I love both Dredd films, now and forever. Never again will we have an era films of such character. I pray for Urban to return, to take the long walk and bring law to the lawless. A series of 1 hour episodes covering years 1,2 and 3 but with extra long specials for Cold Light of Day and Wear Iron would be the dream
I wouldn’t say laws are generally unjust. They are laws that exist without a parcial context, the context is to be applied by the human side of the law system. Everyone has a reason to break any law so few contextual exceptions should be written into law. Like most human things it’s complicated because so are we.
It is utterly ridiculous how d.c. keeps recycling overhyped heroes from the justice league, and not cashing in on great potential ok characters like the JUDGE DREDD UNIVERSE
Although cool, I don't see any benefit from the matchup- like extraterrestrials wouldn't challenge the law. A good Judge story should have either a criminal aspect, maybe adversary that believes to be above the law- like the church or something
you just have a rare special sense that alerts you to things that may not be entirely transparent to others who required a sign a person screaming it while beating them in the head with the sign after spiking their chalky milk with all the Adderall. Your common sense is tingling.
Judge Cal was my fav brought MC1 to it's kness financially and emotionally. Millions of citizens killed the compensation payments ran into millions of creds
Also didn't include Judge Kraken, one of the Fargo clones that literally took up the mantle of Dredd in the first part of Necropolis. Like, wtf who wrote this list?
Just a few notes about the design of Dredd John Wagner wanted it to look like David Carridines character Frankenstein from Deathrace 2000. Carlos Esquerra took inspiration from the conquistadors and once you had that add on usual fascist iconography Eagles etc as that was what the character was parodying.
Not even two minutes in and the sentence "his helmet obscures all of his face" makes my blood boil. How is it all of his face WHEN YOU SEE THE LOWER HALF?!!?!?!?
lol its the opposite, DC copied judge deaths look, plagiated it and made a batman version looking like him..... Judge death and the dark judges were drawn and created back in 1980s ;) Batman who laugh was created in late 2000s.
Where's the audible comics? Or judge dredd cartoons?? I think the 2014 ones seem a little bit ropey. Although good to see judge dredd content. Or anything to do with 2000AD. I used to have all the comics. I hear there's a podcast. Would be great to hear the stories. If anyone's got any links that would be great??? Double whammy*** BLAM**!!!!
You left out Judge Kraken from the Necropolis story, who actually took up the identity of Judge Dredd. He went nuts and started working with Judge Death, but there for a bit he was the new Dredd.
Both good movies, each in their own right. However, the only issue I take with the Stallone version is the departure from the spirit of the character only because Sly had to show his mug on screen...c'est la vie.
Two things I just thought of, if Dredd is a clone and he is the best why isn't there an army of Dredds and second how does the law giver read his palm print if he's wearing gloves?
the dread IP is too niche, both the 90s film and 2012 films just did not generate enough money despite being loved by a lot of people, movies have to make money, i still cant believe avatar 2 made a billion dollars lmao what a fkn joke.
