You can NEVER tell by looking at someone. Dee Gordon was popped for PEDs yet he's the last guy you would think just by looking at him. I don't believe Jeter ever took anything but my point is appearance can be incredibly deceiving and I would never judge if a guy is using or not based on simple appearance.

@@SugarRayTaylor you're right. I don't believe Jeter was on PEDs (I'm biased as a lifelong Yankee fan) but some PEDs don't blow you up. Not every PED is Dbol that inflates you in 4 weeks. Some others like Halotestin greatly increase strength with minimal weight gain. GH in micro to moderate dosages does gain much weight but injury proofs athletes by helping them recover so much faster. Not every PED makes skinny kids into Barry Bonds.

@@edtechspecialist true. Palmeiro got busted for Winny and while that's one anabolic that doesn't add a ton of weight, it helps greatly with muscles speed and a decent bit with strength. That's why assloads of MMA fighters have been busted for Stanozolol as well without looking excessively juiced.

Couldn't have said it better myself, he was my favorite baseball player of all time. Great hitter, class act and never took PEDs. Always hustled and had a knack for hitting in the clutch. My favorite Jeter play was when he threw the ball to Posada to get Giambi out. That wasn't even his position, how did he have the instinct to be there in that play? I remember seeing that game on TV back in 2001 and will always remember that play.

I'm pleasantly surprised there was only one. Over the years, there were a handful of voters who refused to give one of their votes to a first-ballot candidate out of some sort of principle. This is why you see so many slam-dunk, no-questions-asked inductees who got "only" 99 percent of voters. That he got 396 out of 397 tells me some of those sticklers have retired or passed on in recent seasons.

Google 'Derek Jeter' overrated and dozens upon dozens of articles show up detailing why a this very good baseball player has become in the eyes of causal fans and media that caters itself to a causal audience an all-time great player. Jeter was a good hitter, a poor defender, and benefitted hugely from being drafted by the a team that surrounded him with incredible talent. Jeter is basically Ryne Sandberg, but with a much more favorable supporting cast and media market.
