I am about as white american as anyone can get, take that how you will. I hated "african" food the first time I ate it. Then I went to an Ethiopian restaurant. The food was amazingly spiced, mixes of hot and savory, but that injera... that injera bread brings everything together. I'm going to learn how to make it If I can get the ingredients here in america, and pair it with just about every finger food (food we eat with our hands) or pretty much any other food I can. Ita amazing.
South African eat Ugali as well...we just call it "Pap" and it is cooked with Mielie meal and water only over high heat Pronounced as p-ah-p. Also,can we get a part 2?
