Kuroo-is-my-weakness ikr! How can anyone hate him. 13 seasons of spn would not have been possible if it wasn't for him. And it wasnt fangirl service as someone said. Fangirls come after the character not before them. Some people dont know what they are talking about.

I don't hate Cass, but I think that he overstayed his welcome. For the past couple of seasons there wasn't much contribution from him, it got boring. And as much as I loved Crowley, I was glad to see him go, because they didn't know what to do with him, the same way they don't really have a purpose for Cass anymore. When Cass died in season 12, I hoped it was for good... but there he came again. Actually, every time he died, I thought (hoped) it was for good.

I think Cass is an important character, and if it's just for the boys to have a friend by their side. Of course he was more important and somewhat cooler in the earlier seasons, but he's honestly my favourite character after Charlie.

Cas has so much purpose in Supernatural. He's got to be there for the Jack storyline, and he's very close to Sam and Dean, helping with their arcs. Dean's reaction to losing Cas (and getting him back) just proves that they're better with Cas, not without. Cas is our lead on The Empty storyline (if they follow that further) and he's crucial for Team Free Will. Sam and Dean can't lose another friend, not now.

I can see why people like him because he has an entertaining personality, but the reason i don't like him is because i don't like what he's doing to the storyline. IMO, the show was perfect in the first 3 seasons because the focus was the amazing brotherly dynamic, but having cas offputs everything. The writers are also milking his character way too much because Misha is friends with one of the producer guys and he has a fanbase, so they don't know what else to do with him. I think that's why there's a lot of people who don't like him.

Narita Zaraki Sam actually is the typical lead you see in this genre. A lot of shows like this take a character like Sam (sweet, smart, boy-next-door [or girl]) and throw them into the "supernatural world," and we (the audience) follows them through their "new world" and learns with them. Sam is different only in that he is being thrown BACK into the supernatural world as opposed to being newly introduced. Dean is typical of the main characters "sidekick." He's the one who helps/guides/supports them on their hero's journey. In fact, Sam was originally supposed to be the main character of SPN, and Dean was supposed to be a secondary character (Kripke envisioned Sam as Luke Skywalker and Dean as Han Solo). However, the audience had such a strong reaction to the brotherly dynamic as well as Dean's character (thanks to Jensen, I think, since he has nailed the role) that they quickly switched the show to being about Sam and Dean, and they are now dual-protagonists. I'm not trying to pick an arguement, just throwing in my opinion. Sam is the typical "chosen one" (in the earlier seasons anyways) and Dean had a sort of anti-hero vibe at first (though it became apparent very quickly that that wasn't the case). They were very smart to switch the show to being about both brothers because that is why it has lasted so long. Dean is the more popular of the two among fans (I am admittedly a Dean girl, but I still love Sammy) which is why he is featured a lot more in later seasons, but S1-S5 was essentially about Sam's journey. That's not to say that Dean didn't have his storylines and character developement, but the main arc was definitely more about Sam's "hero journey" and a lot of Dean's storylines revolved around Sam (Sam's visions, Sam's connection to YED, Sam's blood addiction/powers, protecting Sam, saving Sam from his "destiny"). Dean's main purpose was to take care of Sam. He didn't really have his own "hero journey" until S4 (even then, it was secondary to Sam's). Not complaining at all as I love both of the boys journeys, but just observing from a literary/storytelling perspective.

That is exactly why Sam is my favorite. Dean Winchester is similar to Damon Salvatore and a few other characters, but nobody can match SAMMY

Narita Zaraki I’m sorry but I just can’t agree. If you look at their personalities and character types from a surface level, you’d see they are BOTH very stereotypical. Example: see TVD as a prime set for this. The show writers did the smartest thing they could by making the characters like this; even though it is a horror show it is primarily geared towards young adults/teenage girls. By setting Sam as the stereotypical nice guy next door, smart one, one that doesn’t like to play with girls, basically goes against what you would think he would be, sets himself as the Stephen Salvatore of this story. Dean, however, with his “bad boy” tendencies, and the way he plays with girls, the way he’s actually depressed and dead inside well... he’s a clear match with Damon. (These are just characters most people know and can easily compare them too) really, they both are EXTREMELY stereotypical, which was quite intelligent on the writers part because since this is geared toward girls, it gives each their own character to relate too, since they are opposites. That way, you will always feel EXTREMELY connected to at least one of the brothers because the writers KNOW your personality is bound to be one or the other. This is something you see in MANY, MANY shows and books. Plus, they’re both hot so...I’d say that makes them both no different than other tv show characters. However, what sets them apart is the story built up over 15 years now that includes EXTREME character development (Ex: see dean season 1 and dean season 14. It’s heartbreaking to watch, really.) however, if we hadn’t had this, this story would be no different than any other. This show has actually set the some of the greatest character development I’ve ever seen, which I would hope it would since it existed over 15 years. Anyway, I’m rewatching season 1 right now and am so dreading the moment Sam dies in season 2 lmao. The moment everything went down hill for them.
