Once can be enough to kill someone. A 100,000 throughout a career is ridiculous in itself. If it's anywhere near a million it's a miracle there aren't way more deaths.
I agree with Tony here re it's coming. We know what's coming, I know it's coming we just hope that when it comes that I'm in my 70s not 40s or 50s. But, I've been able to give my kids a good life and for me that makes it all worth while
@@supersai4198 no, it’s you who doesn’t understand the maths, in order to get 952 a week, he’d have to get hit on average 136 times a day, times it by 7, so your point is completely and utterly invalid. This 136 shot is an average based on 50,000 a year, times by 22 divided by the number of days within the 22 years, that’s 8030 days. That’s 136 shots to the head a day, only if he’s done it every single one of the days for 22 years and never, ever missed a day. Usyk didn’t even hit him 136 times to the head, nor has any other fighter and if he’s getting hit 136 times a day in the head in sparing, you aren’t surviving the year 😂 point is, 1100000 is a ludicrous number, there’s not a chance in hell he’s taking 136 shots a day to the head for 22 years day in day out with no breaks, for every day he misses, the average would go up, so this is a really conservative number, considering he’s clearly had days off/Hollidays and fights (in which he didn’t have 136 headshots in) now go away you tool.
50,000/yr so about 1,000 a week. If they have a weekend of two days off that means every working day a boxer gets hit in the head 200 times? That feels very high, if true I didn’t realise it was that much
And this is why boxing is 10 times more brutal than mma. Mma fighters can find a way to quit and its called a “ submission “ A boxer who decides to quit is booed and classed as a quitter.
Equates to about 140 punches a day, every day of the year. Whilst it’s important to highlight the dangers boxers put themselves through for our entertainment, I think Tony’s maths might be a little off.
One interesting anecdote - Max Holloway will be a UFC hall of famer. He stopped sparring all together a couple years ago and has never looked sharper. His striking has been sensational. Something to think about.
Let’s say a fighter throws 50 punches in a round and every fight lasted 12 full rounds, that’s 600 punches per fight. Bellew had 34 fights, that means in his career he’s faced roughly around 20,400 punches. He had 47 amateur fights, 3 rounds in the amateurs.. So that’s roughly 7,050 punches in the amateurs. You can’t estimate how many he’s faced in sparring so in total you’re looking at around 27,000 punches in the amateur’s and professional. His estimation of over 1 million is laughable, it’s absolutely nowhere near.
On a serious note. This is why its a business. We love to see them fight the best. Ko’s. Blood. But reality is if your not smart you will have no life in later life. So for you family sake maybe you avoid someone. Maybe you fight 1/2 times a year. More awareness now then 30 yrs ago and more money = less big fights. End of the day, your health and family come 1st.
CTE is just a fact... So is Combat CTE (the CONCUSSIONS, micro and nano concussions are real and obvious with modern combat teeth arms as combat changed with GWOT) , WHICH IS RECOGNISED IN USA and other countries but not by British Government or NHS....Physical injury that's symptoms mimic a metal health issues.
No way. No boxer is taking 50,000 blows to the head each year. 4 fights a year, probably 200 punches a fight. So where are the other 49,200 punches coming from. And don't say sparring. I think he's taken a couple hard blows to the head because he's not making sense
But it all depends on the damage you are taking no every boxer/fighter suffers from brain damage it’s all depends on your style look at Floyd for example he’s mastered hood defence and managed make it out fine I don’t think every boxers estimates to 1 million punches a year Simon Jordan always like to bring up the negatives about the sport I think he interrupts people to
Got a concussion properly at the min. Never felt nothing like it. I now understand why these american footballers and ex fighters blast people in the fsce or shoot people. Your almost always tired, you work out a lil and you feel sick and headache. You're anxious and angry a lot of the time. It 100% chsnges you. It was a week from my fight ive been trying to get a fight all year avoided in my country finally grt s fight abroad and this happens. Part of me wonders if ill ever be back. Its a scary horrible plsce to be. Id make a mistake driving someone would beep me i honestly was itching for them to pull over so i could properly do them in. Nothing like me at all
tbh if you account for sparing conditioning ect it could be about right he’s been an amatuer since young and has boxed till his mid 30s that’s 2 decades would only need about 20 shots in the head a day to accumulate that
To be hit on the head 1.1m times over a 22 year career, it would work out to 136 headshot EVERY SINGLE DAY over that 22 years. His numbers are off....which kinda proves his point.
@@kevinmcnab5670 it’s not off tho? tony sparred daily he said this it’s apart of a boxers conditioning to get punched in different areas. i’d consider 136 to be quite low for most pros
@Uranium I'm sure he did when he was in camp but that wasn't every day and even then, if he's taking 130 odd punches a day, JUST TO THE HEAD, then he's probably best served working on his guard but I assure you he didn't. Much more likely that he fudged his numbers.
