I have a lot of respect for fighting types, so this was definitely worth a watch. Do you think you could cover normal types? They tend to have the most versatility of any Pokémon type in terms of movesets, so I think there will be a lot of strong contenders
I think there was a time where people also use Machamp for its No Guard + Dynamic Punch combo. A high damaging more that guarantees confusion? Wicked…..Great list, Mystic.
@@diablo5028 my only guess is that it has relatively low HP and phys defense stats so without setting up it can't really take hits as well as some of the others here.
@@crackball22 Mienshao Has NO DEFENSE And HP Whatsoever & Gallade Has Higher Special Def And Is Clearly Better .. Also Mienshao Is Nowhere Near Better Than Machamp . 😂
@@melvondrewhite2674 I didn't say anything about meinshao tho.. I was talking about his logic for maybe why he didn't put Gallade on the list...? I never tried to say anything about meinshao 🤣
@@MegaShepardsPie Machamps spec attack may not be great. but with choice specs and moves that have 120 base power that can Never miss I assure you the damage is far greater than you'd expect. Many people have used it in the past in OU and done quite well with it. Especially since its base attack is still strong enough to put respect into a switch in from knock off or stone edge which again cannot miss.
I think when you do future lists like this, you should add honorable/dishonorable mentions. Honorable mentions for this list in my opinion would be: Gallade Toxicroak Hisuian Decidueye Sneasler
Something I love getting out of this is considering using Pokémon I wouldn’t consider during play throughs and thru other Pokémon related things I love these series. I find myself wanting a series to binge on individual pokemon and everything about them and competetive viableness in like 3 minute short snippets and making like 5 of them for a entertaining 15 minute vid learning more about the Pokémon game and world I love ❤️:)
Honorable mentions I think are Gallade with the ability Justified, Toxicroak with a Poison and Fighting type combo to resist fairy types, Medicham which was in the Top ten non legendary Psychic type Pokemon, Crabominable which is an Ice and Fighting type combo that can counterattack Flying types and Scrafty which has Intimidate
Not gonna lie, Gen 3 was my growing up generation, and my heart lit up a bit seeing blaziken cause in my head I’m like “damn blaziken really do be sweeping sometimes”
Personally I don't think Blaziken is as great as you say it is. It's not a bad Pokemon, I'll admit that, but Blaziken has too much of a predictable movepool in my opinion.
@@jtgrace10 My god, you weren't even listening to what I was saying. I'll admit Blaziken is pretty strong, but it's move pool is pretty predictable, cause it doesn't get as much coverage as it should. If that was worked on, then I'd come to a nice solid agreement.
ExAgunimon/EmperorGreymon/Susanoomon Would Murderstomp Mega Blaziken!In Digimon Battle Spirit 2's Hard Mode,I Got 1500 Orbs With Him Without Cheats!Air 9-Headed Dragon Slash!Nuff Said!🤣🤣
@@jtgrace10 it usually dies really fast because flare blitz do too much recoil to it. And considering every team have regenerator core like (slowbro+therian tornadus) you can easily wall it. God forbid if it meet something with iron barb/rocky helmet/rough skin. And this didn't factor something like hazard or how frail it is.
@@jaretco6423 i agreed thats its currently the most op starter pokemon. But it's not overrated either. Anything that isn't in Ash team is underrated. Same goes to blaziken, Overrated Starter Is Charizard, Sceptile And Greninja that was Ash pokemon in anime. Now backs to competitive play, Blaziken isn't overrated as you say since barely high rank player use hims now. He just overall good in any team you use that's why he's quite used in some occasion. He have quite large movepool of coverage and insane stats of sweeping so saying his moveset is predictable isn't valid... Atleast to my perspective. Blaziken having access to mega doesn't change anything. And in my opinion, he's better without mega stones. Stuffs Like Focus Sash, Life Orb, And Choice Band just works slightly better and also save your mega stone for something better, like Mega Tyranitar And Mega Kanghaskan. Blaziken Is A Risky When Setting Up But It's Promise You A Huge Win If He Manage To Setup And Get Those Sword Dance And Speedboost.
