Wow.. happy you went to LeMullet/FL. Seem such a fun and great event to be at. It awesome to see you meet other RU-vidrs that I watch. Such a small world. Cool that so many these event bring builder/racing/etc.
I saw your car on a recent LHT Performance video. I was hoping HondaPro Jason would cover it too and perhaps find more content on RU-vid. Your video found me first thanks to RU-vid algorithm. I look forward to seeing more. Subscribed.
Just the fact you made it to Florida and did meet the boostedboiz will get you more view and now a project between you and Kyle would be awesome !!! he really need's one !!!!
This is so crazy!! I'm a straight og boosted boiz... brought me to you.. but I actually only live 2 hours from yous!!! Iv built so many hondas an just feel like a part of me lost something not knowing you existed... you must get bugger
Definitely want to get a 997.2 or 991.1 that's been wrecked or a flood car and K swap it. The body harnesses electronics are my main concern with a flood car tho...
This makes me so happy. Finally saw Jimmy Oakes with BoostedBoiz at Sema now you make an appearance. All my fav RU-vidrs comin together! We def think alike haha
Awesome build Nick., I'm so glad you were able to take a break and visit Florida. Can't wait to see the car in person. To fix that brake squeak,[it works Nicks, I've done 1000s of brake jobs ] give the brakes a quick inspection, make sure the caliper slides, pins, etc have a quality brake lube,anti-seize, etc Make sure any anti-rattle clips springs, pads are in place . Remove the pads and clean both the caliper side and rotor side of the pads. A quick scuff on any sharp edges with 400 sandpaper is always a good idea. Purchase a can of Permatex disc brake quiet spray. I recommend clean gloves while spraying the pads and another set of disposable gloves when installing them into the caliper .. Cleanliness is important, as the product is extremely sticky. 1. Lay the brake pads on a flat surface with the metal side up. You want to do this on a surface that can be sprayed upon and dirtied, in a well-ventilated area. 2. Put on rubber or latex gloves to protect your hands from the disc brake quiet spray. It is an irritant and sticky like glue.. 3. Shake the can of disc brake quiet for 15 -30 seconds, then remove the cap. 4. Spray the metal surface of each brake pad evenly and in a sweeping motion until coated with a thin layer. Keep a clearance of about 12 inches between the pads and the spray nozzle when spraying.I usually give a few lights coats, allowing each coat to dry a little. 5. Allow the brake pads to dry for at least 30 minutes, preferably in a warm place or in direct sunlight. This will ensure maximum adhesion of the disc brake quiet. Once 30 minutes have elapsed, the brake pads are ready to be installed on your vehicle. Pump the brakes before you drive, check the fluid, The noise should be gone.
LOL Ask the owners of their new 200,000 dollar 911 turbos if they accept the dealer telling them the brake squeal coming to a slow speed stop is normal.? They shouldn't squeal; he didn't just run the 24 hours of Lemans before stopping by Kyle's place. Did he say which brand, compound, etc? And would he use a race-only pad for a street performance car? Even so, most high-quality race pads are rated for road use. The squeal is a result of the pad vibrating and not maintaining even pressure on the rotor . I've done brakes on all kinds of performance cars using a variety of different compounds, and most have giant brake surfaces [pads, rotors,] Of course the surface finishing has to be done correctly, rotor thickness, run out, Porsche style dampens, caliper operation, etc None of them squeal unless something is wrong or they've been beaten up badly on the race track.
Nick!! I've been eyeing your channel for sometime and keeping you on the radar, especially this build! Now that the border is open, I'd like to chat with you regarding plans for my Element, and get your input! You're expertise with K-series tuning shows, especially with Ktuner, and your work with the Speed Academy Civic build!
Hey Nick, love the Porsche. I realized in the videos you were cruising around Woodbridge. I would love to do an exhaust in the spring time on my 2019 Acura ILX ASpec, can you give me some suggestions. Thanks!! Keep up the great content.
20:16 Then try out the roads in Greece/Turkey first ;) The reason is the heat and the smoother asphalt surface and the effect (grip loss) gets multiplied with wet surface. Your roads in Colorado are maybe in a worse condition than in Florida, but they're more rough/porous, so the rubber of the tire can claw into the gaps.
Big ups to #tuningbynick shining some light on Canadian car builders, tuners and youtubers! #boostedboiz #LHTperformance #escargotboostedgarage #tuningbynick #cleetusmcfarland
ARE YOU settimg up to sell full bolt on kits for this k swap, im asking because im in Barcelona spain and plenty of k motors here and im thinking of doing this swap. Let me know a bit more about this swap and the chances of setting up a full swap kit.
Im gonna put a k in my 986 boxster i need information on it does anyone know exactly what i need as far as parts or know how i can get in contact with anyone that knows i would appreciate it
Man that is kinda sad the $10,000 haha engine made 260whp lol. Make sense to go k swap in these older 911. Porsche drivelines can support so much more.
Hey Nick, so awesome! Can you do me a favor and talk about gear ratios and how it works out as a street car? I would think it would be really tall but maybe not.
N/a carreras have short gearing , I have a buddy with a LS3 swapped Carrera4 and the gearing is way to short for a 6.2 V8 so it would be perfect for a k series.
When will the Cayman be finished? I have a 2006 S and have been looking at the LS swap. I like what you have done with the 911. Will you offer a kit for these cars?
That's exciting to here. I just sold my autocross 911. Cracked heads. Wish I had seen this before letting it go. Looking forward to following the cayman build.
We actually answer that question multiple time in the video - The Porsche engines are old and expensive and dont actually make that power - The K series Honda engine makes more power, costs less money, and is easier to work on
