In my opinion, I was struggling with champions road for far longer than perfect run, not saying perfect run wasn't still annoying, I just felt like champions road was far worse.

my dad told me that he completed mario bros 3 on an arcade engine when he was 12 and it took him 11 hours he came home next morning and spent his night at arcade shop. its still his favourite game and play it on some nintendo emulator sometimes

Maybe it was a NES inside an arcade cabinet. SM3 is really not an arcade game. I used to take about 7 hours to complete this game as a kid playing at home.

To this day, I miss playing Super Mario Bros. 3. That was my all-time favorite game as a kid, and I tried to play the entire game, completing every level without losing a single life. Took a long time, but I accomplished that goal. I miss quest games like those.

In SMW, an exploit I found to make "Tubular" MONUMENTALLY easier is to bring a blue Yoshi with you, eat a ParaKoopa at the beginning of the level, and fly to the end without death, trust me, the Blue Yoshi trick is way easier than using the P-Balloon

8-3 in lost levels was literally hell for me. Luckily, once I had my own strategy I was able to pull through and beat it twice. I wanted to play the entire game with both Mario and Luigi and I did.

The Zesty Potato. In one of the stages where you have to blow up boxes the trick is to to run to the bottom of the screen and then take one column at the time.

Dude, it's really easy! PKSparkxx DathottneSS gives you a tip to make it easy. Use the lights in the ground. Throw the Bob-Ombs in those exact spots, and you're golden! Also note that Bob-Ombs take 9 seconds to detonate. If you can get to the last few piles within those 9 seconds, you've basically won.

Yeah, if playing all the way through the game. Honestly though, it's not that hard. Pro-tip: play all the hand levels before it. Even if you don't get grabbed by the hands. Use the leafs for the airships.

I actually managed to beat the perfect run, but only after I stayed awake for 12 hours straight. In my opinion, the perfect run IS the hardest Mario level ever created.

Stuff that I think is ridiculously hard in Mario that didn't make the list: S8-Crown (SM3DL) Purple Coins in the Bone Pen (SMG) Purple Coins on Luigi Squared (SMG2) Pendulum Castle [along with (Cashless) Castle Crawl] (NSMBU) Trying to do the Expert/Superstar pack without dying (NSMBU) Mystery House Marathon/Captain Toad's Fiery Finale (SM3DW) Just a few I really raged over.

I must've lost nearly 100 lives before I completed Luigi's Purple Coins. Oh, God! This level is, in my opinion, the toughest I've ever played! It's a puzzle, but that's what makes this stage so fun. Just make sure you have plenty of lives, patience, and a pillow nearby to catch flying Wii remotes.

I always see Tubular in these lists and am left scratching my head. I was playing the SNES when I was 6-10 years old and was able to clear the entire game. Only reason I didn't get 100% completion was I didn't know you had to hit the halfway point marker to get full credit for a stage.

Takumi Is mine I can’t say whether I felt it was easier on the 3ds because there were way to many years in between. I can now pretty much beat any of these older games with in a couple days now (obviously not nonstop but long breaks) but trying to play for instance Mario odyssey on her switch is a lot harder for me.

This. The pinball machine level is hard, but it's no where near as hard as the floating leaf level until you realize one thing about the leaf level that makes it SUPER easy. You don't have to get it on your first try. If you miss a red coin, just keep going until the end and then walk carefully along the edge back to the beginning and try again. The walk back takes a while but it's worth it.

+Kai If you just make your way to the end, and then you can actually clip through the back and walk under the water. By doing a dive recovery at the right time, you can collect all of the coins. Then just backtrack to the start, and backflip onto the lilypad that respawns.

I got to the rosalina part of Grandmaster Galaxy the perfect run and I cheered so hard I stepped on the plug shutting off the game. You can only imagine the shock I was in when that happend
