"It's over isn't It?" that's my #1 favourite song. Because they had to reanimate the original because what Deedee Mango Hall gave the song a whole nother life that they initially thought. That's what I call a voice actor going into their role. She knows Pearl's sadness of Rose choosing Greg and incorporated it into this song.

A thing about "Happily Ever After" is that a piece of the instrumental of a music belonging to each of our beloved main characters is played during their solos: We Are The Crystal Gems for Steven, It's Over Isn't It for Pearl, Stronger Than You for Garnet and Tower of Mistakes for Amethyst.

I always like when a show can showcase some more serious and heartfelt moments oppose to always having being kind of silly, "Here comes a thought, What's the use of feeling blue, Drift away, and It's over isn't it" have more serious undertones but can most likely connect with the viewers in some way or another. Here comes a thought: being conflicted with your inner thoughts and learning not to run away from them What's the use of feeling blue: trying to get someone to accept what happened while acknowledging the person is hurting as well but has accepted it in their own way Drift away: a sad lament of being left behind and forgotten but still left with the memories you shared with someone who isn't around anymore It's over isn't it: a sad lament about not being able to move on when someone you deeply cared about is no longer around but cannot move on and is constantly reminded of them