There are definitely some things I feel weren't mentioned in this list. Not that that's a bad thing though, was a great list. Lucario also works very well in double battles because of Justified. Get yourself with an ally that can use Beat Up, preferably not a very strong Beat Up just to minimise the damage dealt to Lucario. Using Beat Up on Lucario will send his Attack stat skyrocketing all in just one turn. Breloom does very well in grassy terrain. Combining the healing of poison heal, with leech seed and the grassy terrain healing effect makes you heal a good amount of HP each turn. Combining this with STAB Drain Punch for extra healing and that's only taking up 2 move slots. You could run Toxic, Spore, Rock Slide to cover the 4x Flying type weakness and you have yourself a really good supporting Pokémon. I feel at least two honourable mentions would be Emboar and Scrafty. I'll start with Scrafty first. Scrafty might not have the best of stats however what it lacks in Speed it makes up for in defences and, thanks to Moxie, it can build higher than just it's base 90 Attack but you could also use it with Intimidate. Scrafty is a good Fake Out option as well and you can take advantage of its meager base 58 speed by using moves like Payback and Assurance. It also has good coverage against its main biggest threat being Fairy type with Iron Head. Having a low speed stat can get it killed due to its quad weakness to Fairy and other powerful typings but I thought it was worth a mention. So with Emboar, I feel that Emboar has a lot going for it. It can be a very good mixed attacker with base 123 Attack and base 100 Special Attack which comes in handy with its coverage options. I'll get to that in a sec. It also has decent bulk with base 110 HP so it doesn't hurt it too much not being the fastest of things, only having a base 65 speed. Emboar can work very well on Trick Room teams and also on Sun teams. On Trick Room teams Emboar can exploit its low speed combined with usage of Hammer Arm under Trick Room to outspeed the opponent and hit for massive damage with moves Flare Blitz and Head Smash, Flare Blitz being its best option, since it gets the boost of Reckless and a STAB boost on top of its 120 base power and taking advantage of Emboar's base 123 physical Attack. Emboar has really good coverage as well, some of it tying directly into Reckless. It gets access to Wild Charge and Head Smash both being powerful and useful moves for covering it's weaknesses especially Wild Charge covering both Water types and Flying types. Emboar gets access to Solar Beam as well, and when paired with sunlight, Solar Beam fires off instantly as well as the sunlight boosting Emboar's Fire Type moves and further dampening it's Water Type weakness. If Head Smash isn't for you, don't worry. Emboar gets access to Rock Slide and Stone Edge for other Rock Type move options. Just listing other moves it gets now, it gets access to Earthquake, Gyro Ball (when combined with Hammer Arm and its low speed can be a powerful option), Scald and Rock Tomb (for speed control). Emboar does have major competition though which is a problem it'll always face. Doing this, I'm not trying to downplay your video at all, I loved the list and you gave some really good points for each of the Pokémon on the list and explained them very well. I also really love Ghost type Pokémon, in fact it is my absolute favourite type so I would love to see you cover that next. Loving these list videos, keep it up :)
Yeah it is a cool typing the only thing about it is the flying type doesn't really cover for any of the fighting type weaknesses but on a Pokémon like Hawlucha it's well used
I'm glad it didn't make it for the same reason but a little sad bc it's my favorite of the fire fighting starters. Not because of how good it is or anything just design and a personal connection to the line :3
It's my favorite too. I have a strong distaste for the fighting type since they're very humanoid (with obvious exceptions), but mienshao caught my eye on the best of ways. ❤️
Worth mentioning, you should either pre-poison / pre-burn your pokemon before battle if you run a guts set with scarf (assuming you're playing in game and not competitive battles) , since they don't have any natural way of activating the ability otherwise.
