They were trying to, but the fanbase made it difficult...

Look, I'm not saying the fans were perfect, but sega is more guilty than the fans. They keep rushing out their products and giving us half ass results because of it. In fact, there's a rant someone made that you should read that pretty much explains why this rant is mean and why tonys wrong for putting most of the blame on the fanbase.

The rant was written by @yuchun Note, your sonic rant is making some big numbers rn...also your disclaimer is bollocks, here's why your rant is nonsense, no matter how exaggerated, no offense, just a lesson from the heart honestly. You are, for lack of a better word, victim blaming. Sure, a little silly to call consumers victims, but it's about as silly to blame sonic fans for not liking...you know, shitty, disfunctional video games? It's pointing the finger at them for not liking bad games, blaming them for the franchise's regression, something they simply don't play part in, Sonic team and Sega do. I could go into detail on each specific game and point out why nobody liked them, but the fact of the matter is that it's not their fault for not buying a game they don't like, nor is it Sega's fault for not repeating gimmick one offs like Secret Rings or Lost World, when nobody asked for those, nor did people like them. Why are you blaming them? Are they supposed to blindly consume the product in hopes that the next product is going to be cool and innovative? No dude, they're not. Your rant paints Sega as this messiah type figure, and sonic fans as these ungrateful heathens, a gross and overdone depiction, which only children support, because they haven't had as much experience as some of us. This is the audience that needlessly defended Sonic Forces pre-release, and downright harassed fans who were in any way critical or negative about it. Oh right before you pull any of the buzzwords for like, whatever era I'm biased for, I got everything I wanted from a video game outside this series. Which one? Go find out, stop treating brands like a religion, and stop treating corporations as people worth advocating for. You are buying their product, the product should be what the consumer wants. They are not your friend, they control all of the series, the fans have little say for what actually happens. Your rant really just boils down to "you guys did not like the dark age games, it's all your fault the series has hit rock bottom"...when no, it's not, it's Sega's. All of it is Sega's fault, any other excuse is unprovable and convoluted.

@@ChaosSonic6683 Disagree then, because I have three comments two from Reddit, and one from the original video, all who agree that people were getting tired of the multiple playable characters and 06 is when they had enough. So SEGA's also at fault, expect for listening to THEM. And they are at fault for begging SEGA to do that. So that all comes down to "everyone is at fault", and any other additional argument is invalid.

Heck yeah, tell them. It's fanbases like these that makes me look at Nintendo's relationship with their fans as sane (even if it involves hate on fangames).

@@luistailsprower3051 again r u evening listening. I said that frontiers outdated his statement on dark stories and multiple playable characters. Did u even see the most recent dlc update. I get u need to pay to get the characters but still they are playable.

@Dngr _420 I see your point, but my point was that at the time of Tony's EWW Charriii's EWW Colors, Frontiers didn't come out yet and they didn't announce the multiple player characters yet. And there wasn't a lot of evidence for a dark and serious story for the game. You can't judge Tony's argument just because Frontiers rendered it obsolete. Like, If you judge a game, you need to judge it based on what things were like at the time, not based on what things have become like about 20 years later. Like, Super Mario 64 is a very old and elderly game that has aged like shit, but when you look at the game as if the year were still 1996, it's an outstanding game. So yeah, don't judge something based on it's age.

Because TSR in't canon, and Frontiers wasn't released then. And left out Ultimate because it's just Sonic Colors. Similar deal with Origins, which is just Sonic 1 to And Knuckles

@@luistailsprower3051 I see your point except for sonic colors ultimate even if it is still the same game it brought many glitches, lighting issues, crashes, and much more so he could have at least mentioned it a little bit

06's story was great fight me. Also, secret rings was criticized for having bad controls black knight barely had those issues. and unleashed do you mean the wii or ps3. peiople loved colors at the time hell the same thing with generations f**k people still find it perfect to thiis day.
