Thought I'm not French, I love Le Marsellaise. Not just because of it's melody, but because of it's lyrics which encourages it's citizenry to fight tyranny and oppression. I know it's not a pacifist song but pacifism in the face of tyranny, it's no virtue.

Coming from an American who opposes the Russian government, I have to say the Russian anthem is #1. Absolutely beautiful. The USSR anthem ( Russian Anthem, but has different lyrics basically) is also absolutely amazing. But my anthem is also easily top 10. I love my country’s anthem

Good to see the Swedish national anthem get some time in the spot light. Fun fact about our national anthem is that its one of the few in the world which is not singing about the own country, we actually sing: "Jag vill leva, jag vill dö i Norden", which translates to "I want to live, I want to die in The Nordics" and it is from the time when Sweden wanted The Nordics to be a own country.

I'm only Italian-American, but the Italian anthem is my favorite. It's just so rousing and powerful. If I was fluent in Italian, it would also sound pretty fun to sing. I'm also the type of person who will pretend to conduct it (it also helps that it's in 4/4 time, my favorite time signature). The French, Russian, and Japanese national anthems are some of my other favorites, though they don't top Italy's.

I personally think the British national anthem is stupid. It has nothing to do with the country. It is only about the queen.

Uruguayn anthem is very beautiful and there are others too of course. But I'm from Finland and our national anthem is the most beautiful of them all. Also South African anthem is also a very beautiful one. Edit: The honorable mentions should include Finnish anthem too.

Es war das Jahr 1998. Ich war erst 10 Jahre alt. Ich wurde in Deutschland geboren und war in diesem Jahr in der 5. Klasse. In unserer Klasse mit 17 Schülern waren nur drei Deutsche Schüler. Alle anderen waren mit einem Migrationshintergrund. Ich war die EINZIGE TÜRKIN in meiner Klasse. Wir hatten Musikunterricht und unsere Musiklehrerin Frau Eberlein legte eine CD in das Tonbandgerät und bat uns, zu erraten, zu welchen Ländern die Hymnen gehörten, die wir hören werden. Nachdem die ersten Hymnen angehört und erraten wurden, begann plötzlich die türkische Nationalhymne zu spielen. Als ich die ersten Töne der Hymne hörte, bekam ich Gänsehaut und meine Augen füllten sich mit Tränen. Während die Nationalhymne weiter auf dem Band lief, machten meine Klassenkameraden Vermutungen, aber niemand kam auf die Idee, dass eine so schöne Hymne zur Türkei gehören könnte. Unsere Lehrerin Frau Eberlein bemerkte, dass ich emotional wurde. Sie schaute mir in die Augen und wartete darauf, dass ich meine Hand hob und sagte, dass die Hymne „Türkische Nationalhymne“ sei. Aber ich konnte nicht sprechen, weil ich vor lauter Emotionen einen Kloß im Hals hatte. Türkische Hymne war zu Ende und Frau Eberlein fragte mich vor der ganzen Klasse: „Pınar, zu welchem ​​Land gehört diese Hymne?“ Ich sagte mit ganzem Stolz: „Es gehört der TÜRKEI!“ Die Klasse war sehr überrascht, alle sahen mich erstaunt an. Ich begann Stimmen im Klassenzimmer zu hören, die sagten: „Oh, wirklich?
