I watch that couple episodes right after I found out my mom had cancer… so all I could think about was “is this gonna be how this ends?” So yeah, I think that was the saddest part. And I can’t watch that without crying
So true. Death was nothing special in vampire diaries, but Liz Forbes illness and her death, was so real and normal, that it really hit me. Also it shows that even in this show, sometimes dead is really the end. The funeral was so sad, I can't stop crying every time I see it.
One of the saddest moments for me is when Caroline had her humanity back with Stefan's help and she wanted to read her mother's last letter but she couldn't because she had just burnt it...😭😭😭😭
In I was feeling epic more than feeling sad for Stefan it overwhelmed me in a very different way wherein we saw how people grew so close to each other and how they found peace at the end...
Why nobody talks about the scene from season 7 where Damon breaks out about his mother and cries in front of Stefan, telling him that "Our mother faked her death started a new family to forget us forever" That scene was so heartbreaking it felt like Ian was really crying. And also when rose dies, that scene deserves to be in the list.
bonnie through out the whole show because she never got happiness. But really when she thinks elena and damon are coming to save her from the prison world but then she is still stuck over there and breaksdown on the steps is one of the saddest moments for me
@@swetagupta3927well I don’t know maybe because she died 3 times for people she loved sacrificed herself time and time again gave up everything for evryone
The most stupid is they did Bonnie so dirty she not even get the happy ending After saving all everybody’s asses the director decided to kill the love of he life Come on just admit it BS af
the most unncesary death was Enzo's, i mean at least they could've bring him back to life since he was in a new other side, just for him?? he was nt even in peace. in my mind they resurrected him after 8x16 i don't care.
The ending for me in general was pretty bad, they all deserved a happy ending from what they went through in the series, not the first time a director ruins a show with the final episode. Kinda like how I met your mother, that ending was so depressing
@@playtoday784 I disagree, I actually think that the TVD finale is one of the best finales I've seen actually.... it really made closure to it all, all characthers appeared and it had so many parallels with the first episode. one of the brothers had to die and Stefan's dead doesn't affect me honestly. The plan they had in mind originally was finishing the show in s6 with both of them dying and I think that would've been worse, kinda the Klaus and elijah ending. But the only thing i didn't like is Tyler's death and Enzo's death. Because those were unnecessary, the one was killed by Damon and the other Stefan amd neither had really the fault of ir but i don't get the point, Bonnie totally deserved her happy ending with Enzo, and tbh Tyler and Caroline should have ended up together as well, they never should've broken them up and that way Caroline would've gotten a happy ending too. But is not like a female character needs to be with a man at the end of to have a happy ending, but my point is they made them suffer by killing their loved ones 😅. But pls how I met your mother noooo that's the worse ending I've seen you just opened a scar for me 💔.
When Damon went to the prison world, everybody thought he's dead or he's never coming back, The way Elena broke down, that scene, OMG. "PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME" "I DONT HAVE A CHOICE BABY" I COULDN'T STOP MY TEARS.
The Twilight cast couldn't act! They were so shite at it, didn't do the books justice at all, vampire diaries was more believable, and Ian and Paul should have got more credit for being hilarious and heart rippingly brilliant ! They both are brilliant actors! But also credit to the rest of the cast ! Caroline's character was amazing! Brilliant singing voice! Bonnie what can I say they should make a series just about her!
@@_jules_785 I'll give you the breaking dawn 1and 2 were passable, I think Kristen is dull she only has two facial expressions and talks like a ten year old she's not a natural actress, Nina Dobrev blows her out the window
The moment that always gets me is when Bonnie's grandmother, Sheila, dies. The first major tragedy and major consequence in my opinion and it makes me cry without fail 😅
Yes I think that episode was a great representation of how sad everything would get. They did all that work to open the tomb yet it didn't work out for any of the major characters, just as basically everything else in the show
@@jamierichardson4716 agreed... And it set up for the 8 seasons that Bonnie would suffer in more or less every witchy ex machina plot device... And that rarely anyone considered her suffering 😅
Yes it was the saddest moment for me as Bonnie had lost every hope and every inch of happiness that she had longed for and that she deserved.....So more than Stefan's death it was Enzo's death and Bonnie's grief that overwhelmed me
I most certainly remember it. Damon giving Rose her moment in paradise to take away the pain. Then when Rose admitted that she wasn’t afraid of death and she was going to race Damon, and he asked her..... well how do know I won’t cheat. I’m sure Rose was aware of the situation at hand. Damon did have some truly touching moments with various characters in the show. Alaric’s death and Damon taking care of Liz Forbes in the lead up to her death. The unsolved deaths scene in her office and Damon admitting those he was personally responsible for. The Eulogy at Liz Forbes funeral. The scene where we see young Stefan preparing for his mom Lily’s funeral and Damon helping him put his tie on. Just a big bro helping out his little bro. The whole scene of Damon trying to apologise to whom he must’ve presumed was Lily whilst he was trapped inside the Phoenix Stone, to try and make amends for not being so nice when she was killed off.
