I wore Polo Green when it was just Polo! This along with Kouros, Aramis Devin, Paco Rabanne & Givenchy Gentleman were my go to fragrances back in the 80s. I could cry when I smell the current versions. They are just shadows of the originals.

I adore vintage (70s and 80s) fragrances, because I think today we lost something along the way... You two and Chris from ScentLand ere my most trustworthy vintage fragrances advisor. I'd like to see a video of all three together. And, Max: you definitely need to launch your own fragrance line!!!

Loved your conversation! What a video! Dior Eau Sauvage gets my vote, since we were born on the same year (1966) but the oldest bottle I have in my collection is an Egoist platinum, bought on 94 or around that time. Thanks for the memories, gentlemen!

Really loving the old school stuff again ordering in quite the lot at the moment and of course Gravitas arrived yesterday well it was not what I imagined it to be and in a very good way may I say.it is far more elegant and smooth very gentle and the citrus notes are so well blended and never push up in your face really not usual barber shop wosh I expected it is akin to eight and bob in its style excellent really.sits so well and wafts subtle and steady great job Dan oh great vid also 🇮🇪🙏🙏

Great video guys. My all time favourite is Pour Homme by YSL. This fragrance is a bottled time machine. No other fragrance comes close for me. It makes me very angry when they re-formulate fragrances into weaker versions for profit, especially when loyal customers have been buying the same perfume for years, then suddenly they water it down for the same price. It's like a kick in the teeth. GREED.

Awesome list gents. Would Rochas Moustache EDT count as a vintage scent? It was re-released in 2018, but with the original formulation from 1949. I love it. Just like you and Max, I love classic scents like your fougeres and “barbershop” style scents. My fave genre. Also, picked myself up a bottle of Milano Cento EDT, and you’re right...it’s amazing. Perfect classic scent. 👍

Two of my favorite fragrance reviewers with similar preferences must be our age...🤣 great video...personally I would've saved a spot for Drakkar noir way ahead of it's time, doesn't smell dated and still gets me lots of compliments. Gravitas is going strong Dan...it's performing great👍

Yes Givenchy gentleman 1974 is blumin lovely, Kouros was my first fragrance, but it's horrible now and does smell of urine actually, it used to be beautiful atb Lee

These days I think a lot of brands make perfumes weaker so that you have to use more sprays and spray more often so that you need to restock more often. I think this is more common in the designer realm where there is less markup but not exclusive to them. In other words it's more about getting us to pay more not giving us the best product they can unfortunately.

We would be more appreciated if you, both, would choose your options among available fragrances which are accessable around the world, but some very rare versions which is almost impossible to find .....! I think it doesn't guide us to good choices.

Love the vintage Gentlemen. I believe it was inspired by the popularity of patchouli among the culture at the time and think it also contains civet bringing out the animalic tone.
