Not at all.....they not even a "BOY Band" in the technical, accepted sense. First, they're all black, second, they can sing, third they can smoke weed and drink, and Third they sang "All My Life". Plus they don't do choreographed studio dance moves, which are typical of Boy Bands

B4-4 , Young Black Teenagers, Soul Decision and the number #1 cheesiest/worst boy band ever is definitely O-Town. These guys suck....if you doubt this, they were spoofed by Angie Tribeca calling them "Boyapocolypse" with the "bad" boy, the "pretty boy", the ethnic diversity guy, the neutral guy that nobody really remembers, the ugly guy(rebellious one like A.J. and Donnie Walberg). Choreographed dance moves, all promoted by the sleazy promoter guy making money of them

***** Sweetheart, One Direction is, indeed, a boy band. The term "boy band" refers to a group of male singers that perform as a group. Now, some may or may not play instruments, but what makes boy bands popular are the voices, the look, and that's pretty much it. If you like them, great, all power to you, but you cannot deny what they are. That being said they are also really, REALLY, cheesy, as are most if not all boy bands.