Missing these: - Caroline turns her humanity back on and can’t read her mother’s letter - Jo’s death at the altar - John’s letter to Elena when he gives her his life - Damon turns his humanity off in the burning Whitmore building and leaves Enzo behind (I also think the deaths of Enzo and Liz should’ve been higher on the list)
Enzo's death was the hardest to watch. Bonnie never got her happy ending. I really thought she would with Enzo. Her scream was so powerful that it made me cry. I cried happy tears during the last episode where Bonnie was sending the hell fire back to hell and all the Bennet witches joined her. That was so emotional to watch. ❤️
I watched 'Stefan's death' & 'at last when Stefan and Damon hugs' only once and never dared to watch it again because it was so hurtful. I was depressed for like months.
“ I was feeling epic “ will forever be my favourite quote just watched TVD for the first time just finished the whole show I was in tears 😭 literally tears
I didn't cry for any of the deaths on the show because most of them weren't permanent. I did cry when Bonnie's ancestors, especially Grams, showed up to help her whenever she had to save the day. Can we get a spin off of the Bennett witches please??
~In the end, when you lose somebody every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact, that the only thing that you have left is a hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be🥺😭
Such good scenes. Other than the series finale and Elena losing it over Jeremy dying, I bawled the hardest when Damon and the group said goodbye to Ric in 3x20 when he decided not to complete his transition. That messed me up for days.
Enzos death was BY FAR the saddest Moment in the show. I’ve never had goosebumps as much as when I heard Thad scream come out of Bonnie. Ugly sobs. Bonnie deserved to be happy for once.
Stefan ❣️.....So many bad things happened to him still he was there for almost everyone ... Selfless man ..."Stefan with humanity on" :- Best person ❣️❣️❣️ He was feeling epic ❣️🥰
What about the scene where John sacrificed himself for Elena, it actually made me cry even though he was such a bad character for most of the show. The letter he left was so touching
There are quite a couple scenes missing from this list, but one breaks my heart more than any other - Rose's death. It was beautiful to see Damon vulnerable like that 💔
I cried so much when Liz, Alaric, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie, Enzo and Jenna died 😭 Edit: I just remembered you forgot the death of Bonnie's grams! It was so sad when Bonnie found her. Also when Rose got bit by a wolf and Damon had to stake her.
@@Emily_tharp87 Each time for Bonnie. The one when Damon is saying goodbye to Elena after he's stuck on the other side. Stefan in the last episode of season 8. Those ones. Lol.
The top 3 moments that made me cry: 3. Damon and Bonnie's "death" 2. Elena's goodbye to everyone 1. Liz's death and the line "I think i'll always need you"
I just finished watching this for the 4th time start to finish! And feel like i need to rewatch it again after i finish the originals for the 3rd time! The clips just made me cry!! Definitely Stefan and Elena breaking up made me sob cuz he was crying! I just wanted to run and hug him and when he died at the end! I felt like he deserved so much more! Poor Caroline and Bonnie never get there happy ending!! I know unpopular opinion but I always thought Bonnie and Damon would have been amazing together! Their love as best friends could have turned into so much more!
There's never been another show like it, either..for that exact reason. When the show ended, I was a mess.. After so many episodes, you can become so attached to the characters, almost like family.
This is one of the most true things i’ve read about the tvd universe. i’ve definitely cried at least 5+ times every season. it’s such a journey watching this show.
@@emmaschulz3799 I have found one of the keys to the most dramatic, tear-jerking, gut wrenching parts, is they are insanely gifted in running the part to the right music.. When Damon and Elena dance in the street after Kai's spell, season 6, last episode, they did that dance to "Hunger", and the music and lyrics just add so much to the moment.. Even rewatching the whole series when it gets to that part, even after 8 times seeing it, it still devastates me, and I bawl, like a girl. Hahah.. V.diaries, with it's incredible characters and cast, has made it damn near impossible to like "The Originals" or "Legacies".. I mean both series are ok, but I spend every episode hoping a Diaries character will make an appearance...lol
@@peetti3608 OMG yes, the music adds a whole other dimension to the show. Like when alaric is dying towards the end of season 3, and they all show up saying goodbye. The song Ungodly Hour adds so much more emotion like you said. I love "The Originals", but "Legacies" definitely isn't my fav... it has moments like when Jo appears, but overall Tvd is easily the best.
The moment when Stefan was crying alone after feeling broken because he was missing his brother and threw a bottle of bourbon and Damon catches that 🥺 that hug 🥺🥺 Also everytime Damon and Stefan are like 'he is my brother and I'll save him' 🥺 When Alaric died, every time Damon went to the bar and had 2 glasses of drinks and told ppl 'this seat is taken'.. I didn't cry at that scene but it felt so sad 🥺
Rebekah's reaction when Alaric staked Klaus' body, and she thought her brother was dead and Damon held her back . That scene should at least be in the honourable mentions.
When Boonie hope Elena and Damon will be in the porch but again she's left alone in the prison world and she fell on her knees out of sadness and disappointment. I really felt that in my heart.
Sherri Forbes dying I cried. When Bonnie was left in the prison world. And when Stephan killed Enzo I felt Bonnie’s pain and I cried for so long that scene I literally felt her heart breaking and I still get chills. TVD writers were such trash on how they did Bonnie in this series. Still pisses me off.
