Great video! I've seen three of these. I'm digging through that Shout Factory 'not on streaming sale' this morning which the content of is kind of similar to this series. I can't believe they made Used Cars in 4K; love that movie.
I suspect it may be because Zemeckis sells, especially his team ups with Bob Gale. If you want to know how BTTF came to be (or if you love its offbeat sense of humor), you need to see "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", "Used Cars", and "1941". On their own, they may be cult films, but they are also part of a major A-list director's formative early work, and so I suspect the popularity of his later work helps sell the early stuff. [TLDR: BTTF is the only reason I know of "Used Cars"]
Haven't seen Fire in the Sky yet. Have been wanting to for years but haven't got it yet. I love For Richer or Poor. I like that you do vidoes covering obscure titles many out there wouldn't normally hear about. That is something I like to do on my channel. There are a lot of great movies out there that are not mainstream and I like to recommend. Keep it up!
Interesting list. Some I definitely haven't heard of and may have to check out. Especially Simply Irresistible, For Richer or Poorer, and Timer. She's Out Of My League is one of my favorite comedies. Love that movie! Really liked Fire In the Sky and remember liking The Distinguished Gentleman.
I saw all but , Timer & Southbound : which seems like a play on Identity - I’ll check it out. I have that imprint of Fire in the sky, good transfer, The Mothman Prophecy by Imprint was a good transfer as well.
I absolutely love Shadow of the Vampire. I have a digital copy, and I found the DVD on Mercari for around $20. The guy sent me a $2 off offer, and when I went for it, it was gone. Other than that, it's pay the eBay price. Lol. Which I've thought about. BTW, Emma Caulfield is awesome. I have a wooden stake signed by Emma and the action figure from the Hell's Belles episode. Amber Benson(Tara) is awesome too. She told me that her mom had a bunch of her stuff in her garage that she wanted out of her way and gave me her email to get in touch and buy some of it. It would take a long time to list everything that I bought. Lol. I got DVDs of a couple of her movies, her book, her CD, and a ton of Buffy stuff: action figures, 8x10s, etc, and I got doubles of everything she had more than one of, all signed. I'm a big Buffy fan.😂
that's awesome!!! I am a huge Buffy fan myself, you'll see me talk about Buffy on a video that will be out tomorrow or Thursday!! and talk about it a lot!!! Shadow of the Vampire is way underrated in my opinion
Great video! I haven’t come across any of these recommendations before, but a few of them definitely caught my interest. The one that intrigues me the most is ‘Shadow of the Vampire,’ especially with its inevitable use of diegetic elements. 😁
Have seen most of 'em. Here are 10 more movies you might've never seen: - Cherry Falls (2000) - Dave Made a Maze (2017) - Frank (2014) - Harpoon (2019) - Lucky Day (2019) - No One Lives (2012) - Suicide Kings (1997) - The Children (2008) - The Sin Eater (2003) - Vivarium (2019)
A few titles that don't get mention much is Daylight's End, War On Everyone, Small Time Crime, Predestination and Automata. Southbound is a movie I watched on cable a few years ago and immediately ordered the blu ray, it's worthy of being in my collection. 👍
OMG, I forgot about (and LOVE) TiMER. It was an original. Thanks for reminding me about this, I'm going to check it out again. One movie I loved but can't find: an independent film written, directed and starring Julie Davis: Amy's Orgasm. It's not as raunchy as it sounds, though it has some racy dialogue and a racy scene here and there. It's basically a low budget Rom-Com. it's actually quite sweet. And it also stars Nick Chinlund, a fine actor. Thanks for the list.
@@AVAPopCulture you're so right. And you reminded me of another one: Kissing Jessica Stein. A wonderful story about love, relationships and acceptance.
Another great video! One of my favorite underrated and not talked about movies is Nothing But Trouble with Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Demi Moore and a slew of others. Such an off the wall, dark comedy. Have you seen this? If so, maybe add it to your next video in this series, lol!
I love simply irresistible but how did you even think for a second it was horror or supernatural haha. It's definitely just a romantic drama with minutes of magic in it. I love it but everyone I've showed it to has hated it. Either way, thank you for highlighting it!
@dartjo5431 lol I caught myself...I never script anything so I just hit record and talk from my memory for 30 or 40 minutes per video- not as easy to do that and flow your thoughts clearly and pull the exact descriptive words lol...magic is kinda the supernatural so I rolled with that lol 😆
@@AVAPopCulture haha no need for an explanation I was playing but I get it 😄! Great video nonetheless and added some new movies to my watch pile. Keep up the great content!
I really want to get Fire in the Sky and was wondering why you chose the Imprint release over the Shout? They both look seem to have similar 2k transfers and similar supplements?
I grabbed the imprint version for the nice slip cover lol - I basically got it for the same price as the SF version but I got the nice thick slip with it -no other reason because they are basically the same! I really want a 4k though
@@AVAPopCulture I forgot to mention the Blu ray is a copy of the extended version. I have not watched it yet, so I cannot tell you how good the quality is. Another film you may like is The Night Flyer based on a Steven King story..
Some of my that people don’t know starting with probly known Spun. Rolling Kansas comedy. Rivers Edge drama star studded and great metal sound track Rolling has great music also and great road trip car
ironically the only one ive seen & own is She's Out Of My League.. go figure lol. I remember seeing For Richer or Poorer in Theaters lol don't remember how well it's aged, its been awhile.
