In this video we'll be going over the best fusion monsters that are level 5 or lower, because that's basically the range for instant fusion to bring them directly out of the extra deck. Although we will be talking about cards that are not proper targets for instant fusion as well.

@@fernandoguillenperez7686 yeah but in master rule 4 you can't link Millenium Eyes away after you finished your combo cuase then your opponent would disrupt it with a hand trap, but now in master rule 5 you can use it AND still have space for your link monsters, I think it will see a lot more play than before just for that

Honorable mention for Panzer Dragon, since it can be used with Instant Fusion to provide your choice of a Material for something like Cyber Dragon Nova (to then go into Infinity) or Constellar Pleiades, or a flexible targeting pop during the End Phase.

I just use Pair Cycroid because it does the same thing, but you can also get a 3200 beater that can attack directly if you use Power Bond.

@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 When it comes to Instant Fusion in particular (which is the topic of this list), Pair Cycroid fills a similar niche to Panzer Dragon, but not quite the same. The differences mainly come from the monsters' different Attributes and Panzer Dragon's on-destruction effect. If you Instant Fusion for Panzer Dragon and let it die in the End Phase, you can pop a card. If you Instant Fusion for Pair Cycroid and let it die in the End Phase, all you get out of it is a Pair Cycroid in your Graveyard that is considered properly Summoned (and therefore can be revived).

@@djkates1916 Yeah, but, you can summon Pair Cycroid through other means in a machine deck aside from Instant Fusion. With Panzer Dragon you'd have to build your deck around getting it out to an extent if you want it to be used more often than just an Instant Fusion target, and I don't think it's worth it, especially since they both function just as well at being XYZ materials. It basically gets out Cyber Dragon Infinity easier and can be used as a 'Cowboy for game,' for machine archetypes, which I think is probably much more useful, mainly because popping a card is so easy these days and there are better cards than Panzer, but generic cards that can attack directly are rarer and becoming more useful as the meta evolves.

Typically anything that places a counter doesn't count as targeting, anything that broadly affects the entire field. if the card doesn't specifically say 'targets', then it doesn't target.

Even with needle fiber in the game, the fusion monster still doesn't see any play. Needlefiber works great with rokket/borrel though.

Great list but I have to point out one incorrect thing. Zoodiacs used to use Fusion Substitute with Norden, not Polymerization. The idea was that you could abuse Norden multiple times, use Lunalight Black Sheep to search Fusion Sub (it treated itself as Polymerization) then after a Zoo player couldnt abuse Norden anyone that turn, banish Fusion Sub from GY to put Norden back in the Extra Deck and draw 1 card.

If Millennium Eyes weren’t a 40$ card I truly believe it would see much more successful play. But not as many players are truly experimenting with it for this reason.

Well... I mean, considering there are other cards that cost more than $40 and being played successfully I highly doubt that's the reason lol. While its effect is great, you could just run called by the grave which does pretty much the same thing.

Money is basically irelevant for highest competetive play. People that book flights and hotels to play at a ygo tournament don't really care how much a card costs as long as it's good and gives them the edge over other players. Imp and Thanos Dragon in Salads is the best example for that. The deck costs 500$ more just because of these cards even tho without them the deck would be still very good and probably see competetive play but having that slight edge is worth for pro players because they don't want to do well at the event, they want to win (or get a top-cut atleast) and over the course of a long tournament the differences are significant

Combo: When an opponent controls several (strong) monsters like a HERO deck likes to do quickly, then I use Instant Fusion to summon Thousand-Eyes Restrict, snatch one monster, link it to become Relinquished Anima and then snatch another monster pointed above. This only works if the opponent has monsters in the middle zones or Link monster which points onto my field to summon Relinquished Anima to a good spot. But by just paying 1000LP, I snatched two monsters and possibly end the turn with a strongly equipped Relinquished Anima having gained the ATK of the equipped monster or use this card for more combos like Link, Tribute or other summonings.

I think Cyber Saurus was the Instant Fusion target I used the most before Norden came out. It was a Lv. 5 Machine, so it could be used to go into Karakuri Synchros, and it was a Lv. 5 Earth, so it could be overlayed with Madolche Puddicess to make Choco Al A Mode.

I haven't played YuGiOh since back in 2004. I would be so lost if I got back into it today. But I remember Thousand Eyes Restrict was my best monster; it wasn't Blue Eyes, Dark Magician, Invader of Darkness, BLS:EotB, CED:EotE. It was this level one, fusion, lock down monster. I had a few folks wanting to buy the card from me, but I didn't. I eventually sold my entire deck for $80 at Trading Card Convention in Atlanta, GA.

My personal favorite and really disagreeable one is debris dragon 4☆ 1000atk 2000def Effect can only synchro summon dragon types and can't fuse with another 4 star however it can target and special summon any monster with less than 500 atk in your graveyard in attack. I use it in a stardust deck with a couple 2☆s, 3☆s, and 1☆s with less than 500 atk sacrifice set debris dragon, survive then set the next required level, flip debris dragon and get my last card on the field just in time to add my stardust dragon

I think Metlfoes Adamante deserves an honourable mention for being the strongest Level 5 non-Effect Fusion Monster. Which makes a great target for Daigusto Emeral.

The other thing with Millennium Eyes Restrict is you have to go through the whole rigmarole of using Black Illusion Ritual to summon Relinquished, which requires 2 sacrifices for Black Illusion Ritual to work, then you have to fuse Relinquished with an effect monster (ANY, though, which means you have a trash effect monster card in your hand like Sinister Serpent or Man-Eater Bug, for example: you're good to go). In the end, you've tossed at least 4 monster cards.

I like how two of these actually are in my Thunder Dragon deck : Kaminari to summon Titan and Thousand-Eyes Restrict to deal with destruction immune monsters. And with Ready Fusion that has a similar effect (it just doesn't work on Thousand-Eyes), Titan gets to constantly hit the field.

Unpopular opinion but I think they should get rid of the erratas of most cards. Most of them are old and not that great anymore or if they are super op just keep them banned but if used in a no ban list tournament let them be full powered 😁

Zoodiac summoned Norden with Fusion Substitute, which is the same as poly except you can only use monsters on field, but most importantly had a graveyard effect to return a fusion monster to your ED to draw one card. Return your 1 Norden, summon it again and again and again… that was one of my least favourite formats of all time because it took them so long to do their full combo. Fortunately I played Grass Infernoids so I would just mill 40 cards and break their board.

Making Norden’s effect only work with fusion summons wouldn’t do anything. Instant fusion actually is a proper fusion summon. The only reason you can’t use it that on things like Seraphinite is because it doesn’t use the proper materials, and not because it doesn’t fusion summon.

It's effect would still go off when bringing it out with Instant Fusion, but having it only work when it is fusion summoned would prevent it's effect from being used again when special summoned from the GY, which is where most of the combo potential came from.

How to get around Winda: Normal summon Grand Mole. Enter Battle Phase, attack with Grand Mole, then use its effect to bounce it back to the extra deck.
