@beselbic
@beselbic 8 лет назад
+burny6666 He also wrote and composed some of his biggest hits, such as Billie Jean and Beat it. But he was in his early 20s by then. He did write and compose "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" in his teens. He was a child prodigy nonetheless. He was an amazing singer, dancer and performer when he was just nine. And singing and dancing are significant talents. How many nine-year-olds have you seen with the type of talent MJ had that the age? That's a rare gift and why people called him a prodigy. Really good list though and great choice for the #1 spot.

@beselbic
@beselbic 8 лет назад
+Guillermo Sanchez No, it's not a FACT. Just because you say it is doesn't make it a fact. MJ wrote and composed a good portion of his own hits. True, other writers wrote tracks for him as well, but probably his biggest and most-remembered hits were written and composed solely by him: Billie Jean, Bad, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Drity Diana, Beat It and more.

For all you feeling like crap and thinking you should’ve done more... think about how many of these kids became super successful. And then think about the number of college-dropouts who became super successful. More knowledge isn’t important. It’s what you do with the knowledge you have. That was an original quote from me I can’t believe I just said that. But keep in mind: Mozhart and Picasso

+freegratuits That's wrong. If there are less female child prodigies, then they are less likely to be the greatest. Also, IQ research shows that women are usually closer to 100 IQ than men on both sides. The Smartest individuals tend to be male, and so do the stupidest. That's called being honest.

@HaloForgeUltra
@HaloForgeUltra 8 лет назад
Callum Marriage Isn't that what I said, women are usually closer to the 100 mark, while men are a little further on both sides of the 100 IQ mark. On average, this difference is only 4 points. However, that's due to how the average works, the most common intelligence appears to be average, 100 IQ.

@SCI5JUNKIE
@SCI5JUNKIE 8 лет назад
+Obtainable clearly u didn't read what I said. I'm not comparing MJ to Beethoven & Mozart talent wise, I just simply stated that if you're going to put musician prodigies on the list like those two than MJ deserves a spot as well. Also not to take anything away from Beethoven & Mozart but MJ was actually 5 years old when he started performing while Beethoven was 7 & Mozart was 6 so please show me what makes them more unique than MJ???
@maxflash200
@maxflash200 8 лет назад
+Malik Moore Well technically, you are comparing Mozart and MJ, as you're stating that, because MJ deserves to be in the same list, that he was in the same league as Mozart and Beethoven. Personally, MJ doesn't come close to the level of 'prodigy' that Mozart and Beethoven were. Yeah MJ was talented as a musician, but he wasn't a prodigy that was outright amazing from a young age, he was just an entertaining kid that sang good songs, whereas Mozart, from a young age showed prowess and skill in a form that takes many people their whole life to reach. Mozart and Beethoven became household names, everyone knows who they are, even if it's just 'those classical music guys' and they did it without the age of the Internet, but MJ had all the modern media to spread his talent.
@blumentopf190380
@blumentopf190380 8 лет назад
+Malik Moore they composed complicated music, while michael only sang and danced.
@SCI5JUNKIE
@SCI5JUNKIE 8 лет назад
+maxflash200 Me stating why MJ should be on the list has nothing to do with me comparing his talent to Mozart & Beethoven's. I was just pointing out that in my opinion I believe that if your going to put "musician prodigies" on the list u gotta place MJ up there & clearly WatchMojo was thinking that as well because at the end of the video they showed MJ performing I Want You Back although he wasn't mention. But how was he not outright amazing at a young age??? Could u sing & dance at the professional level when u was 5 years old because not a lot of musicians are gifted enough to do so. I'm a fan of Mozart & Beethoven's music & classical music as a whole but MJ started his success at the same age as them which is very impressive. It could also be argued that MJ should have been an honorable mention besides Elton John because Elton was 11 when he started while MJ was 5.

