When I saw Astoria at #2 I knew immediately which was #1 and my guy I can't even be mad at you for not putting "No Place Like Home" (my personal favourite) anywhere on here. Can't argue with a masterpiece.

Yay! He finally made it! As a fellow Trench fan, I agree with your reasoning behind every entrant and don't really dislike any of their songs. I'm definitely looking forward to getting Phantoms when it comes out. Frankly, I think it's unfair that Drake is the big Canadian artist big in the US, while MT can't get any traction outside of Canada. Also, God's Plan's music video was totally ripped off from Who Do You Love.

I've been a fan practically my whole life, right from when my mom played their stuff for me when i was 4 years old. They've always been my favourite and i cant express how much they mean to me at this point.

I remember voting for All To Myself on Much Music's MOD (I dunno if that's even still a thing). Can't believe it's been ten years. I loved them at 16 and love them now at 26. Great list; almost thought you'd put Masterpiece I, II, and III at number one (but that really would be cheating then).

My favourite Josh Ramsay vocal moment (though the guy turns almost everything he touches to gold) will always be that F#5 in the outro to Masterpiece Theatre III. It’s so euphoric and desperate, and it truly feels like an arrival, or the end of a long, grueling journey.

I've always wanted to get into this band, I remember hearing One Love a few years back and I thought, man this is amazing, now after watching this video I will be getting more into this band, also keep up the great work with your videos as always :)

I’m late to this video 😅 but I agree with your pic for number 1. Masterpiece Theatre III is what hooked me on the band. I had heard Beside You back in 2010, but I didn’t really get into the band until 2014 when Ever After came out. Fallout reintroduced me to them and then I went down a rabbit hole of listening to them. Once I heard Masterpiece Theatre III, I was a goner. Been a fan ever since.

I first heard Masterpiece Theatre III (without having heard any other Marianas Trench songs) on the Five Giants MAP, and let me tell you, even though it was filled with moments from the book series I love, I don't think it would have brought me to tears like it did if not for the song.

This video came out two years ago and I’ve only recently listened through Marianas Trench’s discography...

I saw in an interview once where Josh Ramsay was talking about Stutter. He said the song was about putting off a conversation you don't want to have. The song is about Josh Ramsay avoiding talking with his partner about how their relationship was falling apart. The song is really depressing if you read the lyrics without the music. I think the juxtaposition of that song is what makes it so interesting. But Porcelain and Forget Me Not are my personal favorites. Don't make me choose!

if i had to pinpoint the moment i knew i needed to check out this band it was when spectrum pulse was doing his top songs of 2015 list and i watched it and heard dearly departed and astoria on the list and thought huh these are pretty good. listened to the songs and i remember mark saying that dearly departed name checks a bunch of other marianas trench songs and so I went back and listened to the song and it hits so much harder. plus went ahead and re listened to the whole album again because it can't hurt too much to listen to one of my favorite albums over again right but god the additional layer that is added on to "we never sent the cards there all still on the table want to throw them out but i'm just not able" as not just referring to wedding invitations but to his own music that he feels so tempted to throw away but can't with how much it still means to him.

Huzzah! Mariana's Trench has been my favourite for a long time. Josh Ramsay has sooo much talent. I would love to see him and Lin Manuel Miranda collab on a musical :D