Ok I never cry especially for tv show but when I tell you I bald my eyes out when sheriff Forbes died, bonnie died (every death) especially her funeral and when they had to say bye to Elena. Honestly best show ever
1)the "last call" for sheriff Forbes gets me...every.single.time. 2) Nina's commitment to the role when Ian gets trapped in the other side "You promised" I've rewatched TVD TOO many times and those 2 scenes just sneak up on me
When Bonnie's grands died, her emotions were so strong I could feel her pain. That's the first time I cried in the show, she really knows how to act those scenes.
The saddest part for me will always be the very end sequence when Damon and Stefan reunite in heaven. That is deep and shows the perfect closure to an amazing series
That moment has destroyed me, Damon really loved Stefan and the minute he died, his soul went straight to him. I think Damon was always homesick for Stefan throughout his life with Elena. That moment is what this show is about. The love of the brothers. They spend eternity together anyways. That is so heartbreakingly beautiful.
I remember when this first aired So nostalgic. Was a great show! I loved it. But then after season 5 it was absolutely terrible. I really wish someone would compell me to forget season 6 7 and 8.
some picks that I think you forgot to add: -Rose death from werewolf bite -Bonnie faking her death to convince klaus that she's gone - Bonnie's suicide attempt in the prison world - Stefan helping katherine find peace before she passed away
These actors r brilliant! The emotion they brought was heartbreaking n raw! I don't cry but sometimes they had me blubbering! Elena, Bonnie, Stefan, Caroline, even poor little Matt made that face n his tear dropped n I was like oh no! This show was amazing but I don't know it got all the credit it should! I found it 10yrs later n fell in love! I suppose that's the beauty of it now, when u discover it u r owned! N then u find the Originals! Good God! VDs end dwindled but some really great work thru out! Amazing!
“I didn’t get to say goodbye.” 😢 When Liz died 😭😭 When Stefan died and told Elena he heard Caroline😭 AND THEN WE GOT TO SEE THE LEGEND THE ONE THE ONLY LEXI BRANSON and the iconic “I was feeling epic.”😖😫😭
When klaus got "killed" by alaric or moments before when he got "killed" by stefan and bonnie was a way sadder than elena forgetting her love for damon
One of the saddest to me was when Damon was trying to remind Elena about her love for him, and he tells her about every feeling he had when he was around her, and how he would do anything for her to feel it again.

I LOVED THE ORIGINALS A LITTLE MORE THAN TVD AND NOW I LOVE LEGACIES (Hope and Landon forever!!) 💓💗💗💗I think Hope Andrea Mikaelson is the coolest character and Landon Kirby is delicious!!🥰🥰
When Valerie broke up with Stefan got me in tears 😭 And when Stefan left Caroline because he was marked and running from Rayna. Another one was when the Phoenix stone was broken and Stefan was in Marty's body and didn’t have much time to live. And when Bonnie was depressed because Damon left to go in the coffin until Elena wakes up. When Damon thought that he kill Elena and when Stefan was drowning in the coffin over and over again. Okay I’m done for real 😂
saddest moments for me **SPOILERS AHEAD** I’m not listing these in any particular order. just listing. > incredibly underrated emotional scene: Damon calls Stefan while he’s stuck in another man’s body in the middle of a snow storm, trying to keep him distracted from freezing to death and trying to get him to stand up and walk so he can find him [season 7, episode 17] > another really underrated not talked about enough scene imo: Nora & Mary Louise death (the background music hits so hard along with that scene) [season 7, episode 16] > Valerie finally opens up to Mary Louise, Nora, and Beau about Julian taking her baby [season 7, episode 08] > Elena’s breakdown before turning off her humanity [season 4, episode 15] > JO’S DEATH COMPLETELY SHATTERED ME [season 6, episode 21 & episode 22] > Elena saying good bye to Caroline and Bonnie due to her “sleeping beauty” coma (especially her goodbye with Bonnie, her crying during their goodbye broke me.) [season 7, episode 22] > Liz Forbes’ death [season 6, episode 14] > Sarah Salvatore’s death [season 8, episode 02] > Enzo’s final death along with Bonnie’s breakdown [season 8, episode 11] > Bonnie crying over Enzo’s body about not being able to save him after Abby burned his body [season 8, episode 12] > Jenna’s death [season 2, episode 21] > Katherine deleting pictures of Elena and Damon in Elena’s phone after Katherine possessed Elena’s body [season 5, episode 13] > Caroline’s breakdown after turning her humanity back on [season 6, episode 19] > Stefan’s final death (sacrifice) in the show [season 8, episode 16] > Stefan’s death and Caroline crying out for help [season 5, episode 21] > Bonnie’s Grams death [season 1, episode 14] > Elena and Damon’s goodbye after Damon and Bonnie’s deaths [season 5, episode 22] > Rose’s death [season 2, episode 12] > Lexi’s death [season 1, episode 08]
@@sydneyelna you put katherine deleting elena and damon’s pictures but didn’t put nadia and katherine’s deaths I don’t know that “your mother loves you” broke my heart