Bobby Fischer? Magnus Carlsen?
@SammyNineFingers
@SammyNineFingers 8 лет назад
+James Morris Carlsen is the third youngest in the world to make grand master, and at 24 is by far the top rated chess player in the world. Kasparov and Fischer were only able to play one game against each other, and it ended in a draw, but Carlsen, at 13, was also able to force a draw with Kasparov as well. The three of them would likely be very close in rating and ability, but Carlsen is about half their ages, leaving him far more time to improve.

Bob Barker Chess in its current form has been around for about 200 years. To say that the last 50 years has produced theory that is somehow more important than the previous 150 is a bit disingenuous considering the goals of taking a position to control sections of the board is still the same, and many of the strategies to do so have been around since before Fischer was born. Many of the most highly regarded chess theory writings came out of the 20's and 30's and are still used today, such as the writings of Aron Nimzowitsch and Reuben Fine.

Billy Preston - He was definitely a child prodigy. The gifted young pianist/keyboardist was backing noted gospel artists such a Mahalia Jackson and James Cleveland at the young age of nine. He performed on the Nat King Cole show at age 11. He went on to be an acclaimed hit-making artist as an adult and played on the Beatles' Let It Be album.

WatchMojo, I agree with you that Wayne Gretzky can be considered a hockey prodigy. However, he comes around and, sadly, another that came along a few years before him is forgotten about all too much. I'm referring to the great "Number 4," Bobby Orr. I would even put him before Gretzky because Orr did what he did from the defensive end of the ice. Up until he came along, defensemen concentrated on assisting the goalie by not having anyone from the opposing teams score. If a defensemen who played before Bobby Orr came along then it was an added bonus. All by himself, Bobby Orr changed the game forever. It's too bad that his knees betrayed him where he had to retire at the still-young-hockey-age of 30. One can only imagine what else he would have accomplished to change the sport of hockey even more than he already did. I had the honor and the pleasure of meeting him once and got his autograph in the process. He is as great a person as he was a hockey player.

At the age of 12 I’m 13 now I had a teacher contact some people about my iq I was doing college math for fun because I would finish all my 6th grade work (supposed to take 30-40 minutes) before the warm up was done (10-15 minutes) but sadly I’m only that good at math and social study’s... but the pandemic took over before my teacher could get a response, he wanted to have me skip all the way to freshman math, he did so and it still was to easy, but now I’m just in normal 7th grade now.

To everyone feeling 'ashamed' or 'worthless' because they aren't or weren't child prodigies, keep in mind that they are doing what they love and are enjoying it. Do what you love to do and what satisfies you internally. Someone else's success shouldn't be used as a metric to determine your capabilities, success, and self-worth as an individual. You are capable, work to believe in yourself.

When you make nice informative lists like this, you undermine yourselves by using random clips from pop culture. For example, for the number 9 pick, why did you have to show that stupid 'Friends' clip.

To be honest I would put Lionel Messi on this list. He signed for one of the best clubs in the world when he was only twelve when he sent them a video of him showing of skills wig a tennis ball and now he is one of the best players of all time.

Pele? He signed his first professional contract at 14 years old and scored 4 goals in his first career match...at 14! Against grown men more than twice his age! And he was a key player in helping Brazil win their first World Cup when he was just 17 yrs old.

I was stating to wonder why the heck all these child prodigies started hanging out in my feed but I think I finally got it. Lmao. My guides wanted us to know that it's not about how smart or intelligent you are that brings about great change in the world. It's about how driven you are to use what you have to get there. These kids lived a charmed life and don't understand what it means to suffer the way those who had it rough do. So the causes that they typically serve do not do much to help humanity as these children have clearly existed for a while yet the world remains the same, if not worse. That's why it takes someone more unique but still extremely relatable to create the change this world needs most right now. Twin Soulders who made it out of hell and lived to tell the tale...

on the subject of child prodigies in November 2015 a 12 year old girl in the UK got all of the questions on an iq test right (like stephen hawking did). However because of her age, she got a 162 while hawking got a 160.

A true prodigy also has to have an excellent imagination and memory and capacity to think outside the box, it is not just a capacity for intellectual rigor.
