The patience and emotional control necessary to navigate a conversation like this is beyond me.

I feel like Rick has laid on a couch and talked to a therapist about Tony on more than one visit.

I am a massive Tony Hinchcliffe fan. I've watched hundreds of hours of Kill Tony and have yet to see anyone command a room like he does. That said, Tony's got some serious issues. Maybe those issues allow him to operate at the level that he does, I don't know. I applaud Rick for embarking on a conversation like this with him. If communicative intelligence is a thing, then Rick's at the top of the class. But to have a completely good faith conversation with Tony, especially around the topic of his ego and the way his personality has developed so heavily around it, which is what the elephant in the room was here, it's a tall ass order. Huge respect for you Rick, you earned a new fan.

Rick, this podcast is great. I just feel like you need to hear that as often as possible, because the views are not at all comparable to the quality at the moment.

wow this was fantastic. it was heated, emotional, and still had deep conversation about true art and each of your different definitions of it. There were moments were i thought this would go off the rails, but you guys kept it on track and made a hell of a podcast. long time Tony Hinchcliffe fan and new Rick Glassman fan here to say jesus... that was a good podcast.

People are never prepared for the honesty of Tony Hinchcliffe.

You guys really have a fraternal chemistry. Honestly I've seen Kill Tony only a few times because it just seems like torture porn watching people getting burned alive - but the rare good moments are when Tony speaks genuinely and supportively to people who he believes have a chance at comedy. This episode really insisted on getting my full attention with tough moments but it was worth it to hear the admission that he always knew you were working on something great and have now become a timing GURU! KUTGW!

This episode should be called "being insecure with tony hinchcliffe".

I've listened to this pod 4 times now and it's just as entertaining the 4th time. I love both these guys and the tension and respect shown here just keeps bringing me back.

This was like a therapy session. I can see where both guys are coming from. Tony holds stand up comedy as the highest pedestal and felt Jon never made it. But Rick feels Jon has had success, just in a different form of comedy.

I don't think most viewers will truly understand the greatness in this episode. The high level conversation between two real artists, masters of their craft on their disagreements, different perspectives and different approaches to said craft. Just so happens the art becomes a career and essentially their entire lives so the disagreements tend to be perceived as personal attacks. Very interesting and eye opening to things about humanity in general.

I was breezing...snapping through and had to plant myself and listen hard. One of the best honesty comedy direction pods on Tony .

LOVED THIS EP. I’m a huge tony fan so it was cool to see y’all dig deep with the topics. and y’all are both unable to NOT be honest which is what makes this ep so great. Even bringing the stuff up y’all talked about is a brave move which makes for raw and epic content. Don’t change the format this is perfect. Hahahahaha

Really thought Rick was kind of a hack because of my bias for KT Show when I originally saw this. I %100 take it back. Rick is incredible at podcasting; so many hilarious and memorable pods the last 2 years. We need 2.0

I totally admire Rick for being willing to stand up (no pun intended) for his friend & confront Tony on his past behavior. I also have to say, I admire how calm & collected Tony is while being confronted, explaining his pov without becoming defensive. Great episode! I love both of these very different guys.

I always think in scenarios like this that we forget before the editing and show vibe, this is two guys sitting across from each other with no audience or crew to back them up, when the camera cuts they are still in that room, Rick had to walk Tony to the door, make small talk, wait for Tony to put on his shoes and then probably awkwardly hug it out and once that door closed....both of them got straight on the phone to vent, Rick of course to Jon "you'll never guess what!?"

I met Tony once, he shook my hand and was a really nice guy to me. I would like to meet Rick too some day. That would be rad.

Rick is a fucking all star and roasted the roast master with that line about having his guy Jon on episode one. Fucking bravo, standing ovation. I rewatched that exchange 3 times in a row.

I'm glad it's here. Thanks to you both. Particularly around 35:00 minutes in. For seeing Rick NOW, and Tony NOW in this real conflict, and how they deal with it was just great!

Rick I loved how I learned about you through the industry plant Bobbi. But you’re x1000000 better than other guest / hosts and just an overall great comic!

The thing is tony is being very honest and he does like to help comedians by both elevating the supporting the ones who have talent and helping the bad ones by telling them they should try something else. Its honest and consistent and helps people who want to step in that world.

Tony is the fucking man. It’s so refreshing to see a guy with confidence that sticks to his fucking guns, can back up everything he says because he has integrity and principles.

I loved this one. It was like driving through the Ohio River valley (which is where im from). Can't wait to see Rick on Kill Tony !

I loved this episode...I'm glad I know so much about Tony and am quite familiar with you...this episode was great...you both were very self aware as you navigated this convo...little late to the show but there ya go bro!

This isn't funny, but it oozes authenticity and that makes it great. While never a huge fan of his standup or podcast, I've a newfound respect for Tony as a person. Unflinching honesty is rare. My admiration for Rick has only grown with this episode. He's one of the funniest guys on the planet, but also a real one.

This was really a great episode. A really great one. I hope these guys have real mutual respect for each other, and friendship.

Rick, the podcast was great. I loved the awkward vibe in this episode, it made it more compelling and interesting.

The realization at the end to retrospect his own thought processes from earlier in the episode was really interesting.

This confrontational vibe is actually pretty entertaining ahaha (2/5ths way through)

Rick was out for blood the entire time, being condescending with every question and Tony just took it on the chin and would answer every question without taking offense to them. It was frustrating to watch Rick poke and prod Tony at each question. But then relief washed over me like an awesome wave when Tony got into how lame it was for Jon to be in the back of Ricks set and be the only one laughing. That was literally the only time Tony jabbed at Rick and it was for good reason but of course Rick had a melt-down. Tony played it cool and Rick looked like a child.

I think this was an awesome podcast, Rick! I love that inside baseball type of talk!

I watch every episode of Kill Tony and TYSO. Huge fan of both of you guys and I can totally understand the situation you found yourselves in based on the personality differences. People are quick to judge Tony for his snarky, narcissistic attitude but I don't think he is usually coming from a bad place even though he's too self-assured for most people to swallow. Seems like you realize that about him and though it has bothered you at times you've come to realize he's a pretty good dude and a great, hard working comic like yourself. Very interesting to see though I wish a little less time was spent on it and that it wasn't the focus of the episode. Would've loved to hear more about the good moments since then and what you two share in common to bring it all back together. I think he had a good point that it wasn't the best thing for you to have a friend to encourage what for all intents and purposes could be considered "bad comedy" or bombing if the goal is only to get better. But I can see where you were coming from too and his honesty was probably just too blunt/forward and came off as disrespectful which I could totally see given his personality, especially if you didnt really know him intimately at the time. Seems like that's just who he is. Not doing it to hurt you or Jon but just telling you bluntly how he felt about it, probably with some animosity built in. Anyways, I thought it was a great episode and I can't wait to see you blow up. You're getting great guests and you're better and better every week at interviewing and getting to the juicy topics. You can officially consider me a Shoes Off Bopper Goblin For Life (SOBGFL). Also, definitely take the invitation to Kill Tony, that would be a fucking awesome episode and I would love to see how you do on that show given your personality and quick wittedness. Keep Ballin.

Wow! I'm new to Rick Glassman. I love his humor. I specifically looked to see if he ever had Tony on his podcast. I was expecting to laugh a lot. I did laugh, but I appreciated the candid conversation about past behavior. I really did feel like a fly on the wall. Great episode.

One of few things that made my add calm down and pay attention on a second playthrough. Understand both perspectives and happy that they could talk like adults
