My ex used to refer to him as a "spider" went and seen them live in 2016 and all you seen was his shadow just flailing about in the darkest corner of the stage
Man these lyrics are even more relevant today. Same with Pearl Jam's Jeremy. Two songs that have aged very well and are still super powerful. Unfotunately I only got to see Tool once but at least it was in their peak at Ozzfest '98 and it was an amazing trippy performance. Tool is like a 60s psychadelic rock band for the 90s hard rock generation
if you was at the Camden, Ozzfest show; i was there......and if you was there; that set list was amazing......i seen TOOL 6 times and that setlist is my favorite!
No band will ever, even remotely come close to this level of talent. They shouldve been a 1st Ballot HOF immediately following their release of 'Undertow'. FN Epic live👊
I saw TOOL live in St.Louis in 96, 97ish, don't remeber exactly. I only heard them on MTV before then, but as soon as the music started there, the atomosphere changed suddenly and I got totally sucked in. I fell in love with them. The audience went very crazy and almost violent... I probably was the only Japanese in that crowd. One of the best times of my life. This video reminded me of that live, but Maynard was dressed differently, wearing girls underwear and a trashy wig.
ONE OF THE MOST ENERGETIC ROCK SONGS EVER CREATED AND PERFORMED AND WITNESSED THIS BAND WELL OVER 75 TIMES SINCE 1995 AND ALWAYS ALWAYS GO INTO A DIFFERENT PLACE PSYCHOLOGICALLY WHEN THIS SONG IS PERFORMED WOW WHAT MEMORIES THE WITNESS
Can't believe Maynard is actually singing to the audience (in underwear of course!) Lmfao. I saw them at the last concert the New Haven Coliseum had before being torn down. Maynard faced the back of the stage for the entire show! But they killed it that night. Opened with Sober while we were in line for beer. The entire concrete Coliseum was shaking from the bass guitar. Awesome show
Sounds perfect to me. Greatest live performance ive heard, no question. How can it be more perfect than what it already is ? The thought is unfathomable.
I was at one of these Ozzfest shows at PNC Arts Center. It was a changing of the guard for sure. I remember the entire place being entranced and hanging on every note. At least I know I was. The atmosphere was different from all the other acts, amazing. And I'm not even the most hardcore Tool fan.
Anemic Royalty I've known for a few years my dude. I've bought all their albums twice, asides Undertow. That's what I get for buying used, though lol. And when a buddy got me a record player for Christmas for whatever reason I got the color vinyl for Lateralus. It's neat looking but that's about it. I enjoy the cd platform.
@imhighonyourweed1 It sounds like the floor tom mic mix is way too low. All that you can here in the video is the bass drum playing the upbeats which makes them feel like downbeats without the low tom mix. It definitely got a little shaky, but they are still amazing.
Instead of flaming some Toolbox I'd rather share the day i'll never forget. I was driving down the road pissed at the city council & the mayor for being, well, a big bunch of dicks. This song came on the radio and instead of blindly signing along I listened. I now refer to this moment as the day my apathetic third eye got Lasik surgery by way of Tool. Were all connected and have a voice...use it correctly. Stand together.
i almost cried to that shit the first time i heard it, and believe me, i haven't cried in decades. its powerful. probably the most perfect sound and melody i've ever heard. might sound strange to you, but ive asked drummers how Danny does what he does, and they say it isnt possible. Some went as far as saying that Danny summons demons through the sacred geometry within the patterns of his drums. There are times when i listen to Danny and i have to turn the shit off, because its mind blowing.
