In this 100% my personal opinion video I share with you all a few reasons why I love Corona Renderer! Please remember this is just my opinion and I really wanted to share some things that I don't think many people are aware of!
Hey Shawn. I know your prob busy and all but was really really hoping you could do a vid on the new physical material in corona 7. Much love mane, you’ve been a huge help to many.
Hi Shawn Love your tutorials, great stuff, very knowledgeable and full of very useful insights. Would it be possible if you could do a tutorial about scratch, damage and worn off edges shaders/textures. I am struggling to get decent results in Corona especially being able to control the damaged parts, like worn paint with metal showing around edges or scratches only in certain areas, or worn/chipped paint on any kind of surface with the substrate showing through. It’s not so much about the creation of those shaders, it’s more about the controlled application of them that is causing me headaches. If possible I would like to avoid having to use yet another app like Mari or 3D paint, but if Bodypaint is the answer, great as it is integrated into C4D. However, Bodypaint so far hasn’t given me the results either. Very few tutorials on the subject and none really do what I have tried to describe above in Corona. If you could crack this, would be amazing! Thanks in advance. And please keep on creating these great tutorials!
Hey, why should one use the node sistem in materials? Does it have extra features or just for poersons that are used to it like this. Thanks and awesome video
How come redshift and octane are way hyped over this then? I just got it thinking it was octane from my source and came to see if I messed up and so far I'm loving it:)
i just started out with corona and c4d and your tutorials are really helpful. thank you!!! also... cpu stands for central processing unit not computer processing unit. sorry for being an ass. thanks again!
@@shawnastrom thank u great video, i got enlightened. Corona is amazing i will get Corona btw it has student licence for very very reasonable price. Is it possible to share that robot fly scene? it would be a great benchmark scene to compare Ryzen vs Intel. Thanks in advance.
I'm running the latest trial of Corona for C4D and I don't see that option, I can enable caustics in material, but not in performance settings. It says on the website that latest version is from January.
I'm not a corona user, in fact I'm searching more about the render, but I don't think it's to me since there's no sketch and toon shader like Arnold, but looks like a good render for other purposes
Hi SHawn. The volume displacement from the arnold volume of your teaching exceeded that I did according to your operation. The wrong head on the arnold material was lost and the model was added with a contrast model. The model is irregular. Where is the problem with the model? Operation error thank you for your tutorial looking forward to your reply
Thanks so much for the kind words! I've had to put the RU-vid videos on pause. I'm now full time at Greyscalegorilla! Working on lots of exciting new stuff over there!
I feel like for a year I’ve been learning c4d and every time I say “ok. I’ve figured out this render engine stuff” I find another video that confuses that world view.
Hey Shawn, you’ve been quiet for while, what’s up? Probably very busy I know. But we miss your videos, what about Corona and Substance designer/painter integration workflow? Would be great! Thanks.
Hey Michael. So sorry I have not been making them lately. I work full-time now at Greyscalegorilla and unfortunately don't really use Corona ATM. I've been making material collections for GSG. Most recently Tech Products. Chad just released some great training on using scratch maps but Corona needs a curvature shader to be able to do these in the same way. Hopefully soon they will have added it!
Any of the new high core CPUs from AMD will work wonders with Corona. The new 5950x 16-core is amazing for the price! All depends on how much you want to spend.
@@shawnastrom I need something quick on the Interactive Rendering. I was looking into the 32 and 64 cores AMD, and now the 5950X came out. So I'm not sure, what's the the smart choice here.
Probably not! haha. They still don't have particle support and I'm VERY disappointed they ended up making their own node system and should have adopted Cinema's newer built in nodes.
So sorry but I am now full-time at Greyscalegorilla making new material collections for Arnold, Redshift and Octane. Sadly no Corona YET... Thank you for the support. I may have some on Greyscalegorilla in the future.
and the nice thing about corona render is you don't need cuda( NVIDIA gpu) to run it inside C4D like "octane , RedShift" you can run it in your integrated gpu (intel hd graphics )
saying corona is very fast is subjective blender guru" has run a comparison between corona / octane / vray .. etc and he found that corona speed compared to other render engines is in mid list , means "vray" come first, then "redshift" > "octane" > "corona"
@@dQminQ That's very impressive for an iMAC. I'd have to know the processor, but still to render something like that in 2 min @ 4k resolution on the CPU... wow.
I dont understand why corona does get any attention or credit like the rest of the renderers, its cheap and super easy and just as good as the other renderers if not better.
