I love* Revlon's Rose Velvet. It's that perfect my lips but better color for me. I can swipe that on, with nothing else on my face, and look pulled together. 👍 So very glad cooler tones are making a comeback!!

The Pat McGrath Divine Rose lipstick looks straight orange on me, but I think that might be my muted olive undertone complicating things.

Hi Maaike oh the plethora of lipstick that is supposedly cool toned and turns vibrant peachy orange on me 😢. The Kiko that looks pink (and is very similar to UD backtalk- another firm favourite) and the Catrice both look like nudes on me, but I have tried LE (now available in Edinburgh Space NK), Gucci, Givenchy, Dior, Mac, BB, CT, Armani etc etc etc are all peach on me even if they look pink or mauve in the bullet. Each of the makeup artists or counter assistants were astonished how much they changed within a few minutes on my lips. Best wishes x

@@FloatinginDreams The mattes were just what I was hoping for, almost a 1:1 match to UD Naked Basics 2, my go to matte palette. And the shimmers, omg. My only gripe is that I wish there was a full pigment champagne shimmer, as the lightest one is more of a topper.

I love the Milani Lip Fetish lipsticks, L'oreal, and Natasha Denona My Dream lipsticks. All are my favorite. I'm trying to get into lipsticks more, but I think they look weird on me because I never wear lipstick. I used to have a shimmer purple one from Urban Decay. That was my all-time favorite lipstick. It was gorgeous.

My favorite cool toned lipstick is Gucci Mary Mauve in the satin. I also enjoy Lisa Eldrige in the Velveteen Liquid Lipstick Fawn pulls much more as a pinky nude. The Hourglass satin has several good cool nudes especially Tide and Oasis.

I'm older and I find brighter lipsticks make me look much better. I do have a couple of nudes just in case. Malani Pretty natural for a peachy warmer look and Loreal color riche shine in rosewood which is a light cool pinkish brown that's a bit transparent and juicy. I don't wear many high end lipsticks anymore. MAC is as expensive as I'll go. They just get old and thrown away. I don't know if it's your camera or my computer, but none of your cool picks look near cool enough for me. It is getting harder to find cool.

It's brands callong things cool toned that aren't. However I think that even if the lipstick has a smidge of warmth if can still look nice if you have a cool undertone.

Hi Maaike, really enjoyed this video (but the first five shades except for Victoria Beckham one all look very peachy.. maybe it’s the lighting or my TV display which distorts the true colour). Personally, I think nothing beats the MAC one on you! Also, I think Kiko always has great choice for everyone’s taste so it’s great if you want good quality lip product without breaking the bank! They all def some warmth but they can still work for cool undertones. Sometimes wearing all cool tones cannot look flattering as a balance ia needed. They def look peachier on the back of my hand than on my lips.

I wouldn’t call them cool toned either. Regardless on how they pull on someone’s specific skintone because that’s individual, but the lipstick shade is cool or it is not and most of these are warm. On my skintone all of these are warm actually even the what I counted like three somehow cool/neutral options here but I’m not calling them all warm because I can see which one is more neutral, warm or cool and what undertone they actually have. It must be very confusing when different RU-vidrs say about one lipstick this is warm because it’s warm on me and another one says about the same lipstick this is cool because it’s cool on me, but I noticed it’s so hard for others to see the actual undertone objectively. And also the brands are here at fault because they are marketing neutrals as cooltones and people got used to it and now everyone calls everything cooltoned if it’s not straight up orange.

@magicxspace5406 true but remember that these are all swatched side by side. Next to actual warm tones they would look differently as well. Not all cool tones need to have blue/ purple undertone for it to work on cool toned skin. That only works for some people. Besides lip colors are influenced more by your natural lip color than your skin tone. That'a why these look so differently once applied. Even the rest of your makeup and the color of your clothes can alter how shades look. And lip colors can be manipulated even more by adding lip liners and gloss. The point of the video is to show colors that work if people have cool undertones. These would all work for different reasons.

@@FloatinginDreams that’s exactly my point, I don’t think most of these would actually look as good on someone with a cool undertone even though they may be ok for yours (I see you have a cool overtone but looking at your features with my colour analyst eye, your undertone might actually lean warmer than you think so it make sense that these work on you better than on someone much cooler, I know from your previous videos that you can tell pretty well the warm vs. cool, I watched some of your cool toned eyeshadow palettes and your picks were quite spot on, that’s why I was surprised you didn’t choose some much cooler lipstick shades …obviously it’s just my personal opinion but I’ve swatched most of these and having knowledge about colours and makeup I would call these maybe just nudes or neutrals and choose much cooler shades for cooltoned picks. Im a bit nit picky I know, similarly like I have twitch in my eye from that cool neutrals Sigma palette where half of it is warm :) Im like why would they call it cool neutrals? 😅 what do you think about that one? But I definitely agree with you on Lisa Eldridge range, I love her brand and her vision and her as a person but the cool tone shades are greatly underrepresented in her range of lipstick shades, I can pull of Blush but already Blush Lightly with it’s just a slightly warmer undertone looks not great on me, the nudes? Swatched all of them and no way, I have Muse but by itself it just looks so orange on my lips, I’m hoping someday she will do a shade like Mac Ripened that almost lavender greyish mauve which is my perfect nude but for most people it is straight purple

@magicxspace5406 yes but the theme of the video is to share cool toned NUDE lipsticks. There are other cool tones out there but those would no longer be a nude. I want to share my picks for cool tones in the more colorful category as well. Cool toned nude lipsticks are very hard to find as they need a bit of peach to make it a nude. Other undertones would make it a pink or a purple in my brain not a nude. What you are describing (the lavender grey) wouldn't even show up on me as my lips are so pigmented. And no I don't have warmtones in my skin. But my eyes are dark and my hair is a warm blonde which allows me to get away with things that aren't 100% cool toned. As for the Sigma palette: I will discuss it in a video soon. But while it may not be cool toned for people with cool undertones, it may be cool toned for people who are warm or who have deeper skin tones. As for color analysis: I did a whole video on why I think it is just a way to get peopleto buy more and a way to make people feel insecure about things they shouldn't. I don't care about flattering as long as it makes me feel like a million bucks I will wear it.
