Even in the pandemic, the Netherlands is able to export 96 billion euros worth of agricultural products such as meat, milk, flowers and vegetables. The Netherlands is the second largest exporter of agricultural products in the world after the US. And that for a small area.
this is nonsens. how can a country possibly compete with the us if it is heavily sanctioned and every trade with given country becomes super expensive. this has never been a race, at least not a fair one
lol It is called Intermediary Trade. China->Hong Kong->(Singapore)->World. So all numbers from those city states are irrelevants. It's double counting.
What did netherland and belgium produce that have such among of export? Asml? And How do Germany such a small country that can have such an among of exportation? Car and high tech industry?
Germany owns a lot of Cars (Opel, Porsche, Audi, BMW etc.) that’s why. And the Netherlands export many flowers. They own 80% of the tulips, and tulips are very popular. But also food, chemicals and cars.
@@masteryoda8015 Tulips? Looks like you have the Tulip Mania of 1637 on your mind. The first recorded speculative bubble in history. Of course Tulips are not of economical importance for the Netherlands anymore: Machinery including computers: US$103.6 billion (15.3% of total exports) Electrical machinery, equipment: $94 billion (13.9%) Mineral fuels including oil: $59.1 billion (8.8%) Pharmaceuticals: $49.5 billion (7.3%) Optical, technical, medical apparatus: $37.1 billion (5.5%) Vehicles: $26.6 billion (3.9%) Plastics, plastic articles: $25.2 billion (3.7%) Organic chemicals: $18.2 billion (2.7%) Other chemical goods: $14.5 billion (2.2%) Iron, steel: $12 billion (1.8%)
Germany is not a small country. The population of the USA is just 3.9 times larger. Germany is the 19th largest country in the world (195 countries). Area is not important except for the exploitation of natural resources. Many large countries consist of deserts and other useless areas. Germany is dense and organized. Comparable to the most urban areas of the U.S. on the East Coast.
Gee, I think its more I was an adolescent for most of it and by the time I became an adult China was already on route to overtake the US. Which yes is covered by western media. 20 years is not a long time for what has happened in China, so I feel regardless its impressive.
@@drewh3224 I thought it was made in India? Like - I understand that we have a strong R&D sector, financial sector.. predominantly caused by Thatcherism.. but how on earth can a monetary export value be placed on services?
2014 China's GDP PPP per capita surpasses the USA just 1 year after they surpass them as most exports. Direct relationship there. Also china got a huge lead right as soon as Covid-19 started. China also got the most new billionaires the fastest in world history as soon as covid started (from another video).
@@SirValiantKnight there are 3 types of gdp kid, gdp ppp, gdp nominal and gdp per capita and actually actually surpassed America in gdp ppp, what you know only is gdp nominal.
Which to be honest is not a good thing at this time 😂 they banking sector will decline a lot in the next decades you can only imagine what that will do to the UK
And its not only oil. They have huge food production. Also the attracting taxing systems etc, draws them a lot of foreign investments. Many Times, foreign manufacturing company puts their european hq to The Netherlands and then serve all the EU from The Netherlands.
MVP: Germany (not surprised) Honorable mentions: Belgium (surprised) Hong Kong (City in The top 10 of countries) though i knew their economy is beast. I was expecting that korea would have done better. US could keep up with china surprisingly long. Very impressive feat from them.
Actually look at Japan .. peaked in 2012 at 918 .. and since then as aging population has hit limiting productivity .. down, down, down. They managed to stop the decline but most of the increase after that was due to inflation in value not growth. By 2020 they almost made it back to 2012 limits then .. Covid. Their population is going to have real trouble dealing with this to recover. And this is China's future except for them it will be even worse. Over the next 10-15 years about those over 65 will grow from about 10% of the population to close to 30%. And over 25 years it may approach 45%. The people in China are in their most productive work years right now (hence the surge in economic production). but population controls means only 20% of the population is 20 and under. There are NOT ENOUGH people in china to replace the again work force. And they are not preparing despite the lessons of China. You could easily see a massive collapse of the economy. The slow down is already a sign of the strain and more to come.
@@NewEraaG Netherlands is impressive but if knew it. But yes Netherlands obviously has one of the strongest overall economies in the World, definitely a top 10 country. For an example Japan, such a Big player has Big problems on their economy and they are not improving.
@@walterengler5709 You are likely to see this sort of collapse in the entire developed world. We have sacrificed our future to enjoy the present. Sad but true but those in the developing world will likely be the ones ruling it in the near future.
@@gwestcot See this is the one spot where the US has been doing OK, accidently. The flow in of immigrants both legal and illegal has kept the population growing at a slower rate (hence the declining percentage of European descendants in the population). Now while aging will prove a challenge the influx of new blood, and children, is pushing off any major issue. And as long as the US can avoid imploding under it's own stupidity, this growth will keep the country growing, and make it attractive to better immigrants as well, as self feeding cycle of continued growth.
Singapore was in the chart multiple times. Unlike Hong Kong it is not executing mainland trades so considering its just a dot in terms of landmass and population it's just unbelievable!!👏👏👏
True, also I always find it weird in these type of country rankings in western media they always separate HK from China's stats, as if its not also China or something.
Mainland China exports most of their goods at Hongkong until 2002,at that year,China became a member of WTO,so don't compare Hongkong with China, Hongkong is part of China,it's ignorant.

And yet the Germans are so often putting themselves down and criticizing their efforts. There is a saying there that goes like this: "No critique is enough praise." Americans: *shocked* 🤣🤣
It often seems the opposite. I rarely ever see Germans criticizing themselves. Rather, I see them talking about how humble they are. Usually, you reserve that comment for someone else to notice.
@@robertcarson3116 Iam from Germany and Iam really trying to be neutral but I have never seen a German in my life who would say that Germans are humble almost every German you ask will tell you that Germans are very envyous in general and how other nations are doing way better than us and its kinda true
@@wfefeefhh Well, perhaps that never came up in conversation, but if you lurk around RU-vid and other sites, Germans are almost always talking about their country in a positive light and will refuse to criticize it. The only time I've seen criticism was when the government first decided to send just 5000 helmets to Ukraine and then when some members of the German government were somewhat favorable to Russia. Other than that...nothing.
@@robertcarson3116 I guess that was just very random but I can tell you nearly nobody is proud to be a German. We don't have a lot nationalism I mean there are discussion to ban the German flag and forbid to sing the national anthem at sport events and so on 😂 many people I know want to move away in a few years so yea I don't think there are many of them you just accidentally stumbled on the only 10 proud German that exist
Hmm Idk if the U.S can compete with China in exports there labor is very cheap but then again I didn’t expect us to be in the top that long either we will see ig
Dang , Indias exports in 2019 was just 538 billion $ , an increase of 7% than 2018. Hope make in India, achieves its full potential in the next 4-5 years .
Make in India is an empty political slogan. Imports to India from China reached nearly $100 billion for the first time in calendar year 2021. India’s trade deficit with China in 2021, according to the provisional DGCIS figures, stood at $61 billion compared to $39 billion in 2020.
Germany is third and has a population of 83 billion and beats all these other countries in the world even India with 1.4 Billion. They are the 17th most populated country in the world and 3rd place. Thats tells you that they might be the smartest in the world. The UK is 4th but Germany is 1.5 trillion UK is 0.83 trillion. USA and China is 1 and 2 but 1st and 3rd most populated.
