Cal's streak started in May of '82, and he broke Gehrig's record in September of '95. I started kindergarten in August of '82 and finished high school in June of '95. Kinda puts the record into perspective. That's a crazy long amount time.

I love that Tony Gwynn was part of that. Definitely the right guy to be standing beside Ted Williams.

Ah, the 90s....it was truly the best of times. The Ted Williams moment was incredible, but now looking back I'm not sure anything tops the great Jack Buck's "and we'll see you tomorrow night!"

That's a great moment - Especially if you link it to his son Joe Buck's call in the Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS when David Ortiz hits his extra inning walk off homer (after midnight), keeping the Red Sox alive, and Joe says, "We'll see ya LATER tonight..." Say what you will about Joe Buck - the cat understands baseball

1:10 should have honestly had the Dave Niehaus call to this play. Nothing against Brent Musberger, but Dave's call is way more legendary

I usually have something to argue on these videos, but you pretty much nailed it. The debate then becomes, with all these great moments in one decade, despite the stike in 94, was the 90s tue greatest decade in baseball history? I say yes.

Good list, and great moments all of them. It's really hard to whittle things down to 10. If I were putting together this list, I would keep 6 of the same moments. (1) I couldn't keep Nolan Ryan's 5000th strikeout, because that didn't occur during the 1990s. I would replace it with Ryan's 7th no-hitter. (2) I'd want to get Sid Bream's NLCS-winning run from 1992 onto my list. I would take off David Cone's perfect game to do this. (3) I'd want Gene Larkin's World Series-winning hit from 1991 on my list. (Such a great series -- it can have two moments in the top 10). I'd take off 1995 Braves to get it on my list. (4) Rickey Henderson broke the stolen base record in 1991, and I gotta have that on my list. So, I'd remove the Williams tribute.

Edgar's double is still referred to in Seattle as "The Double". I wish you could have found a copy of that play where the Mariners broadcasting team was calling that shot. It was an amazing call.

Players today could take a lesson from Cal Ripken Jr. Impeccable work ethics, working everyday through pain and injuries to set a standard that will never be matched. I’m a die hard Yankee fan that had much respect for him and Nolan Ryan. Work horses that loved their job.

Couldn't agree more. Cal Ripken Jr. was a fantastic role model for all young athletes and professionals.

-Ryan’s 5K K was in ‘89 -‘95 WS? Multiple teams won ONE World Series in the 90’s: Twins, Reds, Marlins. IMHO, 90’s Braves winning only one should be a reason not to be in this video. -David Wells Perfect Game in 1998. -Dennis Martinez perfect game in 1991. -Rickey breaking the all-time SB record in ‘91. -Clemens back-to-back Pitching Triple Crowns and Cy Youngs in ‘97 and ‘98. -Yankees 3rd WS in 4 years. (‘96, ‘98, ‘99) -Cecil Fielder 50th HR in 1990 (13 years since the previous 50-homer season, longest drought ever)

Why the Braves winning and not the Marlins which was a walkoff?

Imagine the WBC, the U.S would hav had a dream team, Jeter, Gwynn, Bonds, McGwire, Griffey, Chipper, Bagwell, Biggio, Ripken, Clemens, Maddux, Glavine, Johnson, Smoltz, DR would be loaded too but they would only hav Pedro pitching, there wasn’t another good pitcher I can think of, PR no pitching, Venezuela was still young with rookie talent, Japan wouldn’t win with just Nomo, Ichiro, and Matsui, n Cuba only would hav Cansesco
