heard about his service, counting my own experience, it is top notch. Better, quicker, and more responsive than any major manufacture I’ve dealt with.
$4k it better run any ammo you put in it. To make a long story short they sent out something that wasn’t functioning properly. They should recall or refund till the issues are fixed.
@@jonmoate4184people always shit on China and Mexico quality but have you ever worked in an American manufacturing company? People are lazy and don't give a shit about quality and higher ups give even less shis about quality, they just want quantity. I don't give a shit where it's made as long as it works.
It shows 5 stars next to the T7 like people are giving it good customer reviews on the website. There are no reviews though, Tom just gave himself 5 stars. Wtf is thus?
I wish Tom's project well but c'mon....you don't release something without proper testing, testing and more testing. There's some obvious design flaws. Now, credit to him, he is a pioneer and he is trying to make it right with everyone but he could have avoided such headaches with a little more bug testing. I'm afraid the community rushed him to bring it to market.
Tommy with the T7 is like the "pink sauce" of firearms, sent out to fill pre-orders nation wide with little QC. Just going with the flow of feedback in the process.
I disagree that Tommybuilt should be given a break because "it's a one man operation." If that's they case every gun should have been tested by Tommy personally before being sent out. Since ammo is so rare, each gun should have been tested on all four brands. If that had been done, these issues would have been ID'd long before shipping. Rushing to ship a new product is always a disaster. The only thing I can think of, is Tommybuilt needed to offset their losses from stopping their conversion business.
I’m not being mean. But this must be the most optimistic response of the day. But I am on your side. I wish they would too. But they won’t. I’m glad I own a T7
Tom has gone above and beyond on his T7. I have a T36 and UMP. I will more than likely end up with this T7. I sincerely hope Tom doesn't get blinded by the popularity and rushes production. Back in early 2000 Todd Bailey of Special Weapons brought HK 94 clones to the market. He had a huge demand and he got sloppy which earned him a bad name.
It's obvious that Tommy didn't send out broken guns on purpose but the frequency of people on RU-vid showing off their broken guns that they paid a lot of money for, tells you Tommy should have done more QC on his product. Guns should not be like modern gaming where it can be patched later. The consumer should not be paying to beta test a product. This is why I am not getting the PSA Dagger or JAKL simply because they still have plenty of problems since launch
I hear you and understand your point, but as far as I know, Tom didn’t out 20 million into R&D like any huge company may have. Even those companies have issues. The point is if you have problem, it’ll get taken care of, but I can see the frustration for some. That can be hard to say with other large companies. Further more, this is a fun, range toy, and collectors piece for most. Sure I was sad that it didn’t run right out of the box, but like I said, he’ll get it taken care of and it works now.
Anecdotal evidence I know, but my dagger runs flawless so far, I even ran extremely old tulammo in it. I trust it enough to carry it in the woods at least, not for EDC yet
@@Pavia1525yeah for the $300 I put into mine, I’m not disappointed with the purchase at all, and I feel that I got my moneys worth. Haven’t experienced a malfunction with it yet. I run Glock mags in mine, I don’t trust the PSA mags for it
@@d.i.m.eproductions6925 True but with the occisional lemons, and the price point, you CAN'T be mad at PSA because how hard is it to fuck up a Glock gen 3 clone? With Tommybuild, it's different. A price range that requires a mortgage to buy, you expect it to work out of the box. People didn't spend almost 4K and more for a toy gun that doesn't work
He gets no pass for the guns not running. If it had some quirk like the safety’s broke after 5k rounds or some shit then sure. But not working with a select few ammo options out there is just not acceptable.
Haven’t been back to the range yet with it since this video. Was waiting for the can to come back from BT to see if that helps with the added back pressure.
I hope it breaks in and works for you, having a gun that doesnt work with 25% of the available ammo types would be a bummer, since theres really only 4 loads available right now. I’m hoping to make a part two video on my friends T7 as it is now back from Tommybuilt and should be fixed, hopefully.
@@WVGunsNGoatsI saw the dudes video that was having issues after he got it back. From what I’ve heard, that green box stuff that gives me issues is over 10 years old and has found to have hard primers. If it’s a bad ammo issue then there’s nothing you can do about bad primers. That will be the same for everyone. End of the day this is a caliber made for a specific gun that only seen military use. Not many options out there right now. It’s just a niche gun. Niche ammo. There are hunters out there that will only shoot 1 brand and 1 load. You can draw some parallels with that. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Steve_MP5 Hey thats true, and yeah that box of 4.6 now that i got to look at it again is the older fiocchi ammo box, so i can believe it being that old, probably some of the first stuff available on the US market. True, some people only stick with one type of ammo in their gun as well, and how much is someone gonna shoot one of these? It's unknown really, some people shoot more than others of course. It looks like you're enjoying it and thats what counts.