Reckless or unburden hitmonlee? Reckless mienshao? Intimidate or technician hitmontop? Reckless emboar? No guard dynamic punch machamp? Iron fist or sheer force conkelderr? Moxie scarf heracross? Who the heck runs scarf guts? Fur coat bewear? Dry skin or set up toxicroak? Huge power medicham? Swift swim choice band poliwrath? Gallade? Not saying you were completely wrong but there were big challengers for this list
If there are any animators or comic artists here, I would have a video request, based on Fighting Pokemon. Remember how Brock was able to enter Geodude in the P1 Grand Prix in "The Punchy Pokemon"? I can think of other appropriate non-Fighting Pokemon who should be allowed: Greninja, Dewott, Incineroar, Rilaboom, Grimsnarl (if his fake-muscly _HAIR_ counts), and maybe Tsareena (if her kicks are based on martial arts and not soccer, like the Fire Rabbit Pokemon). You design the fights however you want, just as long as these non-Fighting types take on real Fighting types. They totally blend in together, just like Vibrava with Bug Pokemon or Shelmet with Steel Pokemon.
Kommo O is underated here considering he is a Pseudo Legendary My Top 10 1. Mega Lucario 2. Mega Blaziken 3. Mega Gallade 4. Mega Heracross 5. Kommo o 6. Infernape 7. Mega Lopunny 8. Mega Medicham 9. Sneasler 10. Chesnaught
My favorite Fighting type will always be Mega Lopunny. Getting a 100 point boost to BST, massive Attack and Speed stats, adding in the Fighting type to give it STAB with Close Combat alongside it's already pretty beefy Return and Giga Impact, and the ability Scrappy to ensure that Ghosts can't no sell the form completely. Turns out, Ghosts take a ton of damage from the likes of CC and GI when they can't type immune it all away lol. It really makes me wish Lopunny's Mega Evo was actually just her stage 3 regular evo. It really does do the mon a lot of favors to have it.
Blaziken might be a beast when it sets up but it is certainly not known for its fighting type It has such a predictibale movepool In my opinion the first spot is either breloom infernape or kommo o
I'm both disappointed and yet understanding that Emboar isn't on here. But, my pick for the next video is Dark type because it's my second favorite type after fire.
Hey Mystic, I wanna put your Kanto best teams to the test. Playing through Firered once with each starter using their recommended team. I'll play if you are up to it.
Mystic please do a video on your take on Pokken Tournament and a character wish list for a Pokken 2 and just a vid discussing the possibility of a Pokken 2.
I have lots of respect to this ranking but the fact that gallade did not make it really surprised me cause gallade was main and strongest pokemon in pokemon violet, but otherwise have a nice day ❤❤❤
I can tell you looks at pokemon a lot for fan favorites Blaziken is undoubtedly one of the weakest fighting types. As a fire type it takes a great spot but in terms of the pokemon as a total its one of the weakest starter types. It dual typing was used way to much and it's moves are more limited than other fighting types. Sure it can deal with other fighting types well but it really lacks against dealing with a large window of mons.
Yeah. One of my biggest problem with Blaziken is it's movepools. They're not awful. Just not enough versatile as to what Inferape had. That and it has little less stats than it in terms of attacks & speed. Sure. It got Sword Dance & few others movepools that are great. But it's speed & attacks were little shorter than Inferape's that it couldn't keep up. The only reason it became so good and better than Inferape is because it got Speed Boost as an Hidden Ability and combined with the Mega Evolution & other upgrade it gotten, it became one of the most O.P. starter Pokemon ever.
I think that that the top 10 fighting types are 10, Machamp 9, Kamono-o 8, Mienshau 7, Conceldor 6, Heracross 5, Lucario 4, Breloom 3. Hawlucha 2, Infernape 1, Blaziken and can do you either Ghost or Dark type next.
Personally I’d place Hawlucha over Breloom since Breloom gets 1 shot from flying types. I’d like to see more coverage options in its move pool. Imagine if it learned elemental punches
Aside from Conkeldurr and Blaziken, I enjoyed the list here. And really, I only dislike those two because of how overrated they're getting. But seeing some other under-appreciated Pokémon like Mienshao, Heracross, Kommo-o and Breloom as well as classics like Infernape and Lucario more than make up for it. The Fighting type is a strong type, and it shows.
Does a flame orb not take away from Facade and Guts as a burn half's attack? Appreciate a Toxic Orb puts a shorter timer on things but feel attacks would be stronger as a result
