Whenever there is a very species available chances are that wild caught which sucks because it's never good to wild catch animals
@nanoreefer1622
@nanoreefer1622 3 года назад
Every species in captivity where wild caught as some point or another. Wild caught animals are perfectly fine providing its regulated and they are not over collected. Infact will caught specimens are useful to captive populations as it introduces fresh bloodlines into the captive population and reduces inbreeding. Captive populations can then be reintroduced into wild if necessary.

T. Seladonia has definitely come down a lot in price, there was spiderlings recently available in the uk from one of the main tarantula dealers here that were being sold for £95 or around $140 which isn't super cheap but they are still way too complicated for me to try keeping them especially with such specific housing requirements, i would always want my Ts comfort to be priority and I don't think i cpuld deliver on that with a T. Seladonia

Damn! Tarantulas are expensive in the US. You can get some of these in the UK for a fraction of the price. For instance a seledonia spiderling would set you back maybe £75 and a chilobrachys electric blue about £20/25. I guess there is far more keepers in the US and a few egg sacs of a rare species in the UK would probably satisfy the demand for the whole country.
@the1killjoy657
@the1killjoy657 2 года назад
Yeah I noticed this, I'm fairly sure the spider shop had Brazilian jewel slings for around £90 a few weeks ago, unfortunately I couldn't justify the spend on a 1cm sling otherwise I would've snapped one up.

I've only seen one A mooreae for sale, it's $450, but when I saw the same one at an expo from the same seller, it was $400.

This is a great video- thanks- I'm wondering if any of these are endangered, or if the collectors represent any threat to the populations of the spiders-

I've got a Sp electric blue coming tomorrow, can't wait to see it! probably not as rare now 2 years since this video was made.. but still a beautiful addition to my collection! i've been researching husbandry for a few months, day in and day out watching everything i can, from TC's channel to Daves beasties here in the UK and Tom morans channel.. i pulled the trigger once i was confident i had the basics embedded, that was 3 weeks ago, my first tarantula was the Psalmopeous Irminia, second was the Harpactira Pulchripes, then the Psalmopeous Cambridgei, now i have the Sp electric blue and a balfouri coming tomorrow! it's addictive this hobby 😂 that's for sure! raising them all from slings so i can learn and grow with them.

If you haven't already checked out Dave's video of separating the slings of your #1 from their mother, you really should. It's an epic and humourous video, that I watch whenever I need a mood lift!✨🕷️✨

Love this list, I literally just picked up the lava spider today with a free second electric blue today from fear not. A person on Ksl here in Utah is selling T seladonia slings for $400 a pop. I considered asking but it costs twice as much as my lava T 😂

Haploclastus Devamatha is also significantly rare. It took me 4 years to find one and I spent 500 to buy it as a .75" sling. From what I see online they're available on the east coast but not central northern or western US.

For some reason had to watch this when I came across it. Not a fan of regular spiders. But these looked cool. But I will stick to my cards and comic collecting. :)