Hard to ignore how alot of these guns went out with last minute machining apparent AFTER the gun was finished. And many are experiencing NEW problems AFTER ‘break in’ to include pins falling out, allowing for bolt/carrier wobble, and UNINTENDED DISCHARGES as a result. $3500+ is a lot to invest in a hope and a prayer. I totally get wanting to believe, and trying to be patient… but this degree of apologist is… rough to watch. Here’s hoping, but from the flashing on the plastic, to questionable last minute machine work, to the guns falling apart when fired… these are the most expensive wall-hangers in history! Honestly they’re not even reliable enough to be called ‘range toys’, yet.
All due respect, you or anyone has any idea how many have those issues. You see the bad posts from people. I’ve heard many stories on the form of them working out of the box. The small percentage seems to be making people think it is 100%. But you can certainly have an opinion. My opinion ion is it isn’t a fair one 🤷🏻♂️
@@Steve_MP5 You’re absolutely correct, I don’t know how many work… but the two I handled didn’t. I’ve yet to see anything but anecdotal proof of a single one that does (ie. video). And there are many, MANY, showing them falling apart and not functioning. Including yours. Just an opinion? Absolutely. But an opinion by someone who has no horse in the race. You’re into yours for what, >$5k when you factor in parts, mags, and suppressor? That’s a bit, and I appreciate it’s hard to be objective under those circumstances. I do hope it works out for the beta testers. And I’ll admit it… if the bugs get worked out… I’ll pay the man too, for sure.
No. In this video I said mine had issues at first and then it was fixed when I had a new bolt sent. My second video showed the clips of the issues I had. Which is the same stuff I showed him.
I’ve had no issues since my new bolt. Who knows I may get more as time goes on. I don’t have as many rounds through it as he does now. I have probably 600 post bolt and it has been fine. Only issues are with the green box. Blue box is good
Dude this thing is fucking junk you don’t give someone a break who’s selling broken trash Q is a larger company sure but they’re on their own and do their shit in house as well I spent 3k on the honey badger it’s fucking amazing I’m a fan of Q for being different but if they sold me a gun that didn’t work I wouldn’t be cutting them any kind of slack cause it’s a fucking 3000 dollar gun
Comment sections like this sometimes kill my faith in the firearms community. People really like to just hate and jump to conclusions on certain products and companies. Brand new products built from the ground up are always gonna have growing pains before they actually run well consistently. It usually takes even large gun companies a ton of R&D to finally get a firearm to work. The only real test is when it hits the market and the masses can find the issues. So many guns have to go through multiple generations of the same design before they get it right. Not trying to brush off the issues people have been having, but I don't think Tommybuilt deserves the amount of hate he's been getting over this. I hope TommyBuilt keeps working on it and bringing cool products that allow us to enjoy really awesome H&K designs for many years to come.
It's a rough patch for sure, unfortunately, negativity speaks louder than positivity. People will be quick to post the ones that don't work. You can see the same thing in retail. More people will be willing to leave a complaint or negative survey after "bad service" but if they received great service will just go on about their day. Im glad he's fixing the bad ones. I just hope all the people who made bad vids make sure they come back with the good ones afterwards. A certain RU-vidr, who will go unnamed, did NOT do that for the T36.
@@SmokeNGunsBBQEh, they aren't wrong, the analogy might be a bit weird but same thing happens with gun use. You'll hear about a situation that puts firearms in a bad light far sooner than you'll hear about the good.
@@SmokeNGunsBBQ You came back after 4 days just to troll? Aren't you too old for that? Or do you truly believe that a self defense use of a firearm will hit the news and spread the way a shootout does 🤔

I agree. The 2A group is as bad as the left sometimes. Why aren't we supporting this small company? He is trying to do his best to take care of everyone. Service is dead these days. So, everyone needs to try to quit being such screaming purple haired babies, and let this get figured out like decent people would. Is he doing the right thing with his product? I believe he is doing his best. That is what's important. We don't need to crush new, smaller 2A business. It's bad for us all when we do. Let's remember the most popular American rifle had alot of problems too in the beginning. I would love to have one of these. This will get better and less expensive if we support the man.

I dont have many rounds through mine yet - but i honestly know that if I end up needing to fine tune my first generation build - Tom Bostic wont miss a beat in providing outstanding customer service. Folks we got a custom built MP7 clone - that no other company (big or small) dared to produce for us. Generation 1 is generation 1 - expect refinement with time and testing. :D
So, let me get this straight. People are supposed to just accept a product that costs $3500 that's malfunctioning because only a couple people work there. What you're saying is dude has almost zero payroll to employees, makes millions of dollars himself instead of doing right by his customers and hiring a quality control team? Your logic makes absolutely no sense. Dude only has 3 or 4employees, is the only one currently offering a widely popular weapon system, is selling it for premium price, for a price that is typically reserved for weapons that run flawlessly, and so because he cuts corners refusing to hire the appropriate staffing to ensure high level performance or...."Perfection", he pumps out these guns with poor performance, zero QC,and then uses as his excuse that it's a small company. It's shameful to excuse this poor customer service by making excuses for him, wheb the reality is he's being cheap and greedy. He wants to have it both ways. The awesome reputation of a small company that releases perfect products, but that earns money like it's got a staff of 250 people working for them.
