Maker's 46 Cask Strength, in my opinion, is a great alternative to Weller Antique 107 which tends to be much harder to find. Pretty good list.

Great recommendations. I’ve got all but the Pepper and I 100% agree these are the best bang for the buck. I’d add 1920 on there too!

I completely agree on the 1920! I just finished the bottle the other week and don’t have a replacement yet. I usually alternate between the 1910 and 1920…. They are both staple worthy, but I just rotate to conserve shelf space and maintain some variety. Cheers Ricky 🥃

Excellent recommendations classics that are available almost everywhere. Only unique one I don’t see often recommended is regular Blue Note.

The Coopers / OF 100 are great. I think thats why they decided to sell ET. Too many other offerings aroud 100 proof and Early Times (imo) was just a low budget pour that really didnt lend itself to building brands in the BF family. I've passed by the Blue Note a few too many times. The 46CS is great as well! Cheers and great list!

Blue Note isn’t distributed to VA and it’s a pretty popular bottle for those that visit the basement bar. The 46CS is killer and I really like the Makers 101 too. I appreciate the comment and cheers! 🥃

Awesome list, Tanner! While I haven’t tried tons of rare and allocated stuff, I have come to appreciate great value available whiskeys. Coopers Craft and Makers 46 CS are solid! Any plans to blind some of these value picks against some allocated bottles? Cheers again on 2k!

Yes yes and yes! Love the blind ideas and most certainly will. I have a few new release comparison videos I need to prioritize while they are relevant like Woodford Batch proof and Little Book 8, but I will be sure to mix in some value vs allocated blinds. I greatly appreciate the recommendations as always!

Wow! $79 was the MSRP in VA 2 years back, but $99 seems to be more of the going rate now. Fantastic find there!

Like you said, we all have different tastes or different after effects. My 3 favorites, to try and maybe keep production going for me, are 2 bottled in bonds and one Wheat Whiskey. 100 proof Old Grand-Dad, 100 proof Early Times, and 90 proof Bernheim Original aged 7 years. $23 to $31.

Hey Tanner looks like a nice list , I enjoy the Jack Daniels ,and of course Eagle Rare , I'am a Old Forester Fan but have not had that one,,, I have those Elijah Craigs on my shelf but only had the Regular 94 proof so far,,,, have some of your others and have not tried them yet,,, really interested in that James E Pepper ,,,, Thanks

You can get the James E Pepper online for the mid $60’s it’s a great pour! I need to make the 1915 (50/50 1910 & 1920) I hear that are a fantastic combo! Cheers 🥃

You forgot Bowman Brothers Small Batch. $36 are regularly available for me. So much better than Eagle Rare and only really a little step below EH Taylor in my book. John J Bowman isn't sold in my state controlled state but JJB is hand over fist better than EH T which was my favorite bourbon until I tried JJB.

Yes, the Russell’s 10 is a fantastic value, but I don’t currently have one on my shelf. The RR10 is 90 proof and it is in my low proof rotation of bottles that I buy. I try to manage the number of lower proof bottles I have open because I don’t drink them as frequently as 100+ proof, so they tend to sit a little longer than others. Cheers 🥃

Lol People have been drinking for centuries brother. As long as they aren’t taking down 1/4 bottle a day, there’s unlikely to be any I’ll effects TBH. 1-3 small pours per day isn’t going to do more than processed foods, lack of exercise etc.
