Woah Jon!,you have an epic BIG DVD and BluRay collection with SOOO many fantastic films. But i don't really have a cool bluray collection, i don't even have a single bluray. You in USA are so lucky, because you can get them in pawn shops, retail shops, walmarts and on discounts really cheap. But in my country everysingle DVD is over 9 €=10 dollars. There are really little blurays that are overpriced and never on discount. The DVD collection i have, mostly consists of films i like -Captain America:The Winter Soldier -Iron Man -This is the end -Seven Psychopaths -Pain & Gain -Spring Breakers doh >,< -Frankenweenie -The Prestige -Now you see me -Green Lantern doh >.< -Spiderman 3 doh >.< -Tron Legacy But the blurays i really wanted to get are- The Dark Knight, Pulp fiction, Fight Club etc.
1. The dark Knight 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. Return of the King 4. Ghost Protocol 5. Star Trek Into Darkness 6. Star Trek (2009) 7. Black Panther 8. Inception 9. Spiderman 1 & 2 (Sam Raimi) 10. The Bourne Trilogy
Great vid! Now I don't agree with every movie in the list but I gotta agree with you there on The Dark Knight, Avatar (PQ ONLY!), Inception, and BBC's Life. These all look SPECTACULAR on bluray. Thanks for the great videos man! It's good to find other people who share the same blu-mania! keep on collecting!
@RobinsTaste I will make a vid talking about the new layout on my other channel soon. Blu-rays really make me feel like Im watching the movie and not just a DVD... I see to many errors in all of my DVD movies and it takes away from the experience to me. Blade Runner is a damn good looking blu-ray though.
When I get bored trying to find something new on RU-vid or get tired of listening to music I always got John Flickster to revert too. That says something right there!
Pretty spot-on. I have 80 Blu-rays and at least half of those. My question is, how good is your sound system? You mentioned the sub, but do you have a full 5.1 surround setup, receiver, and all that? If so, here are some with the best sound: Super 8, Cloverfield, Unstoppable, Incredible Hulk, Tron: Legacy, Flight of the Phoenix, LOTR extended editions, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan... and the movie with what's widely regarded as the best sound EVER, Master and Commander.
1.thor ragnarok 2.the dark knight 3.guardians of the galaxy 4.con air 5.guardians of the galaxy volume 2 6.captain America the first avenger 7.face off 8.terminator 2 9.toy story 3 10.avengers infinity war
My top 10 (based on picture & sound quality) 1. Avatar 2. Star Trek 3. oblivion 4. Scott Pilgrim vs the world 5. ET (anniversary edition) 6. Super8 7. Any of my Pixar films 8. Fellowship of the ring (extended) 9. TinTin 10. Gravity
I figured you were joking with Over the Top, but then when you started to talk about it I thought you were serious. haha Awesome picks and amazing looking blu rays! Especially the BBC Life series. That's reference quality right there.
You probably have one of the best rooms I have seen to do collection updates in. You have beautiful black media shelves, you are in love with blu-rays, and your walls are blue. What better place to do blu-ray reviews than a blue room.
@aerodude73 I mean to say a lot of things.. Who is Pete? I have a sony sound bar and sub, I want a real surround, but this room is too small. 2 subs, Jesus!
I just bought a blu ray player. So excited to get my blu ray films now! I am getting Batman trilogy, Fight Club, Departed, Planet Earth boxset, Avengers Assemble and the Matrix. Nice little collection to start off.
I think you meant to say Le's brief "STINT". another fun video Pete. What kind of HT setup do you have? I have a 7.2 (yes, .2, as in TWO Subs) setup. All Polk Audio speakers, aside from my 2 Subs (Premier Acoustics, PA-120's -- yup, 2 12" Subs). Room size is 11x13 & I have some Acoustic treatments on the walls to help things along. talk to you later...
Great choices there I’ve been enjoying films all over again since I’ve picked up a projector and I’m finding films with a certain look just look visually amazing Will defiantly get Star Trek and 300 Great video
Great list! I feel the same way about Fight Club. What sets the Dark Knight apart from other comic book movies (for me at least) is that I can relate to how the Joker views the world. Sure he takes things to the extreme, but in the context of the movie I was definitely rooting for him over Batman.
My favourite top 10 blu-ray movies are: (01:)Saw 3 (02:) A nightmare on elm Street 1978 (03:) Scream (04:) Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows part two (05:) Ralph breaks the internet (06:) split (07:) johnny English strikes again (08:) Jurassic World Fallen kingdom (09:) la la land (10:) us
You did good on the pick for the last 2, yeah Avatar looks amazing on Blu ray but Dark Knight was the best choice with its great picture and sound plus the story and action and the some what twists that Nolan likes to throw in there. Couldn't get any closer to a perfect top 10 that i agree with.
I was hoping you would put Toy Story 3 (or any Pixar movie) on there. I even notice the difference in detail on my SD TV (yeah, I know, a Blu-Ray player with an SD TV). Most people say you can't see the difference, but the details are sharper and the colors are MUCH more vibrant on the Blu-Ray disc than the DVD.
Good list buddy. I agree about alot of those titles especially Fight Club and Taxi Driver I liked the King Kong remake, i had no problems at all with it. I think Jack Black fitted the part he had in that movie :) Avatar is great and i need to watch it on Blueray. Dark Knight is also good. Funny how some people bash on it, seems like some people just need something to hate and some movies just becomes like a trend to hate becaus of their success., wouldn´t you say? Have a great weekend!
Dude, I have to give you props for putting Life on your list. Everything except King Kong and Toy Story I agree with and even with KK I understand visually why it's on your list. Toy Story you could replace with any Miyazaki film (better story and better visuals). As for KK I would replace it with LOTR or Star Wars
@Heavymetalrille Yeah people want to feel like elitist and hate Avatar. Yeah with out the awesome cgi it would of been mediocre. But damn them all its looks great on blu-ray!
I agree with Dark Night, such an awesome film. I agree with the Pixar statement also, Pixar in my opinion consistently make the best looking films in the industry. They are years ahead of other Animation studios.
