Thanks for the videos, I enjoy hearing your ideas on the trailer. The hot plug back feeding the outlet makes me squirm. It is a shock hazard to someone not familiar with the setup. For a disconnectable feed, I use a motor base plug on my trailer. Thank you again for efforts.

I see your concern. My double-male pigtail is wire staple secured so it never unplugs from the outlet. I plug the opposite end in to the extension cord so the “hot end” is never exposed. That….and I am just about the only one in my trailer and the only one ever to hook it up to power. Thanks for commenting!

WHAT SETUP DO YPU HAVE? DO YOU USE A BATTERY SET UP WITH A CHARGER WITH AN EXTNAL PLUG TO CHARGE THE BATTERY? IM LOOKING TO DO THIS AND JUST LOOKING TO SEE BEST INSTALLATION SETUP TO USE?

Thanks for checking out the video and commenting Richard! I do not have the room in this trailer to easily put in a battery/inverter system so all my power is from shore power. I have a hose reel in the back with a 100ft 10/3 extension cord that I can deploy through a hole in the trailer floor to plug into a recep at the job site or my home. I pigtail from a trailer recep to the extension cord and this powers the trailer. My next trailer will have some sort of dedicated power so I do not need to always plug into an outside source. You should check out Renovations and Repairs YT channel. Richard out of Michigan has a larger built out trailer and has utilized batteries and solar for stand alone power. ru-vid.com/group/PLfzsjsiEiSceiru8N44kihSIB57W5mKYa Another YT channel to check out is ShooshineJonnie who also has battery power ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gkwuCH78nJU.html

I filmed this in March of 2021 but forgot about these videos and the idea of this focused look series of videos until, later in the summer when I realized I had shot them and that I hadn’t posted videos in some months. So….I finished the videos I was missing and then got the videos around and did some editing before posting. So….yep! That is snow. Now? It is November here in upstate NY and we are a couple weeks or so out from expecting to see snow in the weekly forecasts. Howdy to TX! Thanks for commenting.

Hey Steve - I am curious as to why you do not have your plugs GFCI protected. Is it because you are assuming that any shore power you pug into will already probably be GFCI protected? I am going to put just one single plug in my trailer that will also be the point of feeding the switch that controls the LED interior trailer lights I have. Would you recommend that I put in a GFCI plug or do not go GFCI? Thanks for your help

Howdy! Thanks for the question. I am plugged in to a GFCI around 60% of the time on job sites and 100% at home. Truthfully, I don’t worry about a GFI on the trailer because two in a circuit can cause issues so this insures it will not be a problem. And……..I am usually only running chargers and LED lights (and when I am running an extension cord from the trailer for a table saw, it only in good weather so the chances of water interaction is minimal.)

@@sdsconstruction Makes sense. I thought that might be the reason because you would usually plug into a GFCI protected plug when you plug into shore power. Just out of curiosity, what is the blowgun that you have on the back of your trailer? I do not seem to have good luck with blowguns lasting. They start leaking around wither the connector or the trigger.

@@russalbright4213 the blowgun was just an inexpensive Amazon gun I ordered. One of two. The first did get jimmied up but the second has been going strong without issue for a long time. $12 …… JASTIND Industrial Air Blow Gun with Brass Adjustable Air Flow Nozzle and 2 Steel Air flow Extension, Pneumatic Air Compressor Accessory Tool Dust Cleaning Air Blower Gun ……. On Amazon.
