Ambroxan is the note that I still learn to love. There's something about it stinks my nose a bit. I have my eyes on No.4 right now since it looks promising. Btw, nice glasses that you have today.
To me it really depends on the fragrance. For instance, in another 13, it smells like clean laundry coming out of the dryer. I like the freshness, but I can't say I find it sexy. On baccarat rouge, it's hypnotizing and I'm obsessed! I've smelled the juliette has a gun one, didn't do much of anything. 3 different fragrances and 3 different experiences :)
BR540 Extrait and Molecule 02 are great woody, sweet and slightly smoky scents. They are linear but that's ok sometimes. I can definitely smell Molecule 02 and love wearing it by itself. It is so versatile. I find it pretty powerful and projects like a beast off my skin. I keep the number sprays at 5 or less. Both of these are great smelling Amboxan beasts.
"don't you?, Yes, I do, I'm obsessed, I'm hooked, I'm addicted 😄 same here! Ambroxan is so intimate and sensual I love it! will sample the ones I don't have on the list asap! thank you for another great video!
I am a woman and using baccarat rouge 540. I totally in love with this scent. Got compliments for that, I never had fragrance so compatible with my body scent. It’s like one almost.
Great list! Like you, I initially HATED ambroxan (mostly due to it's use in Sauvage, which I also hated). It smelled like "sandpaper", if that makes any sense. But now I'm learning to appreciate it in other fragrances, especially when it's done right. I've been lucky to smell a bunch of these fragrances at Perfumology in Philly!
That abrasive, long-lived texture in Sauvage (and Eros Flame and HiM) bothers me a fair bit. How have you identified it as ambroxan? Warmth and woods, I embrace, but not screeching hair-spray accord.
Ambroxan to me was love at first sniff reason why I got Baccarat, but Not a Perfume from Juliette.... OMG I don't need Baccarat anymore, way more affordable... AMAZING ❤
I know only half of them from which Juliette has a gun and Escentric molecules I couldn't smell at all. I've tried them on paper, on my skin, hair, but nothing. I really love Cheeky smile and Baccarat rouge and Tygar is also beautiful, but a bit too expensive in my opinion. I really need to get my nose on the Mizensir one, but i don't have any retailer that sells it near me, so probably I'll have to order a sample kit. Thank you for the video!
I get a new haircut every 4/5 weeks and I get it styled and shoot a few videos then wear my hat again cause I can never style it as good as the barber!!
Thanks to you I found out what's this note that was really bothering me in perfumes. Apre L'amor was the first sample I needed to wash of my hands and I was still catching the smell for the whole day. I smelled it in Another 13 too and couldn't stand it after na hour. Surprisingly I love Sauvage on my husband and I don't feel this note at all...
Ambroxan is a note I am exploring - I just got all three of the Juicy Couture Regal Collection. Sebastian! Did you ever smell these? They are not your typical Juicy Couture Fragrances! I am too grown up for that mess...LOL! But, Their Regal Collection - Amazing! They have an Ambroxan Bomb in Majestic Woods, An Amber/Cashmeran bomb in Glistening Amber and an Incensey Rose in Royal Rose! They were designed for a middle-eastern audience and because of that, I believe they are more opulent...And you will not believe the price I paid for them! They were made and released 2017-2018 and no one ever talks about them...But anyway - Yes, Ambroxan is sexy - woody and musky...without being tooo much like some ouds or animalic notes. You're looking sexy btw! Loving the hair and glasses...and when you sprayed yourself down - Again I was thinking - "He must smell amazing!" xoxo
Hi Sebastian, I know you get this a lot, but I always enjoy seeing your hair, you have great hair. That said, I was digging through your older videos and discovered you, like me, hate calone bombs; would love to have you make a vid on that and discuss anything at all you can tolerate with calone in it. To chime in on this vid...BR 540...I now associate it with Ariana Grande's scent, and can't separate the two (in a bad way) because of that. It's a bummer. Both are great scents actually, even Ari's in its own way, but Ari's is more teen-girlie and I can't shake that vibe from 540 now, so I'm forever lost to it. As a middle age male, smelling like a teen girl is not cool. As a side note, the stuff is damn hard to wash out of clothes. One of the aromachemicals, I'm not sure which one, is sticky as heck and just does not wash out. Ugh. Cheers.
Yes I do have great hair I'm blessed with hair like my dad was when he was alive. He never went bald. But the problem is it's so hard to manage this hair. LOL! That's why the hat just covers it up! :)
I thought I hate Ambroxan, the culprit? Sauvage, now that I know a little bit more about fragrances, I really like Ambroxan, I just hate Sauvage. Need to try This is not a blue bottle and For your love. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Do you think there are different kind or qualities of Ambroxan , because in sauvage causes me headache and in kosmala 4 I love it or you believe is something else
Of the most popular notes, these are my least favorite that I have smelled. Ambroxan (smells so cheap) Jasmine Aldehydes (that soapy smell is a turn off) Petroleum/rubber Birch Honorable mention - Blackcurrant (smells like a cat box)
@@ThePerfumeGuy I've yet to receive my order from her but I'm excited. She's easy to find on all socials. I'd be interested to see your take on the brand.
@@ThePerfumeGuy no no Covid at all. I thought the perfume went bad. It happened to both extrait and EDP. My fiancé couldn’t smell it either. But when I tried a different EDP nothing happened.
Here's a video on easy to wear amber fragrances: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uLImhCVtY_0.html And here's another one for regular amber fragrances: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ttyp334_6J0.html
Why do so many people (included me) get a really really bad headache from ambroxan? Even if I smell it on other people :/ its the worst for me unfortunatly.. smells synthetic & a offensive to my nose.
@@Katherine_xs Yes I did. I even had the extrait and wore it several times. Such a great scent but the ambroxan destroyed it for me. Had to sell it.. nowadays when i smell baccarat rouge on others its just the ambroxan what I pick off :(
I just recently sampled BR540, BR540 Extrait, I Don't Know What, and Mercedes Benz Club Black. And I can't smell any of them (I can smell some chemically edges of Benz). I had a week-long pity party for myself. And am punishing myself more by watching this video lol.
Like most people, I love Ambroxan as a note, but its ubuiquity in so many designer scents gives me a shopping mall vibe, which isn't cool. It's like how I used to hate patchouli because I associated it with hippies that haven't bathed in a while. 🤣
Hummm! Your audience must have very expensive taste when it comes to smelling good. Most of your choices of review are about expensive fragrances. Maybe it’s me. Anyway, I bought Nishane hacivat based on your review and others, I am very disappointed. That cologne smells like grapefruit and the dry down is pure dirt. Don’t get me wrong, I do like your reviews.
I hope you enjoyed the movie! Ambrox. is love and hate for me. There are the sweeter ones I like better and the fresh ones, especially in combination with grapefruit/bergamot. This combination often reminds me a locker room after a soccer game 😅 sweaty, sometimes musty. "Lord Ambroxan" Alberto Morillas won't be friends I guess :D
