If you don't want sim socks specifically, another alternative is water shoes. They're basically ankle socks with a rubber sole and are breathable and serve much the same purpose of just adding a bit of grip.
SILVERSTONE! Nice video mate, i recently made some diy button boxes for my sim rig and it's the best upgrade ever, to have 20-30 more programmable buttons is super helpful in most games especially in ETS2.
A couple of points:- With regards to sim racing gloves, I've switched to using good quality cycling gloves. I've had so called sim racing gloves before but the quality vs price has always been disappointing with the sim racing gloves starting to fall apart after only 20 or 30 hours use. Also be careful with so called sim racing shoes, a lot of them appear to be nothing more than rebranded water shoes which are being sold for 3 or 4 times the price. Don't get me wrong, water shoes can be and are an excellent choice for sim racing, but why pay £25 to £30 for sim racing shoes, when you can pick up water shoes for £5 to £10. IF you really want to spend some money then just go straight to actual racing shoes. Oh and about the giveaway, what was that track called again, Brands Hatch or something, wasn't it 😉
Yup, that’s the track 🤣 Appreciate the comments.👍🏻 My F33L gloves have lasted me 4 years now and apart from some bobbling are still in great condition which is why I recommended them. As for the shoes I’ve got friends who have tried both and found the SimHound shoes to be better than water shoes. But I’ve not owned them so just going by what they say. I’ve reached out to SimHound to see if they will allow me to review them so fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Have a great weekend. 🙏
Great Video! If i don't win the giveaway I will definitely buy a pair of gloves as im looking to buy the KS wheel from MOZA and i definitely don't want that getting ruined
I dont understand why people keep saying you need to wear gloves with alcantara. You know you can wash it right? Alcantara can be restored from gross to brand new with a simple cleaning, i have done it myself. Its not even that hard, just get some fairy soap and a wet microfiber cloth and scrub it. Doing this doesnt damage the alcantara. Dont believe me just watch the many videos online on people restoring alcantara wheels.
There’s several reasons to wear gloves and one of them is to keep the wheel clean. I’d personally rather keep it clean and wear gloves for all of those reasons than spend time washing the wheels 👍🏻
