What made Barry even greater for me was his casual toss to the ref after every score. No showboating, no spike, no rehearsed dance, just "I've been here before".
@S0ulinth3machin3
@S0ulinth3machin3 2 года назад
there is no dance any football player can do which can match the impressiveness of Barry Sanders' moves during the actual play. I'll bet Barry knew that. What's the point of showboating when you just pulled off the most entertaining thing ever?

@ericclaeyborn8359
@ericclaeyborn8359 5 лет назад
And Jim Brown is the only RB to rush for over 100 yds per game in his career (i.e. 104.3). As far as I can see, Sanders is 2nd, with an average of 99.8 yds per game. Jim Brown also averaged 5.2 yds per carry in his career... the most of any RB. Sanders averaged 5.0 yds per carry. None of them can beat Barry Sanders in humility.
@jackwieleba6469
@jackwieleba6469 5 лет назад
Well Barry never had a season rushing under 1,000 yards Jim ran under twice and ran for 2,000 yards in a season Jim never did that those are more and Barry averaged over 130 yards more than him for rushing yards per season those are way more impressive stats so suck on that

I have been a Detroit Lions fan my entire life. If Barry Sanders played a few more seasons, he could have easily become the first and only running back with 20,000+ rushing yards in NFL history. Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders were on the same Oklahoma State teams in the late 80's. Thurman rushed for 4,847 yards and 45 TD's as a 4 year starter for OSU. In 1988, Barry rushed for 2,628 yards and 37 TD's. Throw in his Holiday Bowl stats of 222 yds and 5 TD's and his 1988 total was - 2,850 yds and 44 TD's. In one season Barry rushed for 2,219 yards less and ONE touchdown shy of what it took Thurman Thomas FOUR seasons to accomplish. THAT IS JUST INSANE!

One year against the Vikings I believe. 6 sec left before half at midfield. Instead of a hail mary they handed the ball to barry who scored.

It’s not even fair how great he was he was so good even the camera man thought he was down 4:02 and Barry goes for a touchdown he was was more than one of a kind, he is the GOAT, and he always will be.

What’s amazing is how great he was for not really being especially fast. He was my favorite to watch in the ‘90s. I’d say Sayers is the most spectacular runner to watch ever. Speaking of the Bears, it’s funny how many times he smoked them.

He is only 5'8" tall so it is such a surprise to see him outrun so many defensive secondaries. I watched Barry practice a couple of times at Oakland University and when you see him up close you'll see where his power comes from if you look at his thighs. For his size he had the biggest thighs I have ever seen in any running back. He was a pleasure to watch!
